Khalid Saheed fled Afghanistan because after leaving Islam he has been threatened with death for apostasy.

Our good friend Phyllis Chesler is writing on his behalf.

Letter To The Government of Sweden and Migration Board:

I am writing to you on behalf of Khalid Saeed’s petition to remain in Sweden, a petition which you have denied. I implore you to revisit his case.

His life—and Sweden’s reputation for fairness and morality are both at stake.

Khalid Saeed and his family have been living in Sweden since 2009. Saeed joined the 5% of the Swedish population who are Muslims. However, unlike Muslims who have rioted and/or who have refused to assimilate in Sweden, Khalid is a pro-Western apostate.

This is precisely why he fled Pakistan. Apostasy is a capital crime in Islam, and so is any preference shown to Western ways of thought.

Khalid Saeed was a car dealer in Islamabad, Pakistan. He is married and has three children. Once he made his views known, he was threatened. He fled. In his own words, he claims:

“I have never worshipped Allah nor do I or my wife, Asia, believe in Islam as the only truth for mankind. I have distanced myself from Islam years ago. That is my curse. My wife, the mother to our children, agrees. She will not see her daughter brought up in a society where women are only half humans and neither will I.

"As parents we also do not want to stand (helpless) on the side line and watch our two lovely and open-minded boys being forced into any kind of holy jihad group or society whose only objective is to oppress, threaten, and intimidate others to blindly follow the pitiless words of the profane muslim prophet Mohammad and his followers’ medieval Islamic sharia laws.”

Anyone who sounds like this in Pakistan, or in any Pakistani Muslim community in the world is a dead man.

And yet, you have refused him asylum in Sweden. I strongly disagree with your ruling on his application for asylum.

I assume you are familiar with the fate of apostates: Muslims who convert to Christianity or who describe themselves as “humanists” or “secularists,” or who believe in freedom of religion.

Sweden’s own 2010 Report on Human Rights in Pakistan confirms that religious minorities are severely persecuted in Pakistan as are any people who are in favor of free speech, academic freedom, and independent thought. For example, the governor of the Punjab (in Pakistan) was assassinated when he wanted to pursue reforms against blasphemy laws.

The International Humanist and Ethical Union, which was founded in Amsterdam, spent years campaigning for the life of physician and human rights activist Dr. Younus Sheikh who languished on Death Row in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

We know that many Muslims are not friendly toward any infidel religion, including Christians, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, etc. Christians have been—and still are—being savagely persecuted in Muslim lands. I and many others have written about this often. Author and apostate Nonie Darwish and ex-Muslim secularist Ibn Warraq have both spoken out about this burning issue.

Christians are being savagely persecuted in Egypt and all across the Middle East and Islamic world.

In Pakistan, Christians have literally been crucified, teenaged Christian girls have been kidnapped, raped, then forced to marry their rapists and convert to Islam.

Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, do not allow Christians, Jews, or other “infidels” to pray openly or to build any or new houses of worship.

The Arab Muslim Middle East is almost completely “Judenrein,” (free of Jews) since more than 800,000 Arab Jews were exiled or forced to flee their countries between 1948-1968.

In 2010, in Pakistan, a Muslim mob attacked a Christian man and slaughtered him with pick-axes for refusing to convert to Islam.

According to Mina Nevisa, an Iranian Muslim convert to Christianity who wrote a book about her experiences, both she and her female cousin were attending an underground church in Teheran. Nevis fled Iran together with her husband. Her cousin was not so lucky. “She was arrested on charges of Apostasy and taken to Evin prison, where she was raped, tortured, and then killed by a firing squad. The pastor was also killed.”

The situation for Muslim apostates in Europe is also perilous. High profile apostates, such as Egyptian-Italian Magdi Christiano Allam, who was converted to Catholicism by the Pope, lives with six round-the-clock bodyguards. Aayan Hirsi Ali, the Somali-Dutch-American apostate-secularist, also requires a full time security detail. People who do not have public profiles, who are not academics, intellectuals, politicians, or public speakers, also face similar problems.

In 2001, “Sabatina James” (a pseudonym) fled from Austria to Germany and went into hiding to escape being honor-murdered by her family after she converted from Islam to Christianity. Her family had immigrated from Pakistan.

“Sabatina’s” troubles began when she was 15 years old. Because she dared to wear lipstick and blue jeans, she was mercilessly beaten. When she rejected marriage to a cousin, “Sabatina” was sent to a Qur’anic school in Lahore, where she was repeatedly flogged. She finally agreed to the marriage—but only in order to be able to return to Austria. Then, when she was 19 years old, she fled.

In 2009, Iraqi-born Vian Bakir Fatah was stabbed to death by her Iraqi ex-husband in Norway. She had converted to Christianity and had a new boyfriend. Her ex-husband murdered her in the presence of their four children.

In the past, Sweden has presumably been at the forefront of human rights activism and legislation. Now, in this case, it seems that Sweden has failed its own stated ideals.

Given the information that I and others are providing, I strongly urge you to reconsider Khalid Saeed’s case. If not, his blood, and the blood of his wife and children will be on Swedish hands.

If the country of Sweden doesn't do the right thing then the least we can do is offer Khalid Saheed a place here where he can be free. Damn crying shame we let Afghanistan keep this sixth century Sharia BS in its constitution to start with.

For each of the past two years, hospital volunteer Frank Cloyes spent one day as St. Nick, spreading good cheer and snacks to patients sitting through chemotherapy treatments. The 67-year-old James Island resident, a retired insurance executive who calls himself a "gregarious guy," paid for his own costume rental.

On Tuesday morning, a volunteer coordinator told Cloyes his services no longer were needed.

Instead, teachers should censor the toy box and replace the pointy black hat with a pink one, while dressing fairies, generally resplendent in pale pastels, in darker shades.

Another staple of the classroom - white paper - has also been questioned by Anne O'Connor, an early years consultant who advises local authorities on equality and diversity.

Children should be provided with paper other than white to drawn on and paints and crayons should come in "the full range of flesh tones", reflecting the diversity of the human race, according to the former teacher.

So, for those of you who haven't followed this, which includes Rusty, who thinks Wisconsin is a suburb of Canada, if that is even possible...here is some background and a timeline.

Scott Walker elected Gov in late 2010, Walker pushed Budget Repair Bill that removes union collective bargaining, unions go ballistic in February of 2010 while the Democratic Senators flee the state, a Supreme Court race in April is a "referendum on Scott Walker", the Republican candidate (Prosser) wins after a contentious recount, Prosser is accused of choking another Justice, and a union led recall by democrats fails to take majority rule in August.

After the choking accusation was passed like a hot potato from the Capitol Police to the Dane County Sheriff, to the Dane County Prosecutor who knew there was nothing there and in turn asked for a special prosecutor....Prosser is vindicated

So, what's next? I assume the collective Madison left's heads will explode for two reasons.

The first: This is the last of a long line of FAIL. Lost the governorship, lost union collective bargaining while their democrat senators lost every last shred of respect running to Illinois, lost the supreme court race which the unions heavily backed, failed to win the majority in the State government during union sponsored recalls, and failed to falsely bring down Justice Prosser. Fail x ...well...lots.

Second: There are a crap pile of liberal, feminists, and politicians that owe apologies. Public apologies since their public, sometimes flamboyant and sensational, pre-mature judgments were false. A random sampling follows of those that need to pucker up:

A middle school in Mass is in dire need of rottweiler therapy, for the Fitchburg School Committee:

A middle school in Massachusetts is under fire for requiring children to complete a graphic sex survey without parental knowledge or consent – that included questions about sexual partners and oral sex.

The Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties organization, filed a complaint with the U.S. Dept. of Education against the Fitchburg School Committee. They are representing the two middle-school aged daughters of Arlene Tessitore.

Mrs. Tessitore said her daughters, both students at Memorial Middle School, were told they had to complete a Youth Risk Behavior Study.

“Kids were actually told to sit down and take them,” said John Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute. “The parents here are very upset.”

Whitehead said the girls were deeply disturbed by the subject matter of the study – including questions about suicide, drug use and sexual behavior.

Political correctness run amok...

Staff at all three Butlin resorts in Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness are instructed to ban anyone found guilty of bumping into each other in the electric cars equipped with huge bumpers.

Bemused customers who assume that the ‘no bumping sign’ is in jest are told to drive around slowly in circles rather than crash into anyone else for fear of an injury that could result in the resort being sued.

Diversity, freedom of expression, and equal protection for all - It's as American as you can get, and it has always been the ultimate goal of all American battles. And yet that conflicts with Goshen College's "core values":

Goshen College, a Mennonite school in Indiana, has become a target of public outrage over its decision to ban the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at sporting events because it conflicts with the school's core values.

“We recognize that some people may not be satisfied with this decision, but we believe it is the right one for Goshen College,” Ricky Stiffney, chairman of the college’s board of directors, said in a written statement. “The board has a diversity of views on this issue as reflected through the process of considering the anthem.”

Do their "core values" include defending freedom and liberty or blind submission? Why are they even in America? How can they justify enjoying America's religious freedoms that were acquired by "violence" and "battles"?

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) — Two people were stabbed in a seemingly random attack at a Twin Cities library.

After the incident Wednesday night at the Oxboro Library in Bloomington, 35-year-old Samira Abdalla Salim was arrested.

Salim was no stranger to the Oxboro Library. She had a reputation for handing out the Koran and talking religion outside the building.

“They had some issues with her harassing other patrons,” said Bloomington Police Commander Mark Stehlik. [...]

Salim is accused of stabbing two people. The first victim was a woman who was walking into the library.

“The next thing she knew, she felt a sharp pain in the middle of her back and realized she had been stabbed,” said Stehlik.

The second was a security guard who heard the victim’s cry for help. He went to talk to Salim in the parking lot.

“Spoke to her briefly and then she actually stabbed him as well. Stabbed him in the abdomen,” said Stehlik. (Source)

Gil Scott-Heron died Friday afternoon in New York, his book publisher reported. He was 62. The influential poet and musician is often credited with being one of the progenitors of hip-hop, and is best known for the spoken-word piece "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised."

Then way down there, at the end of the page....hmmm... You tell me, is it just more politically correct to kick a dead white Junkie in paragraph one.

Patrick Poole has been reporting extensively here at Pajamas on the Justice Department scuttling terrorist prosecutions against “Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) co-founder Omar Ahmad.” Poole reported a “high-placed DOJ source told me the case was nixed to prevent embarrassment to the Obama administration and to avoid inflaming the Muslim community.”

Sources at the DOJ tell me that Thursday May 19 will be Islamic movie day at the DOJ. A 1pm matinee is scheduled. Specifically, Civil Rights Division employees at the DOJ have been invited to take off work, and trek across town to the 7th floor conference center at Main Justice to view the documentary film “Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think.” No word on whether the DOJ will host a sequel called “What the Other 570,000,000 Muslims Think.”[Continue reading..]

Animal lovers should stop calling their furry or feathered friends “pets” because the term is insulting, leading academics claim.

..n its first editorial, the journal – jointly published by Prof Linzey’s centre and the University of Illinois in the US – condemns the use of terms such as ”critters” and “beasts”.

I bleeve I'd listen to her boys.

The panel also found that labeling pet rocks as inanimate was also insensitive.

When confronted with the fact that suggested new terms were also just "labels" and subject to connotation the panel looked confused and said they'd get back with us.

" Third Palestinian Intifada," established on Facebook less than a month ago, calls for a third Palestinian uprising to begin May 15. The page, which as of March 27 had more than 330,000 friends,[346,041 as of this writing...ed] includes quotes and film clips calling for killing Jews and Israelis, and for "liberating" Jerusalem and Palestine using violence. It also directs users to related content on Twitter, YouTube and elsewhere.

In a statement released to several media outlets, Facebook commented on the Third Palestinian Intifada page controversy.

"While some kinds of comments and content may be upsetting for someone -- criticism of a certain culture, country, religion, lifestyle, or political ideology, for example -- that alone is not a reason to remove the discussion," the statement said. "We strongly believe that Facebook users have the ability to express their opinions, and we don't typically take down content, groups or Pages that speak out against countries, religions, political entities, or ideas."

Political Correctness gone mad.

This is also the same session where Suhail Khan, a board member of the American Conservative Union (which organizes CPAC), made the laughable claim that "there is no Muslim Brotherhood in the United States".

What next, allowing Muslim students to fight non-Muslim students until they convert or pay jizya? That is a religious requirement, after all.

A Detroit-area district says it's allowing Sikh students to wear a small, religious dagger to school, MyFoxDetroit.com reports.

...The kirpan represents a commitment to fight evil in the Sikh tradition. The dagger is a religious symbol that baptized Sikh males are expected to carry. (Source)

Now, I have nothing against Sikhs. They get a bad rap because they are often mistaken for Muslims. But to open the door to any religious weapon in school is a dangerous precedent in my opinion. In this day and age when even wearing rosary beads can get you expelled, how is a weapon, in any way, justified?

(Lancashire, England) Political correctness advocates successfully forced the Lancashire School Meals Service to change 'gingerbread man' to 'gingerbread person' on the menus of 400 primary schools.

Parents complained. Expressing outrage, an Avenging Gingerbread Man was created.

The Lancashire County Council is reportedly backing down. A spokesperson said the change was made to amuse rather than offend.

Yeah, sure it was.

With the attack on an Iraqi church and the mailbombs addressed to an American synagogue, while the media worry about Islamophobia—Christians and Jews once again find themselves in the Muslim line of fire.

Just last week we were witness to the spectacle of a black NPR liberal being dragged through the muck, accused of being insane or racist, for even conceding that he was worried by Muslim terrorism. The indictment of Islamophobia is that it is somehow an irrational or unreasoning fear. But if a group is actively trying to kill you, then how can fear of it possibly be unreasonable?

....Liberals are operating in a world in which there is no active and present danger from Islam. But that’s something they need to pass on to the survivors of the Church massacre, the teenage girls executed in Somalia, to Farooq Ahmed who wanted to bomb Washington D.C. subway stations, to the Frenchmen kidnapped in Niger or any of the victims of the other incidents involving the Religion of Peace that didn’t occur nine years ago, but this week and this month.

The New York Times has published a piece by Robert Wright claiming that Islamophobia and Homophobia have a lot in common. The most obvious thing they have in common, is that Muslims don’t like gay people either. Or women. Or Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, Hindus, atheists… and well let’s face it, pretty much everyone else. Muslims are still killing each other over religion, at a time when members of other religions settle their differences with sternly worded editorials.

The recent synod to address the decline of Christianity in the Middle East took place in a strange vacuum, like a conference to discuss the reason why there’s no more space in the living room and the couch has been crushed—without ever mentioning the elephant in the room....

The reason for their silence was all too plain. Islamophobia.

And by that I don’t mean that they wanted to torch a Koran or profile terrorists in airports—but that they are actually afraid of Islam. Being afraid of Islam is a normal state for people living in Muslim countries. Or even in countries with large numbers of Muslims in them... ...Islamophobia is the natural product of being an oppressed minority living among people who follow religious texts that command them to persecute and kill non-Muslims.

Researchers find "liberal gene".

BTW -- In one of my lives I am a political scientist. And actually knowing something about these kinds of studies I'm pretty sure they are mostly bogus. Sure, they have "statistically significant findings" which sounds nice to amateurs. But the power of their independent variables are pretty low. Meaning that if genetics does play a role, it's a very minor one.

What's even worse is the theory behind the already weak power of the statistics. Since they only look at social factors when operationalizing "liberal" and "conservative", they miss the economic elephant in the room: liberals are far more risk averse than conservatives in their economic lives. Which seems to me like kind of a big deal.

About 18 months ago everybody's favourite Ex-Canadian Human Rights Commission employee Richard Warman launched one of his many, as in very many, SLAPP suits against yours truly for, among other dastardly deeds, linking to the "far-right web site http://www.steynonline.com/". Sheesh everybody knows Mark Steyn is controversial.

...Warman is suing me for $500,000.00 Dollars. A ridiculous amount for an equally ridiculous lawsuit. Nonetheless even nuisance suits such as this must be defended against. To date legal fees have run me about 10K. I've covered that from my own pocket. I am now asking for your help. I know times are hard for many of us but if every reader who visited daily were to contribute 5 or 10 dollars then that would go a long way to helping all of us out.

This week in Washington, top officials charged with counter-terrorism duties attended an event hosted by the Bipartisan Policy Center. Members of the Center for Security Policy's TEAM B II were there to ask them specific questions. Watch them dance around and obfuscate in response to questions by Diana West, Frank Gaffney and Christine Brim.

These men-- including Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and FBI Director Robert Mueller-- are America's most senior officers in counter-terrorism, and they spend more time and mental energy defending a politically correct vision of the world than defending actual Americans. Does this convey confidence in your national security team?

A group of high-ranking Democrat and Republican intelligence, military and national security officials are set to release a report today, "Shariah: The Threat to America", at a press conference on Capitol Hill this afternoon. Included in the group is former CIA Director James Woolsey, former DIA director Lt. Gen. Harry Soyster, former Defense Undersecretary for Intelligence Lt Gen. Jerry Boykin and former Clinton federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy.

Frank Gaffney, director of the Center for Security Policy, said the Obama administration's policy is based on an incorrect assumption. The Team B report seeks to expose flaws in anti-terror programs, including the policy of not referring to al Qaeda and similar groups as "Islamist" to avoid offending Muslims, he said.

"What if it turns out that some of the people the Obama administration has been embracing are actually promoting the same totalitarian ideology and seditious agenda as al Qaeda, only they're doing it from White House Iftar dinners?" said Mr. Gaffney, referring to the daily meal eaten by Muslims to break their fast during Ramadan.

The group of experts was modeled after the official CIA Team B, whose 1976 contrary analysis said U.S. intelligence assessments had underestimated Soviet nuclear forces. That Team B report led to the military buildup under the Reagan administration.

John Brennan, deputy White House national security adviser for counterterrorism, told The Washington Times in June that he disagrees that "there is an Islamic dimension to terrorism."

The administration's policy of not using the word Islam and its derivatives to describe today's fundamentalist terrorists is aimed at "not according these individuals any religious legitimacy," he said.

But I suspect this report will make the case that Al-Qaeda might actually have religious legitimacy in light of Islam's call for global domination and jihad waged against all who do not submit.

Rauf refuses to call Hamas a terrorist group/blames US for 9/11 and our State Dept is sending him on a bridge building mission to the ME. Again, WTF?

Ultimately, in response to repeated questions, a member of Rauf's New York Cordoba Initiative foundation e-mailed me Friday, saying that Rauf's trip to the Middle East, "in the near future," will be hosted by the U.S. government as part of an outreach program to "bring the message of moderation, peace and understanding."

At the State Department, which presumably will be spending taxpayer money on Rauf's tour, I have yet to receive confirmation or any other information about his program, despite three days of my repeated requests by phone and e-mail. Apparently it is taking a while for State's Bureau of Public Diplomacy to get "clearance" to release any details of this particular public outreach effort, though Rauf's wife says it has been in the works for months.

The official terminology for foreign citizens illegally in the United States has been amended once again. It appears that "undocumented immigrant" is no longer sufficient, now the illegal alien trespassers can be called "displaced foreign travelers."

How nice! The U.S. government is referring to illegal aliens as if they were tourists on the wrong bus.

Credit for the addition to the government lexicon can be attributed to Assistant Public Affairs Officer Rita Vollmer of the U.S. Forest Service.

North Korea executed a former Cabinet official who was in charge of talks with South Korea, a news report said Tuesday, the latest reported death sentence for a North Korean official over policy failures.

In March, the North executed two senior economic officials over a botched currency revamp that forced markets to close temporarily and fueled social tensions, according to Daily NK, a Seoul-based media outlet that specializes in the North.

It is not unprecedented for the communist regime to execute officials for policy failures. In the 1990s, North Korea publicly executed a top agricultural official following widespread famine.

During a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, John Brennan described violent extremists as victims of "political, economic and social forces,"but said that those plotting attacks on the United States should not be described in "religious terms."
