Experts on Islam and terrorism are decrying the Department of Homeland Security’s recently revealed anti-terrorism training guidelines, which pressure cops to ignore Islamic beliefs when investigating terror crimes.

The Boston bombings demonstrated the impact of such training, Andrew McCarthy, a former New York prosecutor, told The Daily Caller.

“The Boston Marathon was bombed by a jihadist who had been investigated by the FBI … [and was confirmed in 2011 to be] an Islamist, which would have been hard not to do since he does not appear to have made any secret of it,” said McCarthy, who persuaded a New York jury in 1995 to convict “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel-Rahman for his use of Islamic teaching to spur jihad attacks, including the 1993 attack against the Twin Towers

Boston and Massachusetts law enforcement officials confirmed Thursday that federal agents left them in the dark on the growing warning signs about Tamerlan Tsarnaev in the run-up to the Boston Marathon bombing.

Boston Police Commissioner Edward Davis, in testimony on Capitol Hill, said his officers on a joint terrorism task force were never told about an explicit warning from the Russian government or about Tsarnaev's travel to the Chechnya region last year. Davis said he would have liked to have known about that activity, and that it "absolutely" would have merited a second look at Tsarnaev.

Davis and Massachusetts homeland security official Kurt Schwartz testified that their officers were not looped in on Tsarnaev until after the bombing.

"At no time prior to the bombings did any member of the Massachusetts State Police or the fusion center have any information or knowledge about the Tsarnaev brothers," Schwartz said. {More....]

A legal watchdog group says the State Department is stonewalling its efforts to obtain records relating to State Department official Mark Ward’s participation in a December 2012[3 months after Benghazi terror attack..ed] conference organized by the controversial Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).

Judicial Watch filed suit against the State Department April 26 in an effort to compel the release of materials related to the potential recruitment of U.S. diplomats through two Muslim-American groups purported to have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and terrorist groups.

The suit, which was announced Thursday, alleges that State has failed to comply with its Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for detailed documents related to Ward’s speech, in which he discussed “foreign service opportunities for Muslim youth.”

Both MAS and ICNA have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, the global Islamist movement that controls the Egyptian government and whose military wing, the terror group Hamas, runs the Gaza Strip. The conference at which Ward spoke featured speeches by at least two Muslim activists who have advocated in favor of terrorism and were involved in a 2009 lawsuit regarding fundraising for Hamas.

The University of North Carolina is denying an Iraq war veteran in-state tuition. At the same time, the university is considering giving illegal immigrants in-state tuition:

Perez was honorably discharged in September 2009, and, after giving birth to daughter Calleigh, and sought to build a post-military career. When her husband won a transfer back to Fort Bragg to rejoin his family, Perez started applying to colleges in the area in hopes of pursuing a master's degree as a physician's assistant. She told FoxNews.com she was accepted to both UNC’s Fayetteville and Pembroke branches and chose Pembroke. But Perez was shocked when UNC-Pembroke officials told her she was not considered an in-state resident, even though the Fayetteville branch said she was. The G.I. Bill Perez hoped to use for school does not cover out-of-state tuition. [...]

Adding insult to injury, says Thigpen, is the fact the UNC is currently considering granting in-state tuition benefits to illegal immigrants at all 16 of its branches, including Pembroke.

Her name is Perez. She should have just said, "no habla ingles" and pretended to be a non-citizen. UNC would have rolled out the red carpet for her.

It's a sad day when an illegal gets more benefits in America than a U.S. soldier.

The teacher reportedly told the 16-year-old student that the high school was a “Democratic school” and then threatened to use a marker to cross out Romney’s name.

Can you imagine the outrage if a teacher had a similar response to an Obama shirt? Or even a Che Guevara shirt?

Jews, Jews, Jews. Perpetual antagonists unless a moral equivalency can be drawn between the holocaust and that of politically correct "victims" which conveniences the leftist agenda. These days every "victim" of a perceived offense compares to the plight of Jews under Nazi Germany - Muslims, Christians, immigrants, Palestinians, politicians, animals...

Every victim is like "Jews in Nazi Germany", except of course, the actual Jewish victims of Nazi Germany!

But one California attorney is now comparing child molesters to the victims of the holocaust. Not that I'm comparing those listed above with child molesters, but "Like Jews in Nazi Germany" seems to have become an all-purpose gauge of victimization.

No, it isn't similar. It isn't even remotely close. Jews in Nazi Germany were innocent people persecuted solely because of their ethnicity and religion. Child molesters are criminals who prey on the weakest and most innocent in our society.

Have we really sunk so low that violating a child molester's "right" to give children candy compares with being cremated alive?

Was there an outcry when Christian churches were burned or blown up in the countries that do not tolerate other religions? How many of you have seen the beheading on camera of a young Arab convert to Christianity because he was considered an infidel? Yes, I saw his head cut off with a dull knife while blood spurt from his neck! There would have been more of an outcry from Hollywood if it was the slaughter of a seal!

What about the filmmaker who was killed in Holland for his film dealing with the treatment of woman in certain countries? So, while certain things are not politically correct to take on, it appears that others are fair game - like attacks on Scientology or Christianity or any other religion except of course, the most intolerant of all.

Haha, purchasing liquor from a liquor store! The clerks are too afraid to challenge a Muslimah, so they don't even ask for ID!

TORONTO - Three liquor stores recently sold booze to a 14-year-old boy whose identity was hidden because he was wearing a full-length burka and face veil at the time, a Sun News Network exclusive has found.

The teenager, clad in an Islamic female's traditional garb of a burka, headscarf and facial covering, shopped in three different LCBO stores north of Toronto last Wednesday.

The article notes that the Sun News, who organized the stunt, also tried to buy liquor using other facial coverings such as motorcycle helmets and Halloween masks. In those cases, the store clerk asked for ID and demanded the customer reveal his face.

I'm am certain, had these same clerks asked a real Muslimah to remove her facial covering, they would have been accused of discrimination and the government would have charged them with a hate crime.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. And that's just the position Islamists like to see the kufar.

Certainly, not all TSA agents are child molesters (accused or otherwise). But one has to wonder why a governmental security agency doesn't vet employees better. Any potential employee who will come in physical contact with clients - especially children - should undergo extra scrutiny before being hired. But it appears the TSA doesn't even have a minimum standard to protect passengers.

The fallen officer was killed in a Mosque 40 years ago after Black Muslims from the Nation of Islam called in a fake "officer down." When Officer Philip Cardillo arrived at the Mosque, he and his partner were ambushed by at least 15 men. Cardillo was shot point blank. Members of the Mosque then locked the doors so other officers and medics could not help the dying man.

Only one person was arrested for the crime. No one has ever been convicted.

Now, Officer Carillo's son and fellow officers want the street named after him. But the city wants permission from the leaders of the very same Mosque:

A New York police officer seeking to rename a Harlem street for a cop gunned down inside a Manhattan mosque 40 years ago was told by local leaders to seek the blessing of area Muslims.

NYPD Officer Philip Cardillo was shot dead in an infamous 1972 incident in which police responded to a fake “officer down” call from Muhammad Mosque No. 7, the New York headquarters for the Nation of Islam. The accused gunman was later acquitted, and the city's perceived unwillingness to back the police has long been seen as a low point in relations between city government and the police department. After four decades, NYPD Inspector and local Precinct Commander Rodney Harrison wants a section of 123rd St. named after Cardillo.

"It's been 40 years," retired NYPD cop Randy Jurgensen, who was at the mosque when Cardillo was killed, told FoxNews.com. "It would be closure for the Cardillo family and the police officers there that day."

In New York, the City Council typically approves street namings on the recommendation of local Community Boards. But members of Community Board 10, which represents the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan, have effectively blocked Harrison's plan by telling him to seek the approval of local Muslim leaders.

This PC insanity has to stop.

Raymond Ibrahim touches on a point Rusty (if my understanding is correct) has made in the past. As Raymond mentions in a follow-up post at Jihad Watch, it seems some commenters missed the point he was attempting to make.

Don't jump to immediate conclusions as you begin to read. Raymond (as Rusty has done here at TJR) makes an excellent argument for the use of terms such as "Islamist" and "Islamism":

Is the problem Islam or Islamism? Muslims or Islamists?

These and related questions regularly foster debate (see the exchange between Robert Spencer and Andrew McCarthy for a recent example). The greatest obstacle on the road to consensus is what such words imply; namely, that Islamism and Islamists are "bad," and Islam and Muslims are good (or simply neutral).

Read it all and read it carefully.

Update: I just wanted to agree with Robert Spencer on one specific point about this topic. That is, the distinction between "Islamist/Islamism" and "Muslim/Islam" is not intended to suggest there are different forms of Islam, but rather that Muslims tend to differ on how they observe their faith. The terms are meant to separate radical, violent Muslims from moderate Muslims, so as not to hold all Muslims accountable for the behavior of a few.

Khalid Saheed fled Afghanistan because after leaving Islam he has been threatened with death for apostasy.

Letter To The Government of Sweden and Migration Board:

I am writing to you on behalf of Khalid Saeed’s petition to remain in Sweden, a petition which you have denied. I implore you to revisit his case.

His life—and Sweden’s reputation for fairness and morality are both at stake.

Khalid Saeed and his family have been living in Sweden since 2009. Saeed joined the 5% of the Swedish population who are Muslims. However, unlike Muslims who have rioted and/or who have refused to assimilate in Sweden, Khalid is a pro-Western apostate.

This is precisely why he fled Pakistan. Apostasy is a capital crime in Islam, and so is any preference shown to Western ways of thought.

Khalid Saeed was a car dealer in Islamabad, Pakistan. He is married and has three children. Once he made his views known, he was threatened. He fled. In his own words, he claims:

“I have never worshipped Allah nor do I or my wife, Asia, believe in Islam as the only truth for mankind. I have distanced myself from Islam years ago. That is my curse. My wife, the mother to our children, agrees. She will not see her daughter brought up in a society where women are only half humans and neither will I.

"As parents we also do not want to stand (helpless) on the side line and watch our two lovely and open-minded boys being forced into any kind of holy jihad group or society whose only objective is to oppress, threaten, and intimidate others to blindly follow the pitiless words of the profane muslim prophet Mohammad and his followers’ medieval Islamic sharia laws.”

Anyone who sounds like this in Pakistan, or in any Pakistani Muslim community in the world is a dead man.

And yet, you have refused him asylum in Sweden. I strongly disagree with your ruling on his application for asylum.

I assume you are familiar with the fate of apostates: Muslims who convert to Christianity or who describe themselves as “humanists” or “secularists,” or who believe in freedom of religion.

Sweden’s own 2010 Report on Human Rights in Pakistan confirms that religious minorities are severely persecuted in Pakistan as are any people who are in favor of free speech, academic freedom, and independent thought. For example, the governor of the Punjab (in Pakistan) was assassinated when he wanted to pursue reforms against blasphemy laws.

The International Humanist and Ethical Union, which was founded in Amsterdam, spent years campaigning for the life of physician and human rights activist Dr. Younus Sheikh who languished on Death Row in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.

We know that many Muslims are not friendly toward any infidel religion, including Christians, Hindus, Jews, Buddhists, etc. Christians have been—and still are—being savagely persecuted in Muslim lands. I and many others have written about this often. Author and apostate Nonie Darwish and ex-Muslim secularist Ibn Warraq have both spoken out about this burning issue.

Christians are being savagely persecuted in Egypt and all across the Middle East and Islamic world.

In Pakistan, Christians have literally been crucified, teenaged Christian girls have been kidnapped, raped, then forced to marry their rapists and convert to Islam.

Saudi Arabia, Iran, Afghanistan, do not allow Christians, Jews, or other “infidels” to pray openly or to build any or new houses of worship.

The Arab Muslim Middle East is almost completely “Judenrein,” (free of Jews) since more than 800,000 Arab Jews were exiled or forced to flee their countries between 1948-1968.

In 2010, in Pakistan, a Muslim mob attacked a Christian man and slaughtered him with pick-axes for refusing to convert to Islam.

According to Mina Nevisa, an Iranian Muslim convert to Christianity who wrote a book about her experiences, both she and her female cousin were attending an underground church in Teheran. Nevis fled Iran together with her husband. Her cousin was not so lucky. “She was arrested on charges of Apostasy and taken to Evin prison, where she was raped, tortured, and then killed by a firing squad. The pastor was also killed.”

The situation for Muslim apostates in Europe is also perilous. High profile apostates, such as Egyptian-Italian Magdi Christiano Allam, who was converted to Catholicism by the Pope, lives with six round-the-clock bodyguards. Aayan Hirsi Ali, the Somali-Dutch-American apostate-secularist, also requires a full time security detail. People who do not have public profiles, who are not academics, intellectuals, politicians, or public speakers, also face similar problems.

In 2001, “Sabatina James” (a pseudonym) fled from Austria to Germany and went into hiding to escape being honor-murdered by her family after she converted from Islam to Christianity. Her family had immigrated from Pakistan.

“Sabatina’s” troubles began when she was 15 years old. Because she dared to wear lipstick and blue jeans, she was mercilessly beaten. When she rejected marriage to a cousin, “Sabatina” was sent to a Qur’anic school in Lahore, where she was repeatedly flogged. She finally agreed to the marriage—but only in order to be able to return to Austria. Then, when she was 19 years old, she fled.

In 2009, Iraqi-born Vian Bakir Fatah was stabbed to death by her Iraqi ex-husband in Norway. She had converted to Christianity and had a new boyfriend. Her ex-husband murdered her in the presence of their four children.

In the past, Sweden has presumably been at the forefront of human rights activism and legislation. Now, in this case, it seems that Sweden has failed its own stated ideals.

Given the information that I and others are providing, I strongly urge you to reconsider Khalid Saeed’s case. If not, his blood, and the blood of his wife and children will be on Swedish hands.

It's not even December, but Santa has already been fired from Charleston's Hollings Cancer Center.

For each of the past two years, hospital volunteer Frank Cloyes spent one day as St. Nick, spreading good cheer and snacks to patients sitting through chemotherapy treatments. The 67-year-old James Island resident, a retired insurance executive who calls himself a "gregarious guy," paid for his own costume rental.

On Tuesday morning, a volunteer coordinator told Cloyes his services no longer were needed.

But their traditional attire has now come in for criticism from equality experts who claim it could send a negative message to toddlers in nursery and lead to racism.

Instead, teachers should censor the toy box and replace the pointy black hat with a pink one, while dressing fairies, generally resplendent in pale pastels, in darker shades.

Another staple of the classroom - white paper - has also been questioned by Anne O'Connor, an early years consultant who advises local authorities on equality and diversity.

Children should be provided with paper other than white to drawn on and paints and crayons should come in "the full range of flesh tones", reflecting the diversity of the human race, according to the former teacher.

Alternate Headline: Liberal Pant Leg Wetters Soaked To The Freakin Bone

So, for those of you who haven't followed this, which includes Rusty, who thinks Wisconsin is a suburb of Canada, if that is even possible...here is some background and a timeline.

Scott Walker elected Gov in late 2010, Walker pushed Budget Repair Bill that removes union collective bargaining, unions go ballistic in February of 2010 while the Democratic Senators flee the state, a Supreme Court race in April is a "referendum on Scott Walker", the Republican candidate (Prosser) wins after a contentious recount, Prosser is accused of choking another Justice, and a union led recall by democrats fails to take majority rule in August.

After the choking accusation was passed like a hot potato from the Capitol Police to the Dane County Sheriff, to the Dane County Prosecutor who knew there was nothing there and in turn asked for a special prosecutor....Prosser is vindicated

So, what's next? I assume the collective Madison left's heads will explode for two reasons.

The first: This is the last of a long line of FAIL. Lost the governorship, lost union collective bargaining while their democrat senators lost every last shred of respect running to Illinois, lost the supreme court race which the unions heavily backed, failed to win the majority in the State government during union sponsored recalls, and failed to falsely bring down Justice Prosser. Fail x ...well...lots.

Second: There are a crap pile of liberal, feminists, and politicians that owe apologies. Public apologies since their public, sometimes flamboyant and sensational, pre-mature judgments were false. A random sampling follows of those that need to pucker up:

A middle school in Mass is in dire need of rottweiler therapy, for the Fitchburg School Committee:

A middle school in Massachusetts is under fire for requiring children to complete a graphic sex survey without parental knowledge or consent – that included questions about sexual partners and oral sex.

The Rutherford Institute, a civil liberties organization, filed a complaint with the U.S. Dept. of Education against the Fitchburg School Committee. They are representing the two middle-school aged daughters of Arlene Tessitore.

Mrs. Tessitore said her daughters, both students at Memorial Middle School, were told they had to complete a Youth Risk Behavior Study.

“Kids were actually told to sit down and take them,” said John Whitehead, president of The Rutherford Institute. “The parents here are very upset.”

Whitehead said the girls were deeply disturbed by the subject matter of the study – including questions about suicide, drug use and sexual behavior.

Political correctness run amok...

Staff at all three Butlin resorts in Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness are instructed to ban anyone found guilty of bumping into each other in the electric cars equipped with huge bumpers.

Bemused customers who assume that the ‘no bumping sign’ is in jest are told to drive around slowly in circles rather than crash into anyone else for fear of an injury that could result in the resort being sued.

Diversity, freedom of expression, and equal protection for all - It's as American as you can get, and it has always been the ultimate goal of all American battles. And yet that conflicts with Goshen College's "core values":

Goshen College, a Mennonite school in Indiana, has become a target of public outrage over its decision to ban the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at sporting events because it conflicts with the school's core values.

“We recognize that some people may not be satisfied with this decision, but we believe it is the right one for Goshen College,” Ricky Stiffney, chairman of the college’s board of directors, said in a written statement. “The board has a diversity of views on this issue as reflected through the process of considering the anthem.”

Do their "core values" include defending freedom and liberty or blind submission? Why are they even in America? How can they justify enjoying America's religious freedoms that were acquired by "violence" and "battles"?

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) — Two people were stabbed in a seemingly random attack at a Twin Cities library.

After the incident Wednesday night at the Oxboro Library in Bloomington, 35-year-old Samira Abdalla Salim was arrested.

Salim was no stranger to the Oxboro Library. She had a reputation for handing out the Koran and talking religion outside the building.

“They had some issues with her harassing other patrons,” said Bloomington Police Commander Mark Stehlik. [...]

Salim is accused of stabbing two people. The first victim was a woman who was walking into the library.

“The next thing she knew, she felt a sharp pain in the middle of her back and realized she had been stabbed,” said Stehlik.

The second was a security guard who heard the victim’s cry for help. He went to talk to Salim in the parking lot.

“Spoke to her briefly and then she actually stabbed him as well. Stabbed him in the abdomen,” said Stehlik. (Source)
