By December 29, 1989, without a shot fired, the protesters had driven out their Communist masters, electing poet, playwright, and political prisoner Vaclav Havel as interim President. This peaceful revolt by a peaceful people against their Stalinist puppet government became known as the “Velvet Revolution”.

Senate Study on The Online Radicalization of Zachary Chesser of Revolution Muslim
The Internet and social media are integral ingredients in the rapid radicalization of homegrown terrorists, said a staff study by the Senate homeland security committee that recommended a coordinated government response to counter online radical propaganda and help communities intervene in the radicalization process.The .pdf copy of the study is here.The report, released on Feb. 27 by the staff of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, was based on the close study of the personal writings of Zachary Chesser, the Bristow, VA man now serving a 25-year sentence for threatening the writers of the South Park television show, soliciting violent jihadists to desensitize law enforcement, and attempting to provide material support to Al-Shabaab.
The study also provides some unique detail into Chesser’s motivations and personality.
The Senate staff said Chesser’s case was a classic case study of how quickly online radicalization can occur compared to the traditional process of face to face contact between an aspirant and an established terrorist group.

Super Committee Approaches Deadline
(Washington) Political wrangling within the Joint Deficit Reduction Committee continues with a deadline of November 23 for finding $1.5 trillion in deficit reduction.
They have been meeting for two months, poring over concepts and ideas already hashed out by three other groups over the past year.I suspect the committee will find a way to delay making a final decision.But 10 days before their deadline, members of the so-called congressional "super committee" created to forge a deficit reduction deal indicated Sunday that they remain hung up on basic issues of tax and entitlement reform that have previously stymied agreement.
