FRANKFURT, Germany — An Islamic extremist who killed two U.S. airmen bound for Afghanistan at Frankfurt airport last year and injured two others was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison on Friday.

The state court in Frankfurt convicted 22-year-old Arid Uka of two counts of murder. It also found him guilty of three counts of attempted murder and serious bodily harm for wounding two other servicemen and taking aim at a third before his 9 mm pistol jammed.

Uka, an ethnic Albanian from Kosovo, killed Senior Airman Nicholas J. Alden, 25, from South Carolina, and Airman 1st Class Zachary R. Cuddeback, 21, from Virginia in the March 2 attack on the Afghanistan-bound servicemen as they were boarding a bus at the airport.

Judge Thomas Sagebiel ruled that Uka bears “particularly severe guilt,” citing the nature of his ambush on the soldiers, the fact he shot unarmed people from behind and the severity of the injuries he inflicted.

That means he won’t immediately be eligible for parole after 15 years as is usual in Germany.

Prosecutors said Uka was an example of a lone-wolf extremist who became radicalized on his own by reading and watching jihadist propaganda on the Internet. During the trial, they introduced as evidence dozens of files containing songs and written material pulled from his cell phone, music player and computer.

Uka, who worked as a temporary mail sorter at the airport, testified that he wanted to stop U.S. service personnel from going to Afghanistan after viewing a video on Facebook that purported to show American soldiers raping a teenage Muslim girl. It turned out to be a scene from the 2007 Brian De Palma anti-war film “Redacted,” taken out of context.

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- An Uzbekistan native, already charged with threatening the life of President Barack Obama and illegally possessing weapons, including a fully automatic weapon and a grenade, this afternoon was charged with providing material support for terrorism.

It is the first time federal prosecutors in Alabama have charged someone under that terrorist statute, according to court records.

Ulugbek Kodirov, 22, will be arraigned on the new charge in a hearing at 1 p.m. Friday before U.S. Magistrate John Ott. At 1:30 p.m. Friday he had already been scheduled to plead guilty to the previous charges.

...An affidavit filed with a search warrant for Kodirov's apartment in federal court stated that the FBI had been informed of Kodirov's plans through two confidential reliable sources. One source, according to the affidavit, described Kodirov as a strict Muslim who has previously expressed support for Islamic extremists and who views Jihadist websites.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) recently obtained close to 300 pages of documents, as a result of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, detailing the federal agency’s “intelligence gathering” practices on the web.

Among the documents were guidelines from DHS instructing outside contractors to monitor the web for media reports and comments that “reflect adversely” on the agency or the federal government.

I'm sure the nation that has endured enslavement under the Pharaohs, wandering in the desert for 40 years, thousands of years of persecution under various empires, and ultimately the Holocaust is really worried about a few somewhat computer literate morons.

Earlier we brought you a report that Jesse "Younes Abdullah Muhammad" Morton was planning to plead guilty and now our long time dream has come true: It's finished, Younes pleaded guilty just a few minutes ago!

Seriously, any long time reader knows that our very personal feud with Younes Abdullah Muhammed, Yousef al-Khattab, and the rest of the gang at Revolution Muslim goes way back. Waaaaay, back. And that this feud became very personal over the years, including Jawa themed video tributes to murdering hostages by the gang at Revolution Muslim dedicated to us. Howie should be even more happy as Joey "Yousef al-Khattab" Cohen's ire was generally directed toward me, Younes Abdullah Muhammad had a special disdain for Howie.

And remember the time we had Joey on our short-lived radio show? Ahhh, good times, good times.

We've been calling for their arrest for years, and noting the very real and personal connections the group has with terrorists. Some of these connections are listed below. For instance, the personal relationship that Younes had with Samir Khan, the now dead al Qaeda propagandist. Samir, Younes, and Yousef were personal friends, not just online buddies.

Islamist students halted the filming of an Egyptian television series at Cairo's Ain Shams University protesting against the "indecent" clothing of the actresses, the production company said Thursday.
Misr International films had obtained permission from the university's management to film on site, the head of the company, Gaby Khoury, told AFP.

But "when the shooting started, the director of the engineering faculty, Sherif Hammad, came to tell us that some students and teachers were against it, because of the clothing worn by the actresses," he said.

The series, adapted from the novel "Dhat" by Egyptian author Sonallah Ibrahim, takes place in the 1970s, "when women wore short clothing."

Hammad "insisted that the filming should stop and that we would be reimbursed ... explaining that he was not able to guarantee the protection of the materials or the artists," Khoury added.

In a statement on Wednesday evening, the production company said "the student members of the Muslim Brotherhood at Ain Shams University had prevented the film crew from the 'Dhat' TV series from shooting the scenes set at the university."

The students had objected to the "indecent" clothing, it said, and "categorically refused" to let the filming continue unless the costumes were changed.

Billie Jean Hayworth - Billy Payne

Astonishingly, Hayworth was shot while holding her baby who fortunately was found unharmed.

Because of the de-friending, Jenelle Potter's father, Marvin Potter,Jr., 60, became angry and conspired with a friend, Jamie Curd, 38, to shoot Payne and Hayworth. Potter, Jr. and Curd have been charged with first-degree murder.

I suspect there is no listing of possible motives for murder which includes de-friending someone on Facebook. It's senseless.

When I first got the email saying she was running for Congress, I did a quick check of the archives and found that we had, in fact, reported on her before:

Retired Col. Martha McSally, whose grievance about being forced to wear the Muslim abaya while stationed in Saudi Arabia in the 1990s resulted in 2002 legislation outlawing the practice of making female soldiers wear Muslim religious garb in Saudi Arabia, told The Daily Caller that the sanctity of the uniform should not be sullied with outside accessories like the hijab.

“Another thing that makes this inappropriate is that they are wearing it with their uniform,” she said. “All the services have several-hundred-page regulations about what is appropriate and is not appropriate to wear with the uniform, and we have very strict guidelines … You are representing the United States government. You are wearing the U.S. military uniform, and it confuses what you are representing when you add this to the uniform.”
