The guy is Swedish, but the allegedly academic "Peace Research Institute" is in Norway. This would be the same country that hosts the Nobel "Peace" Prize. I think we all know how seriously to take "academics" in Norway:

A Swedish professor suggested Israel was behind the bloody terror attacks committed by Norwegian terrorist Anders Behring Breivik this past July, stirring up controversy in the country.

Research professor Ola Tunander of the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) published an article in the Norwegian academic journal Nytt Norsk Tidsskrift in which he called to further examine Brevik's motives...

Tunander mentioned the political tensions between Oslo and Jerusalem in the months prior to the terror attacks in light of Norway's intent to recognize a Palestinian state.

He goes on to link between July 22, the date of Breivik's killing spree, and the significance of that date in Israel's history. Tunander brings up the Lillehammer affair of 1973, when Mossad agents accidently killed a Moroccan waiter in the Norwegian city believing he was Ali Hassan Salameh, the chief of operations for the 1972 Munich massacre of Israeli athletes. One of the agents was arrested the day after the murder, on July 22nd.

The Norwegian professor also discussed the bombing at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem carried out by the Irgun on July 22, 1946.

“We have discussed the right-wing extremist Israeli and Judeo-Christian side of Breivik’s network, Israel’s interest in disciplining Norway, and Israel’s celebration of bomb attacks. In this respect, Breivik’s attack appears to resemble a new king David Hotel attack: July 22nd,” he said.

Of course, that the Guardian published a report on the Gilad Shalit deal by a journalist as hostile to Israel as Deborah Orr is not surprising to anyone remotely familiar with the paper adeptly characterized by Robin Shepherd as the mainstream Anglo publication most hostile to Israel in the world.

Nor is it surprising anymore when they publish essays or letters about Israel by commentators with a well-documented record of engaging in explicit antisemitism. While such contributors are often of the Islamist variety, recently they provided a forum to two of the most prolific modern (leftist) antisemites – Alison Weir and Gilad Atzmon.

However, as even the Guardian typically assures that such contributors maintain at least a thin “progressive” rhetorical veneer to furtively advance classic Judeophobic narratives, Orr’s latest piece stands out as a simply ugly, and thoroughly unrestrained, expression of animosity towards Jews[...]

No matter what Israel does it is never enough. I'm glad Galid is alive (he is the first ever swap of coming back alive) and back home with his family but negotiating with terrorists is a no win situation.

When Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird learned of it about two weeks ago, he instructed his deputy minister, Morris Rosenberg, to call Ms. Sobeh Ali in to complain, and the Canadian representative in the West Bank, Chris Greenshields, to protest to the Palestinian Authority.

"Canada expects the Palestinian Authority to appropriately deal with this serious transgression," Mr. Baird's spokesman, Chris Day, said in an e-mail. "We have taken the decision to limit communication with this official until a replacement is selected."...

In one colorful picture, a row of buildings burn as five tanks move through the area. In the foreground, women and children are crying as are trees and the sun. What looks like a small, abandoned teddy bear lies face up in the street.

In a simpler image, a frowning girl with a bandage on her forehead faces out from behind prison bars.

"Even while the children in Gaza are living under Israeli policies that deprive them of every basic necessity, they managed through art, to express their realities and hopes," said Ziad Abbas, the associate director of the Middle East Children's Alliance, in a statement. "It's really very sad that there are people in the U.S. silencing them and shredding their dreams."

Well, not offending their modesty, just documenting them and others at From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free aka Jerusalem Day aka BDS aka Al Quds Day rally complete with Hizbollah flags. The Park Guard was way out of line trying to stop this, and not too bright to boot!

Scaramouche, Sassywire and I (Blazingcatfur) were asked not to film the Muslimas attending the Al Quds Rally at Queen's Park in Toronto by a Queen's Park "Special Constable" which is a fancy name for security guard.

We were told it would offend the modesty of the Israel hating crowd. Evidently it's just fine for Muslims to wave Hezbollah Flags and hurl Blood Libels at Jews, but god forbid you film the chick waving the the flag of a banned terrorist group in Canada.

They have now gone one step further, scrubbing GW's reference to Jerusalem in Israel.

Now this is just getting silly. The Obama White House is gearing up for a Supreme Court case in which it will defend its refusal to list “Jerusalem, Israel” on the passports of Americans born in the Israeli capital. As part of its preparations the administration recently scrubbed all the captions on a White House photo gallery of Vice President Biden in the city, changing “Jerusalem, Israel” to “Jerusalem.”....

Those who make it their business to rationalize White House hostility toward Israel were relieved, then, when the Washington Jewish Week’s Adam Kredo published an article claiming that the Bush administration had enforced an identical policy. Kredo cited a “search of the Bush White House’s archives” and photos of Laura Bush touring the Western Wall to conclude that the Bush White House webpage “never explicitly labeled [Jerusalem] as part of Israel[...]

It gets worse for Obama’s defenders, though, than merely being demonstrably wrong. It turns out that while they were insisting that the Bush administration consistently refused to reference “Jerusalem, Israel,” the Obama State Department was busy scrubbing documents in which Bush administration referenced “Jerusalem, Israel.” Straight down the memory hole. A Palestinian Authority summer camp for children divided its campers into three groups named after the terrorists Dalal Mughrabi, Salah Khalaf and Abu Ali Mustafa.

Dalal Mughrabi in 1978 led the most lethal terror attack in Israel's history, in which 37 civilians were killed, 12 of them children.[Coastal Road Massacre]
Salah Khalaf (Abu Iyad) was the head of the Black September terror group. He planned many terror attacks including the murder of two American diplomats, as well as the murder of 11 Israeli athletes in the Munich Olympics in 1972.
Abu Ali Mustafa, General Secretary of the terror organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). He planned numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians during the Palestinian terror campaign ("the Intifada").

A fourth group was named after Yasser Arafat.

The summer camp was held under the auspices of PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad, who visited the camp to participate in the closing ceremonies, which he also sponsored.[More..]

Al-Karama lied to Greek authorities and said they were sailing to Egypt.

"After all options were turned down, it was decided to board the yacht," IDF Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Yoav Mordechai said on Tuesday (July 19) following the interception of the Al-Karame vessel by Israeli naval forces. ""We understood that the captain was lying. He lied to authorities in Greece about the yacht's destination and changed it from Egypt to Gaza. We understood that he was taking responsibility away from himself for the yacht."

Brig. Gen. Mordechai said that no physical friction occurred between passengers and IDF soldiers during the boarding operation.

The boarding passed peacefully and the passengers were transferred to another boat to be taken to the port in Ashdod.

Some pro-Pali "activists" that have failed to set sail to Gaza, due to Greek authorities being mean to them, have decided to fly into Israel's Ben Guiron Airport.

Naturally, Israel is adding extra security to deal with said activists. They plan on being nice and stuff to them cuz said activists want to get into a confrontation with Israeli authorities so they can film it and cry foul....Pallywood style

Canadian Boat to Gaza [Tahrir] also tried to sneak out and FAILED

2 members of the Tahrir have been arrested including their captain

Greece has agreed to transport 'Freedom Flotillas' cargo, flotilla activists cry foul

"Freedom Flotillas" upset with media coverage. Pallywood failed to materialize.

"Freedom Floitillas" are on a holding pattern at this time

Greece has screwed up "Freedom Flotillas" plans
