In recent times Christians have not fared well under Islamic rule. Even in the supposedly "moderate" Saudi Arabia there is discrimination --Christian bibles and Christmas trees are outlawed. The treatment of Christians in the Muslim Middle east is nothing short of ethic cleansing, yet it is very rare to see the media or Christians bring up the topic. Has the world gotten so politically correct that Muslims are the only people in the world who cannot be criticized.

Millions of Christians are being thrown out of Islamic countries (and they may be the lucky ones).'

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom recently said: “The flight of Christians out of the region is unprecedented and it’s increasing year by year.” In our lifetime alone “Christians might disappear altogether from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Egypt.

After more than two years of intense motion practice and discovery, the City of Dearborn has agreed to enter into a settlement that includes a public apology for arresting several Christian missionaries who were peacefully preaching to Muslims at the Dearborn Arab International Festival in 2010. The American Freedom Law Center (AFLC) is representing Dr. Nabeel Qureshi, David Wood, and Paul Rezkalla, who were thrown in jail on June 18, 2010, and charged with “breach of the peace” for their free speech activity.

The City’s public apology states as follows:

On June 18, 2010, David Wood, Nabeel Qureshi (co-founders of Acts 17 Apologetics) and Paul Rezkalla were arrested by Dearborn police officers at the Dearborn Arab International Festival (“Arab Festival”), while they were engaging in a peaceful dialogue about their Christian faith with several festival attendees. Wood, Qureshi, and Rezkalla were subsequently charged with breach of peace, a misdemeanor offense.
The decision to arrest these individuals was based in part on information provided to the Dearborn police by Arab Festival attendees, workers, and volunteers. When all of the information—including the video captured by Wood, Qureshi, and Rezkalla—was presented to a Dearborn jury, the jury found that these individuals were not guilty of the criminal offense of breach of peace.
The City of Dearborn regrets and apologizes for the decisions to arrest and prosecute David Wood, Nabeel Qureshi, and Paul Rezkalla and the hardship caused to everyone involved.

Through this apology and its acceptance by David Wood, Nabeel Qureshi, and Paul Rezkalla, the parties seek to build a bridge and to confirm to the community that members of all faiths are welcome in Dearborn to peacefully share their views and to engage in religious discussions.

But its understandable they would believe this, given that in every single Sharia state around the world Christians are forbidden from preaching the Gospel to Muslims. In some places like Bangledesh the prohibition has been so that Muslims cannot preach to Hindu. Where in still other places where Muslims hold a great majority there is no such reciprocation. Even forcing Islamic doctrine on Christian children.

This is why those who argue for the implementation of Sharia are completely wrong. The system of Sharia is inherently unfair to Non-Muslims who are oppressed under a different set of rules than Muslims living in states where Sharia is the basis of the law.

Its not that we're ignorant of Sharia at all, oh no we're quite aware of its tyranny. Its those who argue that Sharia is just another essentially equal system of justice, the its just their culture argument, who are the Phillistines; behind the age.

A Tunisian Salafi preacher has called for a 19-year old girl who posted her topless pictures on Facebook to be “quarantined” and stoned to death before she starts “an epidemic.”

Tunisian newspaper AssabahNews quoted Salafi preacher Alami Adel, who heads the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, saying: “According to God’s law, she deserves 80 to 100 lashes, but what she committed is worth much more than that. She deserves to be stoned to death and she must be quarantined because what she did is an epidemic.”[More]

Sadly, her parents are also part of the problem.

Amina has been delivered by her parents to a psychiatric hospital in Tunis, according to reports received by FEMEN leader Inna Shevchenko in Paris and reported by the U.S. based magazine the Atlantic.

Tunisian media said that if Amina committed the offence in Tunisia, she could be punished by up to two years in prison and be given a fine between $60 and $600.

A petition and an international day of action on April 4 to highlight the threats against Amina have been organized by activists.[More]

An excellent article by Michael Totten who reminds us all that no matter who is President, the threat of those wishing to unite mosque and state will remain:

Everything the United States does is viewed with suspicion across the political spectrum. Gamal Abdel Gawad Soltan, the director of Egypt's Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, admitted as much to me in Cairo last summer when I asked him about NATO's war against Gadhafi in Libya. "There is a general sympathy with the Libyan people," he said, "but also concern about the NATO intervention. The fact that the rebels in Libya are supported by NATO is why many people here are somewhat restrained from voicing support for the rebels." When I asked him what Egyptians would think if the U.S. sat the war out, he said, "They would criticize NATO for not helping. It's a lose-lose situation for you."

So we're damned if we do and we're damned if we don't. And not just on Libya. An enormous swath of the Arab world supported the Iraqi insurgency after an American-led coalition overthrew Saddam Hussein. Thousands of non-Iraqi Arabs even showed up to fight. Yet today the U.S. is roundly criticized all over the region for not taking Assad out in Syria.

I don't blame Obama for screwing up the Middle East. The place was screwed up before and so shall forever remain. What I really blame Obama for is that his first instincts are always to blame America first.

If that's your default position, then you shouldn't be the President.

But I have fairly low expectations for the Romney Administration when it comes to fixing the Middle East. The best we can hope for is moral clarity on who the bad guys are, and prayers that President Romney will come to the conclusion that the rest of us have and just give up.

Lest this be taken as somehow advocating an abandonment of Israel, let me remind you what American intervention has gotten Israel in the past: stopping them from complete victory over their enemies.

What Israel needs is moral support. Romney will give them that. What they don't need is an "ally" telling them to withdraw every time they have their enemies on the ropes, and which insists they can't bomb the country threatening their annihilation should it ever get the bomb.

I'd say something sarcastic about gender equity -- since the boy in the relationship got 100 lashes -- but really there's nothing funny about a girl in her early teens being murdered for having sex with someone who isn't her husband:

Outraged Tunisians took to the streets by the hundreds Tuesday, angrily protesting the treatment of a woman who was allegedly raped by police officers -- and then charged with public indecency when she filed a complaint.

"At best, charging the victim of a rape by police officers instead of protecting her from intimidation and stigma highlights the deep flaws on Tunisian law and criminal justice system," said Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui, deputy Middle East and North Africa program director at Amnesty International.

"At worst, it is an insidious attempt to discredit a rape victim and protect those she accused of raping her."

In this case the officers implemented a more informal on the spot Sharia. The young man should count himself lucky he was only extorted, instead of imprisoned beaten and fined. As for the young lady she has no recourse, under Sharia she needs four supporting male witnesses or 8 supporting female witnesses to verify her claim of rape.

In the opinion of the Police, since she was obviously an unchaste woman under the Sharia they are perfectly within their rights to just do what comes naturally with uncovered meat and just take her knowing she'll not only have no recourse but that her story will be a warning to chaste women not to violate the Sharia.

Sharia law is antithetical to freedom for everyone, but especially to females. And any system that implements the Sharia or has a constitution that enshrines Sharia as its basis and uses Sharia as its basis for family law will be inherently unfair and oppressive to women.

British Muslim mosque leaders are agreeing to carry out secret marriages with child brides as young as 12 in the UK, it emerged today.

According to the newspaper, the reporter[undercover] was told by Imam Mohamed Kassamali that 'under sharia [Islamic law] there is no problem' in marrying a 12-year-old.

But while he declared Islamic Law dictated a girl should see 'her first sign of puberty at the house of her husband', he admitted they would all get in to trouble if she went to police saying she was forced into the marriage[...]

When approached by the newspaper he insisted he would only have carried out the ceremony if it was allowed under British law and if both parties had not been coerced into the marriage[..]

The current British law allows for Imans to carry out religious marriage ceremonies of consenting brides and grooms aged under 16 so long as they don't have sex until they are 16.

Under Sharia law both parties must to consent to the marriage and they can then live as man and wife and have sex irrespective of age.

But under British law, the legal age of consent is 16, so a husband could be prosecuted for rape if he has sex with a girl under that age - even if it is his wife.

A Pakistani imam has been remanded in custody, accused of planting pages of the a [fixed it for yah..ed] Koran among burnt pages in the bag of a Christian girl held for blasphemy.

The girl was detained two weeks ago near the capital Islamabad after an angry mob demanded she be punished.

Imam Khalid Chishti allegedly told a witness that this was a "way of getting rid of Christians", a prosecutor said[...]

"The imam was arrested after his deputy Maulvi Zubair and two others told a magistrate he added pages from the a [fixed it for yah...ed] Koran to the burnt pages brought to him by a witness," an investigator Munir Hussain Jaffri said.

He said Mr Zubair and some others had told the imam not to interfere, urging him to "give the evidence to the police as he got it".

According to Mr Jaffri, Imam Chishti had told them: "You know this is the only way to expel the Christians from this area."

"A furious crowd" of Shariah loving Pakistanis ordered this disabled girl be punished. Cowardly Pakistani police complied:

Pakistan's president has ordered a report into the arrest of a girl with mental disabilities, reportedly as young as 11, accused of desecrating pages of the Koran.

Police say the girl was arrested last week in a Christian area of the capital, Islamabad, after a furious crowd demanded she be punished.

Officials said the girl could not properly answer police questions.

Her parents have been taken into protective custody following threats.

Many other Christian families have fled the neighbourhood after unrest erupted. Reports say that police arrested her under pressure from the large crowd.

It is thought that the girl has Down's syndrome, which is a congenital condition that causes various degrees of learning difficulties and certain physical abnormalities.

Ah, Taliban style Shariah law strikes again

The northern half of Mali has been overrun by rebels - Tuareg and Islamist - following a coup in Mali's capital.

Aguelhok in the region of Kidal was one of the first to be captured by Tuareg separatist rebels.

The Islamists in Aguelhok stoned the couple to death in front of about 200 people, officials said.

"I was there. The Islamists took the unmarried couple to the centre of Aguelhok. The couple was placed in two holes and the Islamists stoned them to death," a local government official told the AFP news agency.

De Wyche College, Cheshire - http://dewyche.webs.com/ - is a girls' boarding school that has turned away prospective Muslim students because their parents objected to the school uniform on religious grounds. (Why would they apply in the first place, if they objected?)

Since then, groups of Muslim men have been hanging around near the school shouting abuse at students leaving and arriving, and some have also been following the girls (who are aged 11 to 18) to the local train station and doing the same. This is particularly worrying in light of recent revelations about Muslim paedophile gangs operating all over the country, but no one seems able to do anything about it.

Had the school bowed to the Islamists and given them a special exception granting them more freedom of dress than the rest of the students well that makes the Kuffar into Dhimmis. Those who bow to the authority of Islam and its supposed superiority.

But since the school rejected that move now the next step is to "terrorize the Kuffar (unbelievers)" who in this case is the school and the young ladies who attend it until they comply with the demands put upon them.

See how this works?

I applaud the schools correct interpretation to stand strong in the face of this. We must firmly state that the Muslim communities wishes and tactics are unacceptable.

If they don't like it there are plenty of Girls' schools in Sharia compliant middle eastern states where they can go if they wish.

Well actually there probably are not any comparable Girl's schools in Sharia compliant middle eastern states. But hey you must choose.

Al Qaeda beheaded a woman for not being a good Muslim in the south eastern town of Rada'a, said local sources on Wednesday.

Al Qaeda fighters stormed the house of Mrs AlSharifa Amer, in Bani Zeyad, Rada'a, and slaughtered her and took the head and hang it in front of the house of Mohammed Mohammed Al Awbali. Mrs Amer is locally known as a popular doctor who treats sick people by herbs .

The sources said that Al Qaeda considered the woman as an enemy of Allah for being a "trickster".

But what will be more shocking perhaps is Minister Farrakhan’s own semi-secret relationship with the modern day slaving of African Blacks by people, and in countries, that the NOI leader has an interest to protect.

I'm for religious tolerance. I've argued over and over that Muslims have the right to build mosques wherever they want. I don't support burning Korans. I've never burned an actual Koran, although I've had some fun with photoshop at the expense of the intolerant who want to saddle me with their religious customs through compulsion.

But I might burn a Koran now. Because I can. Because I'm free. It's the principle of the thing:

A Pakistani court on Tuesday jailed a 42-year-old Muslim man for life for burning a Koran, officials said.

Naseem Ahmed, a father of three, was arrested last June on charges of desecrating Islam's holy book in Lasda village in Pakistani Kashmir, about 40 kilometres (25 miles) east of the regional capital Muzaffarabad.

A fundamental human liberty is the right to criticize religion -- including the right to do things considered sacrilegious. People who are compelled by the force of law and threat of violence to respect religious icons and beliefs are by definition not free.

*I didn't actually burn this Koran. But I am having serious fantasies about it right now.

Hundreds of Muslim women gathered near Tunis Saturday to call for the return of the caliphate, the defunct Islamic system of governance which they said was the only means of guaranteeing their rights.

The members of the Hizb ut-Tahrir party came from Islamic countries including Arab states, Indonesia and Turkey, as well as from Europe to debate the benefits of the system that disappeared nearly 90 years ago.

"This conference raises questions about the secular liberal way of life and asks whether it is a system that has succeed in securing the dignity and rights of women," chief spokeswoman Nasrin Nawaaz of the British branch of the party told AFP.

"Muslim women are gathering together saying that we no longer want to live under secular liberal democratic systems," she added.

"We want a new system, we want the khalifa system that historically has been tried and has succeeded in securing the rights of women."

The good news: a court dismissed a blasphemy lawsuit against an Egyptian who tweeted an image of Mickey-Mouse-Mohammad earlier this week.

The bad news: another guy wasn't so lucky:

An Egyptian court has sentenced a Christian man to six years in prison on charges of showing contempt for religion and insulting the Prophet Mohammed, reported the semi-official newspaper Al-Ahram on Thursday.

The court, in the southern Egyptian province of Assiut, said that Makram Diab, a school employee, had made offensive remarks against Islam's prophet, according to the report.

Update: (Thanks, wtd) Perce, the victim in this case, is being threatened with jail time for posting the audio of his trial. This is pure sharia in America, where the victim is punished and the perpetrators are freed, and where the judge ignore human rights in favor of Islamic superiority.

In many Arabic speaking countries something like this is definitely against the law there. In their society in fact it can be punishable by death and it frequently is in their society.

“Islam is not just a religion, it’s their culture, their culture. It’s their very essence their very being. They pray five times a day towards Mecca to be a good Muslim, before you die you have to make a pilgrimage to Mecca unless you are otherwise told you can not because you are too ill too elderly, whatever but you must make the attempt. Their greetings wa-laikum as-Salâm (is answered by voice) may god be with you. Whenever, it’s very common when speaking to each other it’s very common for them to say uh this will happen it’s it they are so immersed in it.

“Then what you have done is you have completely trashed their essence, their being. They find it very very very offensive. I’m a Muslim, I find it offensive. But you have that right, but you’re way outside your boundaries or first amendment rights. This is what, and I said I spent about 7 and a half years living in other countries. when we go to other countries it’s not uncommon for people to refer to us as ugly Americans this is why we are referred to as ugly Americans, because we are so concerned about our own rights we don’t care about other people’s rights as long as we get our say but we don’t care about the other people’s say” [...]

We are hearing reports from our contacts in Iran that the execution orders for Christian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani may have been issued.

Pastor Youcef’s situation – an innocent man convicted and sentenced to death for becoming a Christian – has not been this dire since we first brought his case to your attention last year.

It is unclear whether Pastor Youcef would have a right of appeal from the execution order. We know that the head of Iran’s Judiciary, Ayatollah Sadegh Larijani, must approve publicly held executions, but only a small percentage of executions are held public—most executions in Iran are conducted in secret.

There has also been a disturbing increase in the number of executions conducted by the Iranian regime in the last month.

Iran is actively violating its human rights obligations by sentencing and detaining Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani. We call on the Iranian government to release Pastor Youcef immediately.

We are continuing to work to help spare the life of Pastor Youcef, and will provide additional updates on his situation as we are able.

Please continue to pray, share his story, and call for his release.

Daily Times: A group of Islamic leaders is urging Muslim business owners to stop selling alcohol tobacco and drug paraphernalia, which are prohibited in the Quran because they contribute to the destruction of humanity.

The United Muslim Coalition for Chester Citizens Against Violence and Crime mailed out a letter detailing the request to 16 Muslim-owned businesses last In their letter, the coalition also asked Muslim business owners to cease selling pork and any other products also forbidden in the Quran.

The Muslim leaders spent two weeks visiting each of the establishments, because none of them responded to their letter or attended their meeting, they said.

A Saudi man accused of blaspheming the so-called "prophet" Muhammad on Twitter has been arrested in Malaysia. If extradited, he could face the death penalty in his native country.

Malaysian authorities arrested a Saudi newspaper writer wanted by the Gulf kingdom for offending Islam and Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) and local reports said he could face death.

Hamza Kashgari was seized as he arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday following his escape from Saudi Arabia on news that King Abdullah has ordered him arrested and prosecuted for religious insults in his articles on Twitter.
