The online recruiting and brainwashing is just as important as a bombing or attack, for without the former the latter cannot be.

While it has attracted people from various backgrounds, in Britain it is largely made up of British citizens of South Asian descent and operates in some of the socio-economically deprived areas of the country where these communities are concentrated, in particular around east London and the town of Luton.

A good day. A very good day, indeed:

Radical preacher Anjem Choudary was charged on Wednesday with encouraging support for the Islamic State militant group.

Choudary, 48, appeared in Westminster magistrates court charged with inviting support for a proscribed organisation, namely Isis. It is alleged he committed the offence between 29 June 2014 and 6 March 2015. Another man, Mohammed Rahman, 31, faced the same charge...

Asked how he would like to plea to the charges, Choudary said: “I plead that Cameron and the police are guilty and the only people who are innocent are me and Mr Rahman.”

The thing about Lebanon is this: it's a failed state where terrorists actually control lots and lots of territory. The fact that Hezbollah has its own army which basically runs much of Southern Lebanon is telling about the place.

My Lebanese brother-in-law loves the place. Which is odd, because if Lebanon was so awesome why the hell is he living in California?

In any event, I guess the Lebanese government will tolerate some terrorists, just not others. So, deciding to put the hammer down on al Qaeda supporters in a single town -- Tripoli -- is a start, but won't be nearly enough:

But when the soldiers stormed Mr Bakri's house in the city centre, they found that he had already fled. His wife told local media that she did not know where he was.

Groups linked to hate preacher Anjem Choudary have been labelled, the 'single biggest gateway to terrorism in recent British history'.

The radical Islamist has been identified as the link between groups who encourage the safe passage of British and European Muslims into Syria where they join Al Qaeda-linked forces.

According to a study by Hope Not Hate, organisations affiliated with Choudary have encouraged in the region of 80 young British Muslims to join the fighting in Syria.

They may also have had a hand in the recruitment of 300 more on the continent, the report said.

Michael Adebolajo, 28, constantly interrupted proceedings during the ten minute hearing at London’s Westminster magistrates’ court.

Dressed in white T-shirt and trousers, he held a copy of the Koran and had his left arm cased in plaster.

He smiled and blew kisses to a lone supporter in the public gallery and both men then pointed at the ceiling of the court in a gesture similar to the victory sign given by Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt.

A children's sweet store called Yummy Yummy in London is distributing leaflets that portray disturbing images of women and children who are suffering and grieving, in a bid to advertise to parents and children to attend a conference next month that will assert it is 'Time for Islamic Revolution'.

The sweet store has been established and is overseen by Yazdani Chaudhary, the elder brother of Anjem Chaudhary who is linked to Islam outfits such as Women4Shariah, Muslim Prisoners and Islamic Revolution, Express.co.uk reports.

According to the report, Women4Shariah has also gained popularity on Facebook as a page on the social website enlists comments made about the slaying of British soldier Drummer Lee Rigby in a brutal attack in Woolwich.

The director of an IT company, Yazdani had received almost 1million pound of Government Learn Direct contracts and had hired a convicted terrorist fundraiser two years ago to help his other graphic design business activities at the property he had bought in New Road.

It appears the Women4Shariah went dark after too much publicity or something.

LONDON (AP) — British police on Saturday arrested three more suspects in connection with the savage killing of an off-duty soldier that has raised fresh concerns about terrorism.

Scotland Yard said counterterrorism officers arrested two men, ages 24 and 28, at a residential address in southeast London. A third man, 21, was arrested separately on a London street at the same time.

Police said they used a stun gun on two of the suspects. All three were detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.

Bile-spewing Choudary acknowledged he helped turn Michael Adebolajo to extremism and that the machete monster was only “making his voice heard in blood”.

The preacher — still free as a bird despite brazenly inspiring terrorists for a DECADE — claimed he did not “condone” the attack that left soldier Lee Rigby dead.

Choudary said of Wednesday’s atrocity by Adebolajo and fellow fanatic Michael Oluwatobi Adebowale: “What he did was unusual and it’s not the view I propagate but those views are out there.

“Some members of the Muslim community struggle to express themselves and he is making his voice heard in blood.”

His comments come three months after The Sun secretly filmed Choudary, who is a British citizen, teaching extremists to “rise up” against non-believers.

We caught the father of four, who The Sun revealed has claimed £25,000 a year in welfare, urging fanatics not to ignore “jihad and fighting”, and labelling David Cameron the devil.

It was just the latest example of Choudary being at the centre of terror plots — leading experts to demand why police are guilty of “a gross derogation of duty” by turning a blind eye towards him.

The Sun handed cops a detailed dossier of Choudary’s terrorist training methods after publication of our expose on February 17. We met detectives at their request on March 6 and handed over reams of paperwork and DVDs of secret recordings of the preacher’s rants.

On March 26 Thames Valley Police-based officers announced they would mount no case — saying the material we provided “fell below an evidential threshold”.

The second Muslim convert who allegedly executed Lee Rigby in Woolwich has been identified as Michael Adebowale, a probation officer’s son radicalised as a teenager, it emerged today.

The 22-year-old British citizen of Nigerian descent and Michael Adebolajo, 28, ran the soldier down with their car before ‘hacking, chopping and cutting’ at his body like ‘crazed animals’ screaming ‘Allah Akbar!’ – an Islamic phrase meaning ‘God is great’, witnesses said.

With Rigby’s body left in the street Adebolajo ranted on film: ‘You people will never be safe’ before the pair waited 14 minutes for armed police to arrive and were gunned down waving firearms, knives and a machete.

Both have been been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in hospital in a stable condition with Scotland Yard waiting to interview them[...]

Details about the 22-year-old are still emerging, but it is understood he and his girlfriend, a fellow convert, were well known in south-east London for handing out extremist leaflets[...]

They had been considered “lone wolves”. But MI5 and Scotland Yard’s counter-terrorism officers are trying to find out if they are part of a terror cell that could carry out further atrocities.

One of the killers was picked up by police last year as he tried to leave the country, apparently on his way to join al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab fighters in Somalia[...]

One of the two men involved in the Woolwich terror attack was known to a banned Islamist organisation and went by the name of Mujahid, The Independent in London has reported.

Anjem Choudary, the former leader of the [banned..ed] group, Al Muhajiroun, confirmed that he had known the man who was seen on video in the immediate aftermath of yesterday's horrific killing waving a cleaver with bloodied hands and making political statements.

Mr Choudary said Mujahid, who he said had converted to Islam in 2003 and was a British-born Nigerian, had stopped attending meetings of Al Muhajiroun and its successor organisations two years ago. The former solicitor said he had also known "Mujahid" as Michael[...]

Sources today named one of the suspects as 28-year-old Michael Adebolajo.

Mr Choudary told The Independent: “I knew him as Mujahid. He attended our meetings and my lectures. I wouldn’t describe him as a member [of Al Muhajiroun]. There were lots of people who came to our activities who weren’t necessarily members.

“He was a pleasant, quiet guy. He reverted to Islam in about 2003. He was just a completely normal guy. He was interested in Islam, in memorising the Koran. He disappeared about two years ago. I don’t know what influences he has been under since then.”

Founded in 1983 by Islamist Omar Bakri Muhammad[ Omar the goat humping bakri muhammed...ed], Al Muhajiroun became notorious for attempting to justify the 9/11 attacks and fomenting Islamist rhetoric in Britain.

Mr Choudary, who has long been a controversial figures in Britain’s Islamist circles, has been an outspoken critic of British military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

But he insisted that he had never preached that attacks on British troops or security personnel in Britain were justified.

He was influenced by Anjem's radical preaching as many before him have. Most are in pound-in-ass prison now. For a recent example of such, Americans Zach Chesser and Jesse Norton of Revolution Muslim's South Park fame.

Part of that radicalisation can be tracked to extremist groups such as the now-banned al-Muhijaroun. Its former UK head, Omar Bakri Mohammad told the Guardian that he had known Michael Olumide Adebolajo, who had attended many meetings. These included al-Muhijaroun events at community centres and a mosque in the Woolwich area.

Adebolajo attended the meetings from 2004 to around 2011 and, according to Bakri Mohammad, chose his own Muslim name after converting from his Christian upbringing. The name he chose, Mujaahid, means one engaged in jihad.

We were thus spared the presence of these two hate-mongers [Anjem & Omar the goat humping Bakri Mohammed..ed] at a so-called ‘Sharia for Pakistan conference’ that was announced to be held at Lal Masjid today after the Khateeb of the mosque announced he had nothing to do with the project that had the following agenda: 1) The Kufr Constitution of Pakistan; 2) Declaration of Fatwa on Malala; 3) MA Jinnah, The Traitor of Islam; 4) The Apostasy of Asif Ali Zardari; and 5) The Transformation of Pakistan under the Sharia.

The poster that appeared in Islamabad and on the Internet was something to behold. In the background, the Quaid’s mausoleum had a sniper’s cross-hairs on it; in the foreground the Quaid; President Zardari; and Malala[Pakistani girl shot by the Taliban..ed] were seen engulfed in flames. And Anjem Choudary says he is in the UK to ‘civilise’ people! Disgusting creature.

However, all’s well that ends well, and thank the Lord we don’t have to see the ugly spectacle of this cursed conference. Let us then end on a light note, but which holds a warning for those who leap before thinking of the consequences.

A Syrian born radical Islamic cleric who lived in the U.K. for almost 20 years before being banned in 2005, is training British born Islamic extremists for jihad in Syria, in a Lebanese training camp.

Not only is Omar Bakri Mohammed banned from the U.K., he is also banned from leaving Lebanon, where he is on bail, for 30 years. The Salafist cleric has links to al-Qaeda and praised the 9/11 attacks. Now he is busy training Islamic terrorists for jihad in Lebanon.

The Syrian-born cleric claimed to have trained “many fighters” from other countries, including Germany and France, since setting up home in Lebanon.

He boasted of exploiting the clashes between Israel and Gaza to focus on “military activities”.

He added: “I’m involved with training the mujahideen (fighters) in camps on the Syrian borders and also on the Palestine side.”

In an interview with the London based Arabic newspaper Asharq al-Aswat, the exiled radical preacher Omar Bakri Mohammad denied the legal charges against him that he was a leader of al Qaeda in Lebanon, while encouraging Sunnis to support the "mujahideen" in their fight against "occupation". He also noted that he continued to teach his followers in the US and Britain through the internet.

But most noteworthy of all is he denial that his daughter, Yasmin Fostok, had rebelled against his conservative brand of Islam to become a London stripper. You see, it's all a Jewish plot to make the al Qaeda supporter look bad:

British police say 22 people have been arrested outside of the US embassy in London during a protest over the use of military drones in Pakistan.

Scotland Yard confirmed the arrests on Friday at the demonstration organised by a group calling itself United Ummah.

The demonstration was advertised as a gathering that would include Friday prayers outside of the US embassy to draw attention to "the murder of Muslims with drones".

Home Secretary Theresa May is banning Muslims Against Crusades, a group planning an anti-Armistice Day protest.

The organisation had planned to repeat a demonstration seen last year, when members burned poppies near to London's Albert Hall.

Mrs May's order, which comes into force at midnight, makes membership or support of the group a criminal offence.

The organisation is closely linked to a host of other previously-banned groups.

Anjem Choudary, the leading public figure in the organisation, accused the government of attempting to cover up the truth.

Recent posts there included one by Abu Izzadeen asking of the assassination of President Barrack Obama was legal. Izzadeen, born Trevor Brooks, has since been arrested for violating the conditions of his early release from prison. He was serving time for supporting terrorism.

According to the report from the NORC at the University of Chicago Americans have more tolerance for Communists, gays, etc and not for Islamists. Duh, they didn't fly those planes into the Trade Centers or the Pentagon.

The survey found that 49 percent of Americans in 2008 would allow a book by a Muslim extremist to be in their local library, while 48 percent approved in 2010.

A Muslim group in the United Kingdom has launched a campaign to turn twelve British cities – including what it calls "Londonistan" – into independent Islamic states. The so-called Islamic Emirates would function as autonomous enclaves ruled by Islamic Sharia law and operate entirely outside British jurisprudence.

The Islamic Emirates Project, launched by the Muslims Against the Crusades group, names the British cities of Birmingham, Bradford, Derby, Dewsbury, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester, Sheffield, as well as Waltham Forest in northeast London and Tower Hamlets in East London as territories to be targeted for blanket Sharia rule.

According to the London-based Association of Chief Police Officers, up to 17,000 women in Britain are victims of honor-based violence – forced marriages, honor killings, kidnappings, sexual assaults, beatings, female genital mutilation and other forms of abuse – every year. This figure is 35 times higher than official figures suggest, and British detectives say it is "merely the tip of the iceberg" of this phenomenon.

UPDATE by Rusty: This is a double post so I'm moving most of it below the fold, but check out how the UK media paints the EDL as extremists while those protesting in favor of bin Laden are merely supporters. As I've said many times before, I don't know much about the EDL. Most of the anti-EDL rhetoric I've heard is the kind of connect-the-dots guilt-by-association type stuff that you get from Charles Johnson and company.

To be honest, the more I hear what they actually have to say vs. who their opponents say they really are the more I like them. I think the real problem here is that they tend to say it with a distinct working class accent, something the British elite seem uncomfortable with. But, like I say, I may be wrong.

No movement is pure. If you're looking for purity join a religion, not a political movement. The fact is that they are the only ones brave enough to stand up to bin Laden's real supporters in the UK.

And, yes, these guys really do support bin Laden. Look at this screengrab that SH took of the website that organized this rally.

The City Council approved Tuesday a request from the Laguna Beach Fire Department to add an additional herd to the number of goats that annually graze on firebreaks. An unusually rainy winter means more vegetation that could pose a fire hazard to homes as it dries out over the summer and fall.
