After reading it, keep in mind that these are the same people who successfully lobbied Facebook to remove my account.

This week "Abu Salamah" at the Islamic Awakening forum announced the "martyrdom" of one of its members who called himself "Rakan":

For those who fight in the way of Allah, for them is one of the two best things: victory or martyrdom. Alhamdulillah, Rakan has been honoured with the ultimate reward because he gave the ultimate sacrifice. When he was around the age of 10, this one time his mom walked into his bedroom and found him alone on his bed in the dark, crying his eyes out. And when she asked him what happened, she assumed he injured himself or something but he turned to her and said, mom, how can i save myself from hell? i dont want to go to hell. At that age he was worried about his akhira. The brother died with a smile on his face. May Allah accept him.

As much as the website is pro-terrorism, this didn't settle well with the UK based administrators -- who promptly removed the thread before it could attract too much attention from the you-know-whos.

Tim Sanders and a Blaine police captain using the neighbors IP. Also used the email accounts to send child porn to the neighbors co-workers, again using neighbors IP.

Longtime internet jihadi Tarek Mehanna from suburban Boston had the federal indictment against him amended last week to include one charge of "conspiring to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, namely Al Qaeda." His accomplice, Ahmad Abousamra, is still on the lam -- presumably in Syria -- but his indictment was also amended to include the material support to al Qaeda charge.

Mehanna spent years promoting violent jihad through his "Iskandri" blog" under the pen name Abu Sayaba" and worked behind the scenes with the terrorist translating department of the well known at Tibyan publications.

The charge is yet another indication that internet jihadis are often dangerous and should be taken seriously.

A recent internal FBI report warns federal, state and local authorities to be alert for a potential new tool in the jihadi terror arsenal – the placing of suspicious, but harmless, bags in public places to inspire fear, disrupt public transportation and tie up police and bomb squads.

The so called "battle of suspicious bags" was encouraged by an unknown poster to a known jihadi website. On May 12th, the poster suggested an "invasions suspicious bags (sic)" in "the heart of Washington and New York," as the FBI's Washington Field Office Intelligence Division noted in its May 27th "Situational Information Report." The bags would contain not bombs, but innocuous items, a tactic that has been used by other political extremists in the U.S. in the recent past.

Seven seniors at a Southern California high school are facing disciplinary action for participating in a game called Beat the Jew, in which losers were subjected to "incineration" or "enslavement", a school administrator says.

The game involved some students playing the role of Nazis, who blindfolded and dropped off other students playing Jews who must find their way back to the campus, said Sherry Johnstone, assistant superintendent of personnel for Desert Sands Unified School District.

It was not immediately clear exactly how losing players were punished, she said.

They allegedly "chased down other students" at their school who were identified as being Jewish. Jihadist forums, such as this one, announced the AQAP (alQaeda in the Arabic Pennisula) release of Awlaki interview, gave download links and voila it's on JihadTube. Then on to embedding on websites such as this one.

The U.S. says he is an active participant in the group, though members of his tribe have denied that. [It's called Taqiyya ― Islamic Principle of Lying for the Sake of Allah]

For its part, al-Qaida appears to be trying to make use of his recruiting power by putting him in its videos. Its media arm said Sunday's video was its first interview with the cleric.

Everybody Draw Mohammed Day creator’s computer hacked. On May 20, 2010, The Jewish Business Magazine was able to interview the creator the blog and Facebook page, Everybody Draw Mohammed Day, Andy. Andy told the Jewish Business Magazine that his goal was to create discourse and free speech in the world around Islam.

He couldn’t stand the past aggressions and threats of violence by the Muslim extremist over things as stupid as the writing of the word ALA or an artistic depiction or worse, a cartoon, of Mohammed their prophet. Now, the Everybody Draw Mohammed Day creator’s computer has been hacked by an Islam extremist who calls himself, Ali Hassan.

This morning, I engaged Mr. Ali Hassan via Andy’s Skype account and asked him some questions. Ali Hassan, the hacker of Everybody Draw Mohammed Day claims he did this because he is a Muslim and offended about the depiction of his prophet, Mohammed. Hassan also claims to have Andy’s address, but did not offer any insight as to what he plans to use it for.

(Reuters) - A New York man accused of helping al Qaeda with computer systems and cash was denied bail on Monday in a New York court.

Sabirhan Hasanoff, 34, a dual U.S. and Australian citizen who owns a home in Brooklyn, New York, was arrested on April 30 and charged with conspiracy to provide material support to Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network, according to a U.S. District Court indictment.

Another New York man, Wesam El-Hanafi, was arrested and charged in the same indictment, and is currently detained pending an appearance in Manhattan federal court later this week. Both men are accused of pledging allegiance to al Qaeda and using their computer expertise to aid the group.

"SCANDAL YouTube admits removing Dokku Umarov's statement under Russian Pressure"

One of the participants at a recent international summit of social media resources Global Voices in Santiago (Chile) said that during the conference, the management of YouTube admitted that the portal is under constant pressure from Russia, which demands to remove videos about Jihad in the Caucasus from YouTube.

YouTub[sp] senior official Victoria Grand told the participants of the international conference about the latest scandalous story on this issue. It was about the video statement of the Caucasus Emirate's Emir Dokku Umarov, which was posted on the portal after the sabotage operations in the Moscow subway.

After this statement was seen in 3 days by more than 600 thousand people, YouTube removed it from its server.

Victoria Grand explained what happened in this way.

"It was really a difficult decision and we had a lot of internal debates on this topic. Moreover, it was the material being showed on news channels, so, it had a news value. But Russian authorities took a tough stance on this issue and said that it is almost outside the law", said Grand.

As a result, according to Ms Grand, YouTube decided to remove this particular video material. However, at the same time, she stressed that this does not mean that there are no other versions of this video statement of Dokku Umarov on YouTube.

"You can still find on YouTube a lot of materials of this kind, such as a video from training camp of Taliban, and no one removed this video. Everything always depends on context" Grand summed up.

It is to be mentioned that the story of the removal of Dokku Umarov's statement is not the only YouTube concession to Russia. The video portal regularly removes videos about the war in the Caucasus. In particular, more than 350 videos clips, posted on YouTube by the Kavkaz Center editorial stuff, has been removed by the portal for the last 3 years.[Thanks to YouTube Smackdown..ed]

At some point the clue bat will connect with the heads of our nation's policy makers. I'm afraid, though, that it will come in the form of a major successful attack. WaPo:

A senior law enforcement official said that Shahzad told interrogators he had watched Aulaqi's videos on the Web and that he indicated the cleric had inspired him. Shahzad himself does not appear to have communicated with Aulaqi, who is known for his online postings advocating violence against the West.

Think of violent Islamism on the internet like child pornography. No, we will never get rid of it altogether. But neither should we do nothing at all. Reasonable steps can and should be taken to make this kind of propaganda harder to find.

On a related note, go check out Aaron at Internet Haganah's analysis of what the Times Square plot might mean in terms of future terror attacks. Remember, there is often a trade-off between the impact of an attack and it's likelihood. As violent Islamist groups realize that grandiose 9/11 style attacks are infeasible, they will direct their resources to smaller scale attacks which don't do nearly the same damage but which are much easier to pull off.

"That made these guys pumped up and happy," the officer said. "It's like a party at a club. They were hitting the walls with excitement. One guy even broke a chair."

Among the revelers: Shahawar Matin Siraj, who would be sentenced in January 2007 to 30 years in prison for an August 2004 plot to blow up Herald Square. "He loved talking about doing jihad," said the officer[...]

The officer said he fit the profile of the young men he sought to meet: middle-class, first- or second-generation Americans in their late teens or early 20s. He said he watched the radicalization process of dozens.

Somali Islamic insurgency group Harakat al-Shabab Mujahideen ("Movement of Warrior Youth"), better known as Al-Shabab, which is linked to al-Qaeda, is thought to have recruited dozens of Swedish youth to engage in terrorist acts, according to Göteborgs-Tidningen.

Awesome news, I was waiting for others to stand up against Comedy Central caving to mommies basement boy Zach "Abu Talhah Al-Amrike" Chesser's threat againt Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

I recently posted a cartoon from Chris Muir of Day by Day. He may not be a Pulitzer Prize winner but he isn't going to take it lying down either.

Seventeen Pulitzer Prize-winning editorial cartoonists, including "Doonesbury" creator Garry Trudeau and 2010 winner Mark Fiore, have signed a petition to condemn "threats" against Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the creators of the Comedy Central show "South Park," by a group calling itself Revolution Muslim[...]

The 17 Pulitzer cartoonists who signed the letter are: Nick Anderson, Tony Auth, Clay Bennett, Steve Benson, Matt Davies, Fiore, Jack Higgins, David Horsey, Jim Morin, Mike Peters, Joel Pett, Michael Ramirez, Ben Sargent, Paul Szep, Ann Telnaes, Trudeau and Signe Wilkinson.

Their letter goes on to say that "freedom of expression is a universal right" and "we reject any group that seeks to silence people by violence or intimidation." The letter cites the United States' "proud tradition of political satire" and affirms belief in the right "to speak or draw freely without censorship."
