Thanks to (someone) for pointing out this article from the "Salem News Channel" claiming that convicted terrorist Ziyad Yaghi is an innocent patsy in the global war against Muslims.

The "news" website seems more like an amateurish blog than an actual news website. But, whatevs, it does have some entertainment value. I especially like the part where we're accused of being "racist". Racist: I do not think that word means what you think it means:

4) Although Ziyad Yaghi's Facebook profile is set to private, a vigilante racist web blog titled the Jawa Report posted screenshots and photos of Ziyad Yaghi's Facebook account. The Jawa Report has a long history of working alongside media establishments and the US government in arresting and prosecuting suspected terrorists. The YouTube account of The Jawa Report indicates the author has an antipathy toward all Muslims, Palestinians, the Occupy Movement, and anyone that challenges the US and Israeli government status quos and foreign policies.

We believe that the Jawa Report was the conduit for what many suspected the US government was doing with Virginian Brandon Raub's Facebook account, the former Iraqi War veteran who was arrested by the US government for inflammatory yet patriotic Facebook posts, which is we believe the Jawa Report was spying on Facebook accounts like Ziyad Yaghi's on behest or in corroboration with the US government.

First, let me address the charge of being a racist. That's an offensive accusation.

1) Any one who's read the blog for more than a week knows that I regularly ban racists. Me not banning racists from the comments should be read as lazy and doesn't read his own comments rather than approves of racist comments.

2) Islam is not a race, it's a belief system. If you think being against sharia, violent Islamism, or being pro-US is somehow being racist -- you are a moron.

3) I do not hate Muslims nor do I believe that Islam inevitably requires Muslims to engage in acts of violence nor oppression. However, this does not mean that I think all religions are the same. Nor do I think that adherents of political violence are necessarily outside of historically orthodox Islam.

4) I do believe there is something kinda-sorta akin to racism against Muslims called Islamophobia, but like the term racism the accusation that people are Islamophobes is so overused as to make the accusation almost meaningless.

Moreover, criticism of orthodox or historical Islamic beliefs are not Islamophobic in and of themselves. Most of what passes for "Islamophobia" in the popular press is actually legitimate criticism of heretofore mainstream Sunni teachings, such as the teaching that apostasy from Islam should be illegal or that criticisms of Islam's prophet Muhammad ought to outlawed.

Jumping to the conclusion that someone is guilty of some crime by virtue of being a Muslim is certainly a sign of Islamophobia. However, there is a corollary to that which has not been named and of which many Muslims are equally guilty of -- jumping to the conclusion that Muslim is innocent simply by virtue of being a Muslim.

If Islamophobia is real but rare, then I am convinced that this opposite corollary is also real. For every person that sees the arrest of a Muslim as evidence of a wider Muslim conspiracy against the West there is a person who sees that same arrest as evidence of a conspiracy by the West against Muslims. I don't have the statistics to back this up, just anecdotal evidence, but I'm inclined to believe that the latter is far more prevalent than the former if we were to measure either group as a proportion of Americans in general in the one case and of Muslims and Occupy activists in the other case. In other words, Muslims and Occupiers are far more likely to see a conspiracy against Muslims by the US than Americans in general are to see a Muslim conspiracy by American Muslims against the US.

As to the accusation that my YouTube account is evidence that I have "antipathy toward all Muslims" & "Palestinians" the author here is either stupid or a liar. At the top of my uploaded videos list are a "Deuce 4 Stryker Brigade" tribute, a video of the New Black Panther Party calling for the murder of a cartoonist, a video of Sarah Palin in a swimsuit competition. Or perhaps it's the Freedom Journal videos that the author finds offensive? Or Scarlett Johansson visiting the troops?

Unless, of course, he thinks al Qaeda represents the version of Islam he believes in. Then, guilty as charged as I do have a funny Happy Chanukah from the al Qaeda dancers video up.

You know, really offensive stuff there!

As to disdaining members of the Occupy movement? Also, guilty as charged. The only good hippie, is a hippie so stoned that he doesn't have the energy to take on the man.

Now, let us look at these images from Ziyad Yaghi's Facebook profile. I'm sure they offer nothing but exculpatory evidence as to Yaghi's innocence?

In any event, as to my role in Yaghi's prosecution let the facts be known: I had no role.

I got these images from Yaghi's Facebook account after he was arrested. Which means I found out about the rather stupid plot he was involved in to attack the Marine base at Quantico by reading the newspaper. I know, the difference between cause and effect makes my head head hurt!

As to my alleged involvement in the arrest of Brandon Raub, I had to do a Google search of it to see who he was. Never heard of him and The Jawa Report has never reported on him.

As to the rest of the author's claims that Yaghi is either not guilty of the crimes he was convicted of or that he received too harsh a penalty I have no opinion on that. I actually have no idea if he's guilty or not. I wasn't involved in the case, have no special insight, and have no information other than the public record. I wasn't, as the author alleges, a "spy" for the government.

In fact, I really wish the FBI would have let these guys attack Quantico. Eight retards vs. the Marines -- now that would be some first class entertainment!

Yes, it is true that when someone is convicted of a crime that I tend to believe they are guilty of the crime they were convicted of. I also tend to believe that the FBI doesn't go around arresting people for no reason, but that they do sometimes get it wrong.

I also believe that some people, like the author of this article, are paranoid idiots and a perfect illustration of the rhetorical convergence of Leftist and Islamist extremists.

Drudge shows he's been hanging out w/ Alex Jones again

Compare my headline to the headline over at NBC. Notice the difference? By adding three words the implications of the story change drastically.

If you tell people: Do you know that the Obama administration thinks it's okay to kill Americans without a trial?

Of course you'd be rightfully worried. The implication being that Obama believes he can kill you. Do not ask for whom the drones buzz, they buzz for thee.

However, just add three little words: Do you know that the Obama adminstration thinks it's okay to kill Americans in al Qaeda without a trial?

Kind of changes all of the implications of the story.

Except for paranoids on either fringe then who gives a damn what the nationality of the guy sitting next to Ayman al Zawahiri is? Bomb the mo-fo!

Which is why I'm getting increasingly annoyed at my friends on the right who take the headline and then run with it in paranoid fashion.

If you think it's unconstitutional or immoral to kill a member of a terrorist organization living abroad then you and I have very different readings of the Constitution and very different sets of moral standards.

Moreover, it's just basic common sense that in warfare you don't stop to ask the person you're about to shoot for a copy of their passport. Who gives a rat's ass if bin Laden was Saudi or if he was born in Colorado?

Please, go read the report. Nowhere in it is there even a smidgen of a hint that drones could be used against Americans ... in America.

The memo in question sets up a three tiered test for when it's okay to kill an American living -- and this is a direct quote from the memo -- "in a foreign country".

1) He must be an immanent threat. By immanent, we don't mean the threat is immediate. What we mean is that the person is involved in operations that will go forward unless he is killed. In other words, we don't have to wait for a suicide bomber to get on the airplane before we kill him.

2) Capture is infeasible. This means that a terrorist living in France will be treated differently than a terrorist living in Mali. The major difference being that the French police are perfectly capable (assuming they have the backbone) of arresting a suspected terrorist. In the hinterlands of Mali, not so much.

Infeasibility also does not mean impossible. Of course it's possible to capture a terrorist living in a cave in Tora Bora, but if the lives of American servicemen are put in great jeopardy, then drone the assmaggot. That's all the memo says.

If you've seen Zero Dark Thirty -- and I highly recommend it -- one of the key moments is when the protagonist, Maya, tells the SEAL Team members that they've been chosen to be "canaries in the coal mine", putting their lives at risk because the SOBs in the White House thought the political situation was too risky for a drone strike. This went counter to Maya's recommendation which was to, "Bomb the mother-f*cker".

3) The strike must be consistent with the laws of war. Which is just another way of saying we don't bomb the whole city of Abotabad just because we know bin Laden is there.

You really do need to read the whole memo. And stop with the slippery-slope arguments. There's nothing in the memo that says this Administration or any other Administration has the authority to do "extrajudicial killings" on US soil. Or on French soil. Or on English soil.

Such killings are only lawful in the context of a Congressionally authorized war against al Qaeda on the field of battle. The fact that our war against al Qaeda and allied forces is unconventional is too obvious to argue. And if you really think that we need judicial oversight on the field of battle -- which is what the ACLU is arguing in their lawsuit against the US government -- then the President ceases to be Commander-in-Chief and is unconstitutionally supplanted by the "least dangerous branch" of government.

And once the judicial branch has control over military decisions, then it ceases to be the least dangerous branch.

PS-- and we do have a control mechanism for overseeing the President's decisions. It's called an election. Where one candidate proposes that he would be a better Commander in Chief than the other candidate. In our nation's history, there has been such an election every four years -- even during times of war. Remember, Lincoln was opposed in 1864 by former General George B. McLellan based largely on the idea that he would be a better Commander in Chief than the man who fired him. Dewey vs. Roosevelt in 1944 during WWII. Humphrey vs. Nixon in 1968 during Vietnam. The list goes on and on.

If you think Obama's decisions on running the war against al Qaeda aren't good, then you had your chance to change that. It was called the election 2012 and you, and I, lost that one.

Courts are not intended to oversee Presidential decisions about war and peace. And just because we don't like -- or trust -- Obama to make the right decision, doesn't mean we should now be clamoring for judicial oversight of the most fundamental duty a President has.

FBI Arrests Glendale Man in Sextortion Case

Defendant Allegedly Coerced Young Women to Expose Themselves on the Internet

LOS ANGELES—A Glendale man accused of hacking into hundreds of Facebook, Skype, and e-mail accounts and extorting women into showing him their naked bodies was arrested today on federal computer hacking charges.

Karen “Gary” Kazaryan, 27, was arrested this morning without incident by special agents with the FBI. Kazaryan, who was named in a 30-count indictment returned last Friday by a federal grand jury, is being arraigned this afternoon in United States District Court.

According to the indictment, Kazaryan gained unauthorized access to—in other words, hacked into—the victims’ accounts and changed the passwords, which locked victims out of their own online accounts. Once he controlled the accounts, Kazaryan searched e-mails or other files for naked or semi-naked pictures of the victims, as well as other information, such as passwords and the names of their friends. Using that information, Kazaryan posed online as women, sent instant messages to their friends, and persuaded the friends to remove their clothing so that he could view and take pictures of them.

When the victims discovered that they were not speaking with their friends, Kazaryan often extorted them again, using the photos he had fraudulently obtained to again coerce the victims to remove their clothing on camera.

The indictment charges Kazaryan with 15 counts of computer intrusion and 15 counts of aggravated identity theft.

According to a search warrant executed in 2011 and unsealed today, Kazaryan repeatedly contacted victims to demand that they expose their breasts to him on Skype and used their e-mail and Facebook accounts to make contact with other victims. Kazaryan allegedly posted nude photos of some victims on their Facebook pages when they failed to comply with his demands.

Investigators estimate that Kazaryan victimized more than 350 women, but they have not identified all the victims whose accounts were hacked. Authorities found approximately 3,000 pictures of nude or semi-nude women—some of which were taken from their online accounts, and some of which were taken by Kazaryan on Skype—on Kazaryan’s computer. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim in this case should contact the FBI’s Los Angeles Field Office at (310) 477-6565.

An indictment contains allegations that a defendant has committed a crime. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.

If convicted on all counts, Kazaryan faces a statutory maximum penalty of 105 years in federal prison.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Bamako/Dakar — Children are playing a major role in the Islamists' war effort, say eye-witnesses and human rights groups, who report children are taking an active part in fighting, patrolling, scouting combat zones, and staffing checkpoints.

Oumar Diakité, a resident of Konna in Mopti Region, central Mali, which Islamist groups tried to capture on 11 January prompting intervention by French forces, told IRIN: "Young children have been recruited. These children are sent on scouting missions to collect intelligence... And during clashes, they put these children - often just Koranic students - into the front line." Konna has still not been recaptured, according to French military sources.

Children have been seen staffing checkpoints in areas that came under aerial bombardment from French forces, according to a 15 January Human Rights Watch (HRW) communiqué.

Diakité told IRIN: "They [recruiters] make them believe that if they die they'll go straight to paradise because they are defending God's will. I know a woman who had her son in the ranks. Luckily we were able to find him and save him just in time."

In and around the northern city of Gao the mothers of children who were recruited have been trying to find their children, said residents.

HRW says children as young as 12 have been seen taking active part in fighting, many of them carrying AK-47s or hunting rifles. According to them, Islamic groups Ansar Dine, Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa (MUJAO), and Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, have recruited, trained and used several hundred children in their forces since April 2012.

Anonymous petitions U.S. to see DDoS attacks as legal protest. They also want their hacker buddies released from jail and their hacking records cleared.

It's hard to imagine a group that adheres to anarchic ideology would want its actions legalized under U.S. law. But that is exactly what Anonymous is doing.

The loose-knit group of hackers submitted a petition to President Obama this week asking that distributed denial-of-service attacks be recognized as a legal form of protest.

The petition, which is posted on the White House's "We the People" Web site, claims that DDoS attacks are not illegal hacking but rather a way for people to carry out protests online. Similar to the Occupy movement when protesters pitched tents in public spaces, the petition says DDoS attacks also occupy public spaces in order to send a message.

Like Occupy, Anon can't spell worth a damn. Like Occupy destroying public spaces and hurting businesses, Anon wants to destroy and hurt businesses of those with whom they disagree with too. Like Occupy, Anon has also been infiltrated by some terror groups[<---more images here]

17-year-old Derek Shrout apparent planned the attack three days after the massacre in Sandy Hook, Connecticut

Police say 17-year-old Derek Shrout is a self-proclaimed white supremacist who wanted to commit hate crimes at Russell County high school with homemade explosives.

Had his book of plans not been carelessly left where a teacher could find it, the sheriff says no one may have discovered the plot until it was too late.

"The journal contained several plans that looked like potential terrorist attacks, and attacks of violence and danger on the school. And in particular, there were six students specifically named, and one teacher," said Russell County sheriff, Heath Taylor.

After the teacher who found his journal notified authorities, police searched his home and found dozens of tobacco containers filled with shrapnel and holes drilled for fuses. Investigators say Shrout was a step away from turning them into live grenades.

"These bombs are potential; they're not complete. So we don't want to indicate that he was ready to do something. It could have been a day later, potentially," said Taylor[More...]

Law enforcement officials from a New York region where a local paper published a map identifying gun owners say prisoners are using the information to intimidate guards.

Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, who spoke at a news conference flanked by other county officials, said the Journal News' decision to post an online map of names and addresses of handgun owners Dec. 23 has put law enforcement officers in danger.

"They have inmates coming up to them and telling them exactly where they live. That's not acceptable to me," Falco said, according to Newsday.

Robert Riley, an officer with the White Plains Police Department and president of its Patrolman’s Benevolent Association, agreed.

"You have guys who work in New York City who live up here. Now their names and addresses are out there, too," he said adding that there are 8,000 active and retired NYPD officers currently living in Rockland County.

During the televised speech, made to a crowd of hundreds of thousands, Abbas made mention of, among others, Abdel Aziz Rantisi, Sheik Ahmed Yassin–both former leaders of Hamas assassinated by Israel for their role in terrorizing the Jewish state-and Marwan Bargouti, who is currently serving time in an Israeli prison for his role in the deaths of five Israelis.

This irresponsible reporting is not only dangerous, but I suggest a veiled threat against legal gun-owners. While this information may be obtained legally through the Freedom of Information Act, publishing and advertising endangers citizens listed. The map shows those who have a valid permit to purchase or own a handgun. Their names are included whether they have a weapon or not.

The slogan, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” can be heard regularly from the shores of the Gaza Strip, emanating from members of terrorist groups, including Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The river represents the Jordan River, and the sea is the Mediterranean – both sides of Israel. Essentially, this means the destruction of Israel.

Khaled Meshaal, the global head of Hamas, stated something similar, when he made his historic visit to Gaza this month. He said, “Palestine is ours from the river to the sea and from the south to the north.” Just one week previous to that, the leader of another Islamist group, Cyrus McGoldrick, repeated the slogan on Facebook and Twitter. Except he did not state it from the Middle East, he made it from the United States.

McGoldrick is the Civil Rights Manager and spokesman for the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations or CAIR-New York. The national organization of CAIR was founded in June 1994 as a part of the umbrella group created by then-global Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook. [Today, Marzook is the number two leader under Meshaal.][...]

On November 12 on Twitter, he wrote, “Gaza under attack for the last few days. May G-d protect them [Hamas] and grant them victory.” Just two days earlier, McGoldrick had attended a CAIR banquet in Tampa, Florida. Just one day earlier, he had praised Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.[...]

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, brokered by Egypt, took place on November 21. However, that did not stop McGoldrick from tweeting and posting to his Facebook page one week later, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” When McGoldrick said that “Palestine” was “land occupied by foreign settlers,” he wasn’t referring to Gaza and the West Bank; he was referring to all of Israel.

@BayAreaHouston is not just any random Twitter user. He is John Cobarruvias, a Democratic Party precinct chair in Houston, according to Houston blog Big Jolly Politics. (Update: He is also member of the State Democratic Executive committee.)

After calling for shooting NRA members “and everyone who defends them,” Cobarruvias turned around and called the target of his incitement to violence a “domestic terrorist organization.” Self-aware much?

Dear leftists, the NRA didn't murder those children and adults, the crazed shooter did.

NEW YORK – Terrorist turned teacher Bill Ayers appeared at a recent Big Apple gathering of “Change the Stakes,” an anti-testing group comprised mostly of teachers and parents. At least two employees of the New York City Board of Education were there as well.

Disgruntled union workers put their fight against Cablevision over the fight against cancer at a Times Square protest last night[12/6....ed].

About 50 members of the Communications Workers of America Local 1109 disrupted a benefit for cancer research at the Hard Rock Cafe, carrying signs and blaring music as attendees streamed in.

Cablevision CEO James Dolan, whose rock band performed at the event, told The Post that the workers’ actions are “despicable.”

“They think being disruptive for their personal gain is more important than beating pancreatic cancer,” he said. “Their values are twisted. I’m surprised at the depth of their lowness. Everyone who deals with them should take note. It’s shameful.”

The benefit was expected to raise $1.75 million for the Lustgarten Foundation, which funds pancreatic-cancer research.

The foundation is named for Cablevision exec Marc Lustgarten, who died of pancreatic cancer in 1999. Cablevision pays all the foundation’s administrative costs, and the foundation says that all the money raised last night will go to research.[More...]

Can any one say Hope, Change -- Manning '16?

In his first public appearance outside the military courtroom where Private First Class [Bradley] Manning's case is being heard, defence counsel David Coombs said his client wanted to "perhaps one day run for public office"....

Mr Coombs said that Pfc Manning wanted to go to university and after that "join some sort of campaign group, go into public service and perhaps one day run for public office".

Speaking in front of two campaign-style posters of his client, Mr Coombs said that Pfc Manning was determined to "make a difference" in the world.

There are two types of traitors. The first sells out his country for money. That is the typical Hollywood traitor. See Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for your classic sell out your country for money traitor.*

The second type of traitor is more typical. This is the highly educated, I'm smarter than the rest of you traitor. This kind of traitor convinces himself that their act of treason is really an act of patriotism. An example here would be someone who gave the Soviets nuclear secrets because those idiots in Washington didn't realize that without a balance of power we're all doomed!

Bradley Manning is of the latter sort. The traitor who tells himself that giving away the names of those helping us in the war on terror so that the Taliban or al Qaeda could track them down and kill them was really a good thing for America, because the war on terror was just a pretense for the military industrial complex yada yada yada.

It wasn't treason, see, it was patriotism. And there's a sizeable contingent on the Left that buys into this mindset. So, if and when Bradley Manning runs for, say, Congress, his act of treason will be portrayed as an act of heroism.

And if he loses in the Democratic primary in a liberal district it won't be because he's a traitor. It will be because he's, well, see for yourself.

Anonymous describes the Falcon-S group, who's website was defaced (see above), as Israel’s “top security and surveillance website.”

Uh, ok.

They're private security. Rent-a-cops. I'm sure Israel's infrastructure is now totally vulnerable to rampant Palestinian ... shoplifting and mall vagrancy?

So, not such a big take down on the security front. But still, Anonymous has chosen sides. And if there's one thing we know about the IDF it is that their hackers are better than Anonymous.

Just ask anyone in an Iranian nuclear research facility.
