Believe it or not, there are moderate secular Muslims. You know the kind we're always hearing about. The percentage of such is debatable as every time one of them speaks up, the Muslim Brotherhood's mouthpiece CAIR with the help of the liberal media takes them to task.

Its quite clear why CAIR and the rest of the Sharia supporters do it, under Sharia its unlawful to criticize ANY Muslim for ANY reason in front of the Kufr (that's you) lest the Kufr get the impression that Muslims are in any way undeserving to rule over them.

What's confusing is why the left sides with the more radical Muslims rather than the ones that actually fit the narrative the left promotes of the moderate Muslim?

Actor & comedian Adel Imam has been sentenced to three months in prison for insulting Islam. What horrible, insensitive thing did he do in the film to offend the religion of peace and tolerance? (Emphasis mine)

The state-run Ahram Online English website reported Thursday he was found guilty for "defaming Islam" in a 2007 movie in which he plays a corrupt businessman who tries to buy a university diploma. The film, Morgan Ahmed Morgan, included a scene with bearded Muslim men wearing traditional Islamic robes.

OH, THE HUMANITY! The fact no one has died for this offense when clearly someone should have just illustrates the open-mindedness and forgiveness of Islam.

I'm so glad our tax dollars were able to help Egypt achieve that democracy and freedom of expression they longed for.

Fans of the winning team cornered and stoned to death dozens of opposing team supporters:

At least 70 people have been killed in clashes after a football game in the Egyptian city of Port Said. [...]

Fans of the winning al-Masry team flooded the field seconds after the match with al-Ahly, Egypt's top team, was over.

A security official said the fans chased the players and cornered their supporters on the field and around the stadium, throwing stones and bottles at them.

The National Post is reporting some of the deaths were from stab wounds.

A member of the newly elected Egyptian parliament has called for al Qaeda's emir to return to the country "with his head held high and safely."

Aboud al Zomor, who served as the first emir of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad and was later imprisoned for his role in President Anwar Sadat's assassination, said that he welcomes Ayman al Zawahiri's return to Egypt and that he would be given safe haven, according to a report published yesterday in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat. The report was translated from Arabic by the Foundation For Defense of Democracies.

"When asked if he saw any danger in al Zawahiri's return, al Zomor said that 'he was not a threat to Egypt, the likes of al Zawahiri differed with the previous regime and they were only a danger for this regime and not for Egypt, and now he is liberating Afghanistan and Iraq...'" the report stated. Zomor also lamented that the US would be opposed to Zawahiri's return to Egypt.

Zomor denied having direct contact with members of al Qaeda, and claims to have renounced violence.

"I've distanced myself from that currently because I took the political line and closed the page on the past, as a result of which doors to peaceful action opened for us," he told Al-Sharq Al-Awsat.

Zomor is one of the primary founders of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, the terrorist group that merged with al Qaeda. Zawahiri succeeded Zomor as the group's emir and presided over its merger with bin Laden's terror group in the 1990s.

Sunny Islam, 23, who comes from a strict Muslim family, dragged his terrified victims - including a 15-year-old - from the street at knifepoint, bound and assaulted them during a two-month reign of terror.

If Sunny is a "strict" or "practising" Muslim as he claims, then it should be noted that Muhammad is his perfect example of conduct. Muhammad made the rape of non-Muslim women a legitimate form of jihad by his own words and examples.

A U.S. Air Force Special Investigation report on the attack that was released last week concluded that Gul, 46, acted alone, and it found no evidence that the attack was connected to the Taliban or insurgents. It noted reports of Gul’s mental and financial problems, but it did not mention Gul’s failure to learn English as a possible motive.

The report also failed to mention any ideological motivation.

VOA:

A series of coordinated bombings in the northern Nigerian city of Kano have left scores dead. News reports say at least 120 people were killed Friday in attacks that targeted police stations and government buildings.

The radical Islamist group Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

A 24-hour curfew is in force in the predominately Muslim city, Nigeria's second largest.

Salusi Radiu, a reporter for VOA's Hausa Service, says that over a period of 90 minutes, he counted more than 24 blasts in Kano. Abubakar Jibril, the city's emergency coordinator, described conditions as chaotic following the attacks.

A spokesman for Boko Haram told reporters the bombings were in retaliation for the arrest of several sect members in Kano.

The militant group is blamed for increased attacks in Nigeria, including a Christmas Day bombing near a Catholic church on the edge of Abuja, the Nigerian capital, that left nearly 40 people dead.

Nigeria is divided between a largely Christian south and a mostly Muslim north.

Despite a state of emergency declared by the country's president, Goodluck Jonathan, the attacks across northern Nigeria and in the southern capital have continued unabated.

Boko Haram, whose name means "Western education is sacrilegious" in Hausa, the main language of the north, says it is working to implement Islamic law across Nigeria, Africa's most populous country.

In doing a little research for my last post, I found this article by Muqtedar Khan. If there is a moderate voice in Islam, this man certainly seems to have it.

If [Jihadis] want to fight and die for God, they are welcome. There are over 200,000 American soldiers, in Iraq and Afghanistan, who are there specifically to oblige them. Why not go and fight them?

These cowards, who call themselves Jihadis, run and hide from soldiers seeking to fight them and instead target helpless and unarmed civilians. They repeatedly confirm that they have no regard for social order, for law, for human life and even for the sacred injunctions from the God whose pleasure they seek through violence.

Admirably, Khan acknowledges himself as being in one of two minorities in Islam, the first being those Muslims who speak out against terrorism and Islamic violence, and the second being those who commit the violence in the name of Allah.

A majority of Muslims, Khan claims, are those who simply ignore or deny "Jihad" while at the same time, making excuses for its existence.

The article is worth a read.

Wow, he was convicted on the testimony of one person? Apparently it's a lot easier to be convicted for blasphemy than adultery under sharia?

On the basis of one witness' testimony, Mr Almaribe was sentenced to 525 lashes and the equivalent of nine months in prison.

Mr Almaribe, who has diabetes, heart disease and broke his back in a 2004 car accident, did not believe he would live.

The Department of Foreign Affairs, in a letter to the family, said the judge had said his crimes could cause sedition.

''The embassy notes the Saudi authorities are currently extremely sensitive to perceived Shia incitement of sectarian discord,'' the letter said.

Remember when you read about this attack on a Mosque in Nigeria...

Red Cross spokesman Nwakpa O. Nwakpa said the attack occurred in Benin City, where an angry mob tried to burn down a mosque the day before. Nwakpa said there were casualties in the attack Tuesday, but said he had no further details.

It has nothing to do with the fact that Boko Haram, an al-Qaeda linked Islamist terror group has been murdering and displacing Christians for quite some time now.

LAHORE: A man wrote that his name was ‘Jew Jurian’ on his national identity card form. The data entry clerk then assumed he was a Jew. Thus for the first time in the history of Computerised National Identity Cards (CNIC), a Pakistani was officially declared a Jew.

The problem was that he was a Christian.

The bigger problem for Jurian, as he told The Express Tribune, was that he was accused of being a Jew – and subsequently, through the twisted logic of twisted souls, of blasphemy.

After thorough investigations, Jurian was released by the police, along with three others, in May 2003. Almost nine years later, he and his family still face death threats.

The Arabic word ‘Da’wa’ means the “call to Islam.” But do not think that Da’wa is the same thing as an invitation to an optional holiday event. Scores of vociferous Muslims from the group known as the Islamic Reform Movement (Garis) terrorized members of the congregation who came to the church’s New Year’s Eve service in Bogor, GKI Yasmin spokesman Bona Sigalingging said.

Garis chairman Majudien was infuriated by the sticker and began to run after the car. The incident led the congregation to disband and move the service to the home of one of the members.

“What is the aim of that sticker being put there? That is a provocative action against us, the Muslims of Bogor,” Majudien said.

Religion of something something....

MOGADISHU, Somalia — The girl’s voice dropped to a hush as she remembered the bright, sunny afternoon when she stepped out of her hut and saw her best friend buried in the sand, up to her neck.

Her friend had made the mistake of refusing to marry a Shabab commander. Now she was about to get her head bashed in, rock by rock.

“You’re next,” the Shabab warned the girl, a frail 17-year-old who was living with her brother in a squalid refugee camp.

Several months later, the men came back. Five militants burst into her hut, pinned her down and gang-raped her, she said. They claimed to be on a jihad, or holy war, and any resistance was considered a crime against Islam, punishable by death.

The Shabab militant group, which presents itself as a morally righteous rebel force and the defender of pure Islam, is seizing women and girls as spoils of war, gang-raping and abusing them as part of its reign of terror in southern Somalia

Tragic and sad Christmas in Texas, I've been confused, apparently some members of the Iranian family are Christian or at least celebrate Christmas. That coupled with reports of separations and a bankruptcy made me cautious.

But looking today its coming out that the father who murdered 6 and then killed himself was Muslim. Also he is reported to have been particularly insistent that his daughters dated only Muslims.

Friends of the family said Fatemeh Rahmati’s 58-year-old sister, Zohreh Rahmaty, and her husband, Hossein Zarei, 59, and daughter Sahra Zarei, a 22-year-old pre-med student at the University of Texas at Arlington, also were killed.

Aziz Yazdanpanah seemed to be losing control of his life in recent months — his wife left him, his house was in foreclosure, and his 19-year-old daughter was dating a young man he didn’t like.

Yazdanpanah, a volunteer high school debate coach described as a doting father, is the focus of suspicion a day after a Christmas morning massacre in which a man dressed as Santa Claus killed six relatives and then committed suicide.

Neighbors said the family was Muslim but had always hung Christmas lights on their home — except this year. . . .

But a more ominous portrait emerged of Yazdanpanah in interviews with some of his daughter’s other classmates.

“She would come to school crying and telling us her dad was crazy,” said Lacie Reed, 18. “He wouldn’t let her wear certain things. He was always taking her phone away, checking her call history and checking her text messages.”

...“She couldn’t date at all until she was a certain age, but when he was going to let her date she couldn’t date anyone outside of their race or religion,” Reed said. “He would take her phone away and her mother would give it back to her and her brother would let her use his phone,” Alvarenga said. “She was doing good. She was just excited that her life was going to start and she was going to have control of it.” . . .

Why this is almost as shocking and unexpected as the Death of Jameela Messenger of Allah.

Nearly half of the terror plots aimed at the city since 1992 have targeted Jewish people or institutions, prompting police to ramp up security around such facilities during the holiday season, according to an NYPD intelligence analysis.

Friday, police Commissioner Ray Kelly said there was no specific threat against the city around the Christmas holiday season but that officers were remaining on alert as has become the usual practice.

The intelligence division study showed that in addition to Jews being targeted in eight of 18 plots in the city since 1992, there have been 44 suspected terrorists who have lived in the five boroughs. Aside from Samir Khan, editor of the al-Qaida-linked Inspire who was killed in September in a drone attack in Yemen, all the other suspects have been arrested in prior cases. The NYPD intelligence findings was first reported Thursday by Reuters.

ISLAMABAD, 15 DEC: Pakistani Taliban fighters cut the breasts of a woman who was breast-feeding her child and asked other women to eat the pieces, in a gory incident highlighted in a new report that details the abuse of women in the militancy-hit tribal belt bordering Afghanistan. The incident occurred when five militants walked into a house and saw the woman breast-feeding her child, The Express Tribune quoted the report titled 'Impact of crisis on women and girls in Fata (federally Administered Tribal Areas)' as saying.
The report, released by the human rights organisation “Khwendo Kor” (Sisters' Home, in Pashto) with financial support from the UN, is based on case studies of women from the tribal belt living in camps set up in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (earlier North West Frontier province of NFWP) for people displaced by militancy and military operations.

Women in the FATA are more susceptible to violence and abuse in a post-conflict scenario, whether or not they are part of the conflict, the report asserts. Another finding is that women in relief camps were forced to have sex for food and non-food items. Girls and widows were at greater risk of such abuse, it said. The report said there was an increase in “honour killings” in which women who were raped were murdered because rape was considered a disgrace to the family. Forced marriages, honour killings, exchange of women between tribes and marriages with first cousins resulting in disabilities among offspring have made women in the tribal areas increasingly dependent.

Literally....

Forty-five students, among them young children, were discovered held in chains in a basement when police raided an Islamic seminary in Pakistan last night.

The male students, some said to be as young as 12 but appearing even younger, were found in what amounted to a dungeon at the Madrassa Zakarya in the Sohrab Goth district of Karachi.

Led barefoot from their prison, captives told officers they had suffered regular beatings and been hung upside down as a form of punishment.

Sanaa TV, a local station, showed footage of the raid and the chained students, who danced and cried as police began to free them.

'We were kept in chains and hung upside down and beaten with sticks if we didn't comply. We were told that we would be given training to fight in Afghanistan,' one boy said.

Another told how Taliban fighters had visited the seminary, led prayers and told them to prepare for battle.

The madrassa officials claim that they had chained those students because they were drug addicts and they wanted to rehabilitate them and make them better Muslims,' he added.

(Paris, France) Famous French actress and singer Marie Laforêt faces court proceedings for alleged discrimination against Muslims in an advertisement she placed for hired help.

72-year-old Laforêt, who first found fame as an actress in the 1960s, placed an ad on an internet site looking for someone to carry out some work on her terrace in 2009, reported daily newspaper Le Parisien on Thursday.

She specified in the ad that "people with allergies or orthodox Muslims" should not apply "due to a small chihuahua."

Laforêt claimed that she made the stipulation because she believed the Muslim faith saw dogs as unclean.

The case was taken up by anti-discrimination organization Mrap, which lodged a complaint against the internet site which ran the ad.

A gang of Muslim women who attacked a passer-by in a city centre walked free from court after a judge heard they were ‘not used to being drunk’ because of their religion.

The group – three sisters and a cousin – allegedly screamed ‘kill the white slag’ as they set upon Rhea Page as she waited for a taxi with her boyfriend.

...‘We were just minding our own business but they kept shouting “white bitch” and “white slag” at me. When I turned around one of them grabbed my hair then threw me on the ground.

‘They were taking turns to kick me over and over. I thought they were going to kill me.’

For refusing the allow him to rape her.

Another Christian in Pakistan has been murdered, and the local Catholic Church is calling her a “martyr of the faith.”

The 18-year-old Amariah Masih (also reported as Mariah Manisha), a Catholic girl from the village of Tehsil Samundari, near Faisalabad, in Punjab province, was shot dead on November 27, after putting up resistance when a Muslim man abducted her with the intent to rape her. Fr. Khalid Rashid Asi, General Vicar of the Catholic diocese of Faisalabad told Fides, the Catholic news agency, that “cases like these occur daily in Punjab. It is very sad; Christians, often girls, are helpless victims.”

The girl’s mother, Razia Bibi, 50, told the Catholic media outlet AsiaNews that she and her daughter were riding on a motorbike on their way to pick up drinking water, which is not available in their village, when a man seized the motorbike, grabbed the young woman, and tried to drag her away at gunpoint. As she tried to pull away, the man opened fire, killing her instantly. According to AsiaNews, the 28-year-old Muslim Arif Gujjar, the son of a wealthy local landowner, is in police custody for questioning for the murder of Amariah.

Amariah’s funeral was presided over by Fr. Zafal Iqbal, who said to Fides: “She is a martyr. . . . The girl resisted, she did not want to convert to Islam and she did not marry the man, who killed her for this.” He explained to AsiaNews: “Wealthy and influential landowners often take aim at those who are marginalized and vulnerable, for their dirty interests.” In Pakistan, a rape victim is often imprisoned for unlawful sex and released on the condition that she marry her rapist. Because, under sharia, a Muslim cannot be married to a Christian, the women in such cases are also forced to convert to Islam. In its sharia courts, the testimony of a Christian is worth less than that of a Muslim, and a Christian woman’s is worth less yet. The whole system is rigged against the Christian woman.

Meanwhile, Ruqqiya Bibi, a Christian woman, was sentenced in Pakistan in late October to a 25-year prison term for blasphemy on accusations that she defiled a Koran after handling it with unclean hands. Mrs. Bibi is not to be confused with Asia Bibi, a Christian mother of five who was convicted of blasphemy following a dispute with other Muslim women with whom she had been working as a field hand, and who remains imprisoned after being sentenced to death a year ago.

Pakistan’s minister of minority affairs, Shahbaz Bhatti, also a Catholic, was murdered earlier this year, as was Punjab governor Salman Taseer, a Muslim, for calling for the repeal of the nation’s blasphemy law. Pakistan’s harsh blasphemy law is notoriously vague and ever expanding to include new applications.

There is a special place in heaven for Amariah Masih, and a special place in hell for Arif Gujjar.

Khalid Saheed fled Afghanistan because after leaving Islam he has been threatened with death for apostasy.

Letter To The Government of Sweden and Migration Board:

I am writing to you on behalf of Khalid Saeed’s petition to remain in Sweden, a petition which you have denied. I implore you to revisit his case.

His life—and Sweden’s reputation for fairness and morality are both at stake.

Khalid Saeed and his family have been living in Sweden since 2009. Saeed joined the 5% of the Swedish population who are Muslims. However, unlike Muslims who have rioted and/or who have refused to assimilate in Sweden, Khalid is a pro-Western apostate.

This is precisely why he fled Pakistan. Apostasy is a capital crime in Islam, and so is any preference shown to Western ways of thought.

Khalid Saeed was a car dealer in Islamabad, Pakistan. He is married and has three children. Once he made his views known, he was threatened. He fled. In his own words, he claims:

“I have never worshipped Allah nor do I or my wife, Asia, believe in Islam as the only truth for mankind. I have distanced myself from Islam years ago. That is my curse. My wife, the mother to our children, agrees. She will not see her daughter brought up in a society where women are only half humans and neither will I.

"As parents we also do not want to stand (helpless) on the side line and watch our two lovely and open-minded boys being forced into any kind of holy jihad group or society whose only objective is to oppress, threaten, and intimidate others to blindly follow the pitiless words of the profane muslim prophet Mohammad and his followers’ medieval Islamic sharia laws.”

Anyone who sounds like this in Pakistan, or in any Pakistani Muslim community in the world is a dead man.

And yet, you have refused him asylum in Sweden. I strongly disagree with your ruling on his application for asylum.

I assume you are familiar with the fate of apostates: Muslims who convert to Christianity or who describe themselves as “humanists” or “secularists,” or who believe in freedom of religion.

Sweden’s own 2010 Report on Human Rights in Pakistan confirms that religious minorities are severely persecuted in Pakistan as are any people who are in favor of free speech, academic freedom, and independent thought. For example, the governor of the Punjab (in Pakistan) was assassinated when he wanted to pursue reforms against blasphemy laws.

The International Humanist and Ethical Union, which was founded in Amsterdam, spent years campaigning for the life of physician and human rights activist Dr. Younus Sheikh who languished on Death Row in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

We know that many Muslims are not friendly toward any infidel religion, including Christians, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, etc. Christians have been—and still are—being savagely persecuted in Muslim lands. I and many others have written about this often. Author and apostate Nonie Darwish and ex-Muslim secularist Ibn Warraq have both spoken out about this burning issue.

Christians are being savagely persecuted in Egypt and all across the Middle East and Islamic world.

In Pakistan, Christians have literally been crucified, teenaged Christian girls have been kidnapped, raped, then forced to marry their rapists and convert to Islam.

Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, do not allow Christians, Jews, or other “infidels” to pray openly or to build any or new houses of worship.

The Arab Muslim Middle East is almost completely “Judenrein,” (free of Jews) since more than 800,000 Arab Jews were exiled or forced to flee their countries between 1948-1968.

In 2010, in Pakistan, a Muslim mob attacked a Christian man and slaughtered him with pick-axes for refusing to convert to Islam.

According to Mina Nevisa, an Iranian Muslim convert to Christianity who wrote a book about her experiences, both she and her female cousin were attending an underground church in Teheran. Nevis fled Iran together with her husband. Her cousin was not so lucky. “She was arrested on charges of Apostasy and taken to Evin prison, where she was raped, tortured, and then killed by a firing squad. The pastor was also killed.”

The situation for Muslim apostates in Europe is also perilous. High profile apostates, such as Egyptian-Italian Magdi Christiano Allam, who was converted to Catholicism by the Pope, lives with six round-the-clock bodyguards. Aayan Hirsi Ali, the Somali-Dutch-American apostate-secularist, also requires a full time security detail. People who do not have public profiles, who are not academics, intellectuals, politicians, or public speakers, also face similar problems.

In 2001, “Sabatina James” (a pseudonym) fled from Austria to Germany and went into hiding to escape being honor-murdered by her family after she converted from Islam to Christianity. Her family had immigrated from Pakistan.

“Sabatina’s” troubles began when she was 15 years old. Because she dared to wear lipstick and blue jeans, she was mercilessly beaten. When she rejected marriage to a cousin, “Sabatina” was sent to a Qur’anic school in Lahore, where she was repeatedly flogged. She finally agreed to the marriage—but only in order to be able to return to Austria. Then, when she was 19 years old, she fled.

In 2009, Iraqi-born Vian Bakir Fatah was stabbed to death by her Iraqi ex-husband in Norway. She had converted to Christianity and had a new boyfriend. Her ex-husband murdered her in the presence of their four children.

In the past, Sweden has presumably been at the forefront of human rights activism and legislation. Now, in this case, it seems that Sweden has failed its own stated ideals.

Given the information that I and others are providing, I strongly urge you to reconsider Khalid Saeed’s case. If not, his blood, and the blood of his wife and children will be on Swedish hands.

Repealing a ban on women drivers in Saudi Arabia would result in ‘no more virgins’, the country’s religious council has warned.

A ‘scientific’ report claims relaxing the ban would also see more Saudis - both men and women - turn to homosexuality and pornography.

The startling conclusions were drawn by Muslim scholars at the Majlis al-Ifta’ al-A’ala, Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council, working in conjunction with Kamal Subhi, a former professor at the King Fahd University.

The study was based on an Imam sitting in a Coffee shop with a bunch of slutty Muslimas in an unnamed Arab state.

British police say 22 people have been arrested outside of the US embassy in London during a protest over the use of military drones in Pakistan.

Scotland Yard confirmed the arrests on Friday at the demonstration organised by a group calling itself United Ummah.

The demonstration was advertised as a gathering that would include Friday prayers outside of the US embassy to draw attention to "the murder of Muslims with drones".

(Mexico City, Mexico) Mexican Foreign Secretary Patricia Espionosa has denied claims made during the Republican presidential debate that Islamists are operating in Mexico.

“We were very surprised when assertions were made during the debate without providing any kind of element of respect,” the foreign secretary said, referring to allegations that members of the radical Islamic groups Hamas and Hezbollah were using Mexico to enter the United States.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a leading contender for the GOP nomination, said during Tuesday night’s debate on foreign policy that Hezbollah was operating in Mexico and other Latin American countries.

A Christian worker has launched a landmark legal action after she lost her job when she blew the whistle on what she says was a campaign of "race hate" by fundmentalist Muslims.

Nohad Halawi, who worked at Heathrow Airport, is suing her former employers for unfair dismissal, claiming that she and other Christian staff at the airport were victims of systematic harassment because of their religion.

She claims that she was told that she would go to Hell for her religion, that Jews were responsible for the September 11th terror attacks, and that a friend was reduced to tears having been bullied for wearing a cross.

See, Muslims are allowed to practice religious discrimination and persecution against other groups because its fundamental to Islam to do so. Its part of their religion to persecute others, so if you refuse them that right you are a discriminating against Islam?

Also, I'd be remiss not to mention that Christians are not allowed to preach the Gospel to Muslims in Muslim nations. But we allow them to preach at Heathrow?

A much smarter policy would be one of reciprocity, allow Christians and others to preach the Gospel in Dar al-Islam and we'll return that favor and allow you to preach your backward, barbaric, Prince of Lies BS in the west.

Sounds fair to me but I'm sure the Islamists would say that its against Islam to allow religious freedom to non Muslims.

Religion of not teaching girls to read.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AFP) — A bomb attack on a girls’ school in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday killed a policeman, wounded eight others and destroyed a wall, police said.

The remote-controlled bomb was planted at the outer wall of the government-run middle school in the outskirts of Mardan town in troubled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan.

The bomb exploded after police arrived to investigate complaints about a suspicious plastic bag outside the school, which was closed at the time.

“One policeman was killed and eight other people including five civilians were wounded,” Zeshan Haider, Mardan police chief, told AFP by telephone.

Allowing countries where we've spilled so much blood to have Sharia enshrined in their constitution is the most retarded thing the United States has ever done.

In Afghanistan, this brought her not sympathy, but prosecution. Aged just 19, she was found guilty by the courts of sex outside of marriage -- adultery -- and sentenced to twelve years in jail.

The only way around the dishonor of rape, or adultery in the eyes of Afghans, is to marry her attacker. This will, in the eyes of some, give her child a family and restore her honor.

News is starting to leak about the arrest this weekend of a New York City man who planned to bomb police and military facilities. The NY Post reports:

The NYPD and Manhattan DA’s office have arrested a terror suspect who was planning to bomb city police facilities and US military sites, where he plotted to target returning war personnel and the families who gathered to welcome them home, The Post has learned.

The suspect, who lives in Manhattan, was arrested after he actually purchased bomb-making materials, sources said. He’d been on the authorities’ radar for about a year, the sources said.

It wasn’t immediately clear exactly where he planned to attack.

We can report here exclusively at PJM that the man arrested is Jose Pimentel of Harlem. On his Facebook page he describes himself as:
