Islamic State of Losers Lose Homs Syria: Rebellion Crushed

End result of all that terrorist red on red infighting. Assad takes the birthplace of the rebellion.

Syria Direct:AMMAN: An agreement to allow safe passage to rebels and civilians out of Old Homs has left regime opponents divided, with some saying the battle will move to the provinces and others yearning to move on with their lives after two years of a strangling encirclement of their districts.

The estimated 2,500 fighters and citizens inside the 13 rebel-controlled districts of Homs agreed in principle on Friday to hand over to the government its territory in Syria’s third-largest city. A UN-supervised departure is scheduled to begin this week, Homs Governor Talal al-Barazi told AFP on Monday, adding that the ceasefire is holding.

With a ferocious government military campaign in recent weeks and gnawing hunger from a regime blockade in place since June 2012 that allowed almost no movement in or out, regime opponents said they had little choice but to surrender.

“We must put ourselves in the place of the people who lived in the siege and saw their children die from hunger, they saw their brothers die because of infected wounds due to shelling,” Suhaib Ali, a Homs-based FSA spokesman, told Syria Direct.

Rebels inside had little choice given “the neglect from the political opposition and the international community,” Ali said.

“What would you do?” he asked.

Pussies! You were so close to achieving martyrdom?

Friday's Chant: #كلنا_جبهة_النصرة

(aka We are all Jabhat al-Nusra) on twitter.

Hell of a lot of al-Qaeda lovers on there. One complained that Hezbollah wasn't listed as a terrorist organization by the US and al-Nusra was. I gave a link showing the State Dept listed them in 1997. He/she answered: "But still Hezbollah is acting without embargo". Say what? Syria is allowing Hezbollah in and?

Poor al-Nursra can't get no respect!!

Hithem Ziad Ibrahim Masshal Eliminated: IDF Splodes Senior MSC Member

eliminated_idf.jpg

Sweet

[A]n IAF aircraft on Gaza Tuesday morning assassinated a senior Salafist terror activist who was reportedly behind an April 17 rocket attack on Eilat from the Sinai.

The IDF and Shin Bet security service confirmed that they had targeted Hithem Ziad Ibrahim Masshal, 24, from the Shati refugee camp.

The attack marked the first “targeted strike” on a Gaza terror figure by Israel since November’s Operation Pillar of Defense, and came amid a renewal of sporadic rocket fire into Israel that seemed to show the deterrent effect of November’s operation was eroding.

David Barnett of the Long War Journal has more:
According to the IDF, Masshal, who "manufactured, improved and traded different types of ammunition," was involved in the April 17 rocket attack on Eilat from the Sinai, for which the Mujahideen Shura Council in the Environs of Jerusalem (MSC) had taken responsibility[...]

Following the Eilat attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had warned that Israel would "exact a price for this [the attack]; this has been our consistent policy for the past four years and it will serve us here as well." Egypt was reportedly briefed ahead of today's strike.

This afternoon, the MSC released a statement through the Ibn Taymiyyah Media Center confirming that Masshal was a member of their organization. During the funeral, Masshal was wrapped in al Qaeda's black flag, which was first used by al Qaeda in Iraq but has been adopted by other al Qaeda affiliates.

Zawahiri Praises al-Nusra Urges Jihadist Islamic State in Syria

Old Bumpy Noggin Al-Bumpy ibn Noggin is back in an audio only message in Arabic only(no subtitles) calling for a radical extremist state in Syria.

DUBAI - Al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri has urged rebels to fight to establish an Islamic state in Syria, in an online audio message Sunday in which he also warned France against its military intervention in Mali.

zawahiri2013.JPG

"Let your fight be in the name of Allah and with the aim of establishing Allah's sharia (law) as the ruling system," he said in his first message posted on the Internet since last November.

"Do all that you can so that your holy war yields a jihadist Islamic state," said Zawahiri, adding that such a state would help to re-establish the Islamic "caliphate" system of rule.

"The enemy has begun to reel and collapse," he said, referring to forces loyal to Assad.

Islamist rebel groups such as the Al-Nusra Front, which has links to Al-Qaeda, have eschewed the main opposition National Coalition, making it clear their goal is the creation of an Islamic state to replace President Bashar al-Assad's regime.

Zawahiri's message will not sit easily with Western powers, who have expressed fears of extremist Islamism playing a growing role in the Syrian conflict and are reluctant to arm the rebels on the ground.

Assad's regime has long dismissed the rebels as "terror" groups backed by Western powers and driven by Al-Qaeda-style ideologies.

The entire video is available here at Jihadology, although at 340 megs its more disk than I'm willing to sacrifice to hear Zawahiri drone on for 45 minutes.

It appears to be a simple file image of Zawahiri and just his voice, in between there is footage and commentary on Jihad from various places. Somalia and Mali are a couple I recognize, possibly some from Egypt.

Update: Thanks to 11B40.

20 Years Later: Bombing Of World Trade Center

wtc_firstbombingperps.jpg
Abdul Yasin remains at large
We [FBI..ed] later learned from Ramzi Yousef that his Trade Center plot was far more sinister. He wanted the bomb to topple one tower, with the collapsing debris knocking down the second. The attack turned out to be something of a deadly dress rehearsal for 9/11; with the help of Yousef’s uncle Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, al Qaeda would later return to realize Yousef’s nightmarish vision.
Egypt's Morsi still wants the mastermind behind the bombing, the Blind Sheikh(aka Omar Abdel Rahman), released for humanitarian reasons.

Screw that:

A noontime ceremony is planned to honor the six people who died in the 1993 blast in an underground garage below one of the twin towers. More than 1,000 people were injured.

The attack was the first dramatic demonstration that "terrorism is theater and New York is the biggest stage," said Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly.

The ceremony was being held at the 9/11 memorial that honors more than 2,700 people who died in the 2001 terrorist attack at the World Trade Center.

A moment of silence will be observed at 12:18 p.m., the time when a truck bomb was detonated below the north tower

Six Islamic extremists were convicted of carrying out the bombing, including mastermind Ramzi Yousef.

Terrorist Still Blowing Shit Up & Killing Innocent People In Mali

Shit for brains, I swear

GAO, Mali (Reuters) - Five people were killed in a remote Malian town on Friday in car bomb attacks by Islamists on Tuareg MNLA rebels with close links to French forces, a spokesman for the Tuareg fighters said.

Violence in northern Mali underscores the risk of French and African forces becoming entangled in a messy guerrilla war as they try to help Mali's weak army counter bombings and raids by al Qaeda-linked Islamist militants.

Friday's car bomb attacks in In Khalil, 1,700 km (1,000 miles) northeast of the capital Bamako, came a day after a car bomb killed two people in the northern city of Kidal and French and Malian troops killed 15 Islamists on the streets of the city of Gao.[More...]

Al-Qaeda's 22 Tips For Dodging Drone Attacks

Not on the list and the best tip evah, don't join al-Qaeda

A document containing al-Qaeda's 22 tips for dodging drone attacks has been found in a building abandoned by Islamists in Mali. Here, we list all 22 tips.

Read the full document here[PDF-editor]

The list in full (English):

1. It is possible to know the intention and the mission of the drone by using the Russianmade “sky grabber” device to infiltrate the drone’s waves and the frequencies. The device is available in the market for $2,595 and the one who operates it should be a computer know-how.

2. Using devices that broadcast frequencies or pack of frequencies to disconnect the contacts and confuse the frequencies used to control the drone. The Mujahideen have had successful experiments using the Russian-made “Racal.”

3. Spreading the reflective pieces of glass on a car or on the roof of the building

"So Called American Citizen": Is That Another Name For Traitor?

Sen Feinstein calls Awlaki a so called American citizen

We’re still trying to wrap our heads around Democratic Rep. John Conyers’ suggestion to start calling illegal immigrants “out of status” new Americans, and now Sen. Dianne Feinstein has thrown us another curve. While questioning CIA director nominee John Brennan at his confirmation hearing today, Feinstein referred to [AQAP's..ed]radical Muslim cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a Predator drone strike in 2011, as a “so-called American citizen.”
I guess that means the North Carolina Muslim, Samir Khan, was also a "so-called American citizen" too? Sammy went to Yemen, joined AQAP and was proud to 'denounce' his citizenship, as he pointed out in "Inspire":

sami_paints_target_on_self.jpg
Therefore, I am proud to be a traitor in America’s eyes just as much as I am proud to be a Muslim; and I take this opportunity to accentuate my oath of allegiance (bai`yah) and the mujahidin of the Arabian Peninsula’s bai`yah to the ferocious lion, the champion of jihad, the humble servant of God, my beloved Shaykh, Usama bin Ladin, may Allah protect him. Verily, he is the man that has shook the thrones of the tyrants of the world. We pledge to wage jihad for the rest of our lives until either we implant Islam all over the world or meet our Lord as bearers of Islam. And how reputable, adventurous and pleasurable is such a life compared to those who remain sitting, working from nine to five?
He was with Awlaki when he was droned, so what? We killed 2 al-Qaeda bitches, period.

Egyptian Salafi Leader Muhammad Al-Zawahiri: Democracy Contravenes Islam; Shari'a Law Is The Answer To All Of Egypt's Problems

Al Qaeda #1's bro is on a conquest for the good of the Ummah.

........[Al-Sharq Al-Awsat:] "Do you think the current conditions in Egypt are suitable for regaining the political momentum that occurred two years ago?"

[Al-Zawahiri:] "If by 'momentum' you mean the factors that led to the 25 January revolution, such as injustice, then this will never be like it was in the past."
The Salafi-Jihadis Are Not The Problem; "It Is The West And The U.S. That Create Problems To Serve Their Own Interests"

[Al-Sharq Al-Awsat:] "Have you found suitable employment in Egypt? Has your life reached a point of normalcy following your return to the country after years living abroad?"

[Al-Zawahiri:] "No... I have not found employment opportunities despite my high degree of qualification and although I pioneered two new architectural theories. This is due to tightening security regarding myself and my siblings on the part of Islamist ideologues. The majority of us spent more than 15 years without an income, and now, they are intimidating people against us to the point that we cannot do anything."

[Al-Sharq Al-Awsat:] "Some people are of the view that Salafi-jihadis and their activities always cause problems for ruling regimes and the international community, particularly the West and the U.S. Do you agree?"

[Al-Zawahiri:] "This view is inverted; it is the ruling regimes and the international community – particularly the West and the U.S. – that create problems to serve their own interests."

Twitter yawns over TOS violation as they did when Al Shabaab, aka @HSMPress, threatened to kill French hostage Denis Allex if France attempted to rescue him. He died and Al Shabaab tweeted several images of a French commando who was killed in the failed hostage rescue operation.

I suppose we should start calling Twitter JihadTweet or JihadTwitter or TwitterJihad, much like we call Google's YouTube JihadTube.

Update: Kenya officials respond to the above threat We will not bargain with al-Shabaab

* Nairobi says hostages are non-combatants, not POWs
"not POW's", exactly.

Update: If you so choose, tweet this article to @hrw and/or contact them here and ask why the silence on these hostages and the death threat. If Jews were involved it would be all over the news.

Some In Amenas, #Algeria Attackers Are Placed At #Benghazi

Lovely

ALGIERS — Several Egyptian members of the squad of militants that lay bloody siege to an Algerian gas complex last week also took part in the deadly attack on the United States Mission in Libya in September, a senior Algerian official said Tuesday.

The Egyptians involved in both attacks were killed by Algerian forces during the four-day ordeal that ended in the deaths of at least 38 hostages and 29 kidnappers, the official said. But three of the militants were captured alive, and one of them described the Egyptians’ role in both assaults under interrogation by the Algerian security services, the official said.

If confirmed, the link between two of the most brazen assaults in recent memory would reinforce the transborder character of the jihadist groups now striking across the Sahara[More...]

In Amenas, #Algeria Hostage Crisis Reportedly Comes To A Violent End
Update: Report: 5 Terrorist 'Taken Alive'

Violence, thy name is radical Islam

ALGIERS, Algeria – Algerian bomb squads scouring a gas plant where Islamist militants took dozens of foreign workers hostage found "numerous" new bodies on Sunday as they searched for explosive traps left behind by the attackers, a security official said, a day after a bloody raid ended the four-day siege of the remote desert refinery.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation, said the bodies were badly disfigured and difficult to identify.

"The bodies could be either Algerian or foreign hostages," he said.

Algerian special forces stormed the natural gas complex in the Sahara desert on Saturday to end the standoff, and the government said all 32 militants were killed. Earlier Sunday, Algeria's chief government spokesman said he feared the toll of hostages -- which stood at 23 on Saturday -- would rise as the special forces teams finished their search.[...]

In the final assault, the remaining band of militants killed seven hostages before 11 of them were in turn cut down by the special forces, Algeria's state news agency said[More...]

Report: Hostage taking terrorists came from seven countries. Note the bold[Note: 48hr rule]
The militants who seized hostages at the In Amenas gas facility in southeast Algeria included nationals of seven countries – Tunisia, Egypt, Mali, Algeria, Canada, Nigeria and Mauritania. The group was trained in Nigeria.

It crossed into Algeria through Libya with the aim of seizing a large number of foreign hostages and transferring them to Mali in an attempt to force France to stop its military intervention in that African country.

BBC also noted the above:
Officials said the army launched its assault after Islamist militants began killing foreign hostages.

Mr Said said he very much feared the death toll "would, unfortunately, be revised upwards".

He added that the militants were from six different countries, "nationals of Arab and African countries, and of non-African countries".

Evil bast*rds:

The full extent of the militants’ chilling intent and the horrors inside the facility began to emerge yesterday. According to the eyewitness account of an Algerian cook, working at the compound, the kidnappers grabbed one British hostage and forced him at gunpoint to call for other Westerners to come out from where they were hiding. Once his colleagues had given themselves up, the Briton was shot in cold blood. “They threatened him until he called out in English to his friends,” said the man named Chabane. “A few minutes later, they blew him away.”
I can't find the link, but, I also read the above cook said the Brit was forced to call out "you're safe, they only want to kill Americans"

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by this.

Update: Hmmm: Hostage-takers 'taken alive' at gas plant

Five suspected members of the Islamist group which held foreign and local workers hostage at an Algerian gas plant have been arrested, reports say.

It's Friday After Prayers Day In #Egypt: Jihadis, Islamists Call For Demonstration Outside French Embassy In #Cairo

MOHAMMED_ZAWAHIRI_2.jpg

Via MEMRI

Several Islamist and jihadi groups have called for a demonstration outside the French embassy in Cairo, in protest over France's campaign against jihadis in Mali. The demonstration is slated to be held January 18, following Friday prayers[today..ed]. The groups, which include the General Islamic Movement (Al-tayyar al-islami al-'am), a coalition of Islamist groups; the Hazem Abu Isma'il Ultras; and the Salafi-jihadi movement, have issued their calls via their Facebook pages, among other venues[...]

The Salafi-jihadi movement, for its part, confirmed that its leaders and members will attend the demonstrations. A statement on their websites read: "At your service, Mali, the state of Islam! The infidel states of the West continue to pick fights in our Muslim countries with the soldiers of the devil, hoping to extinguish the light of the state of Islam, but how wrong they are! If Allah sows [something], who can reap [it]?"

The Salafi-jihadi leaders who confirmed attendance include Muhammad Al-Zawahiri[al-Qaeda #1' bro..ed], Ahmad Salama Mabrouk, Mirjan Salem, Tawfiq Al-'Afani, and others.

The attack on our embassy in Cairo on 9/11/2012, Muhammad al-Zawahiri's group called for the release of the blind sheikh. The terrorists in Algeria also want him released, among another yet unnamed one, in exchange for 2 Americans still held captive. Coincidence? I think not.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zawahiri's group and the others, again, demand the release of the no eyed bitch during the Islamic Rage boys demonstration today.

Update: Al Qaeda flags were numerous at the protest:

Child Abuse: Terrorist Groups Use Children To Engage In #Mali Fighting

childsoldiers_mali.jpg

Because the terrorists are cowards

Bamako/Dakar — Children are playing a major role in the Islamists' war effort, say eye-witnesses and human rights groups, who report children are taking an active part in fighting, patrolling, scouting combat zones, and staffing checkpoints.

Oumar Diakité, a resident of Konna in Mopti Region, central Mali, which Islamist groups tried to capture on 11 January prompting intervention by French forces, told IRIN: "Young children have been recruited. These children are sent on scouting missions to collect intelligence... And during clashes, they put these children - often just Koranic students - into the front line." Konna has still not been recaptured, according to French military sources.

Children have been seen staffing checkpoints in areas that came under aerial bombardment from French forces, according to a 15 January Human Rights Watch (HRW) communiqué.

Diakité told IRIN: "They [recruiters] make them believe that if they die they'll go straight to paradise because they are defending God's will. I know a woman who had her son in the ranks. Luckily we were able to find him and save him just in time."

In and around the northern city of Gao the mothers of children who were recruited have been trying to find their children, said residents.

HRW says children as young as 12 have been seen taking active part in fighting, many of them carrying AK-47s or hunting rifles. According to them, Islamic groups Ansar Dine, Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa (MUJAO), and Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, have recruited, trained and used several hundred children in their forces since April 2012.

Update III: ABC is reporting, per Panetta, "there may be seven or eight Americans among" those held by the terrorists
Algeria troops had surrounded the compound in the Sahara desert, where hostages from the U.S., Algeria, Norway, Japan, France and other countries are being held by terrorists who claim to be part of Al Qaeda and are led by a one-eyed smuggler known as **Mr. Marlboro.

Update IV: "We'll kill infidels": Algeria gunmen told hostage

(Reuters) - Islamist gunmen who seized hundreds of gas plant workers in the Sahara told Algerian staff they would not harm Muslims but would kill Western hostages they called "Christians and infidels", a local man who escaped said on Thursday.

In a rare eyewitness account of Wednesday's dawn raid deep in the desert, a local man employed at the facility told Reuters the militants appeared to have good inside knowledge of the layout of the complex and used the language of radical Islam.

"The terrorists told us at the very start that they would not hurt Muslims but were only interested in the Christians and infidels," Abdelkader, 53, said by telephone from his home in the nearby town of In Amenas. "We will kill them, they said."[More...]

US Officials Confirm Americans Among Those Held Hostage by Al Qaeda-Linked Group in Algeria

**Mokhtar Belmokhtar aka Mr Marlboro aka One eyed bitch

At least 3 Americans, maybe more.

Dear Obama, Al Qaeda is not decimated nor are they on the run!

U.S. officials have confirmed that Americans are among the hostages held following an attack by al Qaeda-linked insurgents on a BP joint-venture natural gas field in Algeria.

A senior intelligence official told ABC News that it currently appears three U.S. citizens are being held. However, the official cautioned that the numbers can change as can the overall number of hostages.

While the total number of hostages remains unclear, a number of reports have said as many as 41 hostages were being held. An official at BP told ABC News that there are approximately 700 local staff and contractors at the facility and 20 international BP staff and contractors at the In Amenas gas field in eastern central Libya.

In a briefing, State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nuland condemned the attacks and confirmed that U.S. citizens are among the hostages.

"In order to protect their safety," said Nuland, "I'm not going to get into numbers, I'm not going to get into names, I'm not going to get into any further details as we continue to work on this situation with Algerian authorities and also their employers."[...]

Al Qaeda linked militants called the Khaled Abu al-Abbas Brigade claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was retaliation for Algeria letting French jets use its airspace during its ongoing military operations in Mali. The news agency Agence France Presse (AFP) said it had received a telephone call from a person or persons who described themselves as hostage takers, and said, "We are members of al-Qaeda and we came from northern Mali. We belong to the Khaled Abul Abbas Brigade led by **Mokhtar Belmokhtar."

Last fall, Mokhtar Belmokhtar broke away from AQIM, the North African wing of al Qaeda, after other militants questioned his possible connection to weapons and drug smuggling, but remains affiliated with al Qaeda. He announced the formation of his new group in a video released on the web in December. [More...]

Prayers for their quick release, unharmed. NO payoff, released...period.

Al Qaeda Linked Group From Mali Claim They Are Holding 7 Americans, Among Others..
After Taking Control Of Algerian Gas Field(Update)

The group said the attack was in revenge for Algeria's support of France's operation against Al Qaeda-linked Malian rebels groups far to the southeast

A group called the Katibat Moulathamine, or the Masked Brigade, called a Mauritanian news outlet to say one of its subsidiaries had carried out the operation on the Ain Amenas gas field, taking 41 hostages from nine or 10 different nationalities.

The group's claim could not be independently substantiated and typically there would be fewer than 20 foreign staff members on site on a typical day, along with hundreds of Algerian employees[...]

In a statement BP said the site was "attacked and occupied by a group of unidentified armed people," and some of its personnel are believed to be "held by the occupiers."

The number and identities of the hostages was still unclear, but Ireland announced that a 36-year-old married Irish man was among them, while Japan and Britain said their citizens were involved as well. A Norwegian woman said her husband called her saying he had been taken hostage.

In addition to the two foreigners killed -- one of them a Briton -- six others were wounded in the attack, including two foreigners, two police officers and two security agents, Algeria's state news agency reported.

Al Shabaab 'Claims' They Killed Hostage Dennis Allex After French Commandos Failed Rescue Attempt

France has reported two commandos and the hostage, Dennis Allex, were killed during the rescue attempt. Not wanting to take credit for killing the hostage during the rescue, al-Shabaab is now claiming they killed Alexx after and are blaming the French for his death.

The African Taliban's Twitter account put out the following 'press release' in a "'TwitLonger'. Twitter has become al-Shabaab's only means of communicating. You could say the Jawa Report is mainly responsible for that.

Anyway, here is part of the press release minus the Allah this and Allah that

The Verdict:

The death of the two French soldiers pales into insignificance besides the dozens of Muslim civilians senselessly killed by the French forces during the operation. Avenging the deaths of these civilians and taking into consideration France’s increasing persecution of Muslims around the world, its oppressive anti-Islam policies at home, French military operations in the war against Islamic Shari’ah in Afghanistan and, most recently, in Mali, and its continued economic, political and military assistance towards the African invaders in Muslim lands, Harakat Al-Shabaab Al Mujahideen has reached a unanimous decision to execute the French intelligence officer, Dennis Allex .

With the rescue attempt, France has voluntarily signed Allex’s death warrant. Following the failed operation, Le Drian, aware that execution is the natural corollary of treachery, announced that the punishment had already been meted out, despite the fact that Allex was at the time alive and safe in another safe house.

Now read what they said the French commandos did to 'innocents'
Saturday’s botched rescue operation was an abysmal failure; both in terms of intelligence and the ground operation. The French forces, driven by false intelligence reports from the ground, landed a few kilometers away from the town of Bulo-Marer and headed towards their designated location, killing all the villagers that crossed their path. The villagers, including an elderly woman, were later found some with their throats slit and others with bullets riddle all over their bodies. But before the French forces could reach their destination, the Mujahideen in Bulo-Marer were alerted by HSM intelligence teams who had information of the French movements.
Throats slit? Not hardly.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Dennis Allex. Also, the commandos killed in the operation. One such commando has his images on the African Taliban's Twitter account:

https://twitter.com/HSMPress/status/290804482344898560
https://twitter.com/HSMPress/status/290812010076188672

Twitter has ignored me and others flagging the images and has allowed the images to stay. Although, the African Taliban did notice my call for flagging the images:

twitter_alshabaab_images_frenchcommando_zpse06b310d

Twitter, like Facebook and JihadTube, has no problem providing services to terror groups. They, the terror groups, are quite happy now on Twitter knowing they have free reign to spread their propaganda.

French President Raises Terror Threat Level

After Mali & Somalia military action

The French president says the country will raise its domestic terror threat level after military action in Mali and Somalia, promising to increase protection at public buildings and transportation networks.

President Francois Hollande said Saturday he had ordered increased security after the French military operations in the two African countries against Islamist forces.

France has some of the world's most recognizable monuments and a wide-ranging national transportation network; like the U.S., it also has an organized government response if there are specific fears of a terrorist attack.

French aircraft and troops are backing soldiers in Mali who are trying to push back Islamist offensives; in Somalia, French commandos launched a failed raid to rescue an intelligence agent held hostage there for three years.[...]

For the past nine months, the Islamic militants have controlled a large swath of northern Mali, a lawless desert region where kidnapping has flourished.

"French armed forces supported Malian units this afternoon to fight against terrorist elements," Hollande said in Paris.

He did not give any details of the operation, other than to say that it was aimed in part at protecting the 6,000 French citizens in Mali, where seven of them already are being held captive.

In November of last year Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb's (AQIM) leader Abu Musab Abdel Wadoud was interviewed by Terror TV's Al-Jazeera. He stated "French intervention in Mali will seal the fate of their hostages". Surprisingly, for France, they ignored the propaganda.

The US killed a senior al Qaeda military commander during a recent drone strike in Pakistan's Taliban-controlled tribal agency of North Waziristan.

Sheikh Yasin Al Kuwaiti, who was killed in a US drone strike on Jan. 8, was a "key al Qaeda paramilitary commander" who was "very high up the food chain," a US intelligence official who tracks the terror group in Pakistan's tribal areas told The Long War Journal. Sheikh Yasin was a top commander and trainer for the Lashkar al Zil, or Shadow Army, al Qaeda's military cadre [for more information on the the Lashkar al Zil, see LWJ report, Al Qaeda's paramilitary 'Shadow Army'].

UK: Al Qaeda Operative Abid Naseer Extradited To America!

Abid_Nasser_zps896837f4

Abid lost his appeal Heartache for him, cornhole watch for us!

BBC

A man accused of leading an al-Qaeda plot to set off bombs in Manchester has been extradited to the US.

Abid Naseer has been described by a High Court judge as an "al-Qaeda operative" who "poses a serious threat to the national security of the UK".

UK prosecutors said there was not enough evidence to charge him.

However, the US wants to put him on trial, arguing the Manchester plot was part of a wider conspiracy to also bomb New York.

In December his bid to stop the extradition was thrown out of the European Court of Human Rights, where his lawyers had argued he could be tortured if returned to Pakistan from the US[..]

The removal of Mr Naseer follows three months after Abu Hamza al-Masri[ Hook Hamza...ed], Babar Ahmad[ Azzam.com Webmaster..ed] and three other terrorism suspects were finally extradited to the US after years of legal wrangling.

They will stand trial later this year. If convicted, Mr Naseer faces a possible life sentence in a supermax prison.

A Home Office spokesperson said: "We can confirm that today Abid Naseer was extradited to America where he is accused of terrorism offences. His case is now a matter for the US authorities.".

Ansar al Sharia Tunisia releases pictures of FBI agents

LWJ

The official media outlet for Ansar al Sharia Tunisia has released pictures purportedly showing three FBI agents who interviewed Ali al Harzi, a suspect in the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya. The release of the pictures online was first noticed by the SITE Intelligence Group.

The US government had been seeking access to Harzi for more than two months, since he was arrested in Turkey and deported to his native Tunisia in October. Harzi's lawyer told the Associated Press yesterday (Dec. 22) that the FBI had finally been given permission to interview him.

The interview last three hours and was conducted in front of the judge hearing Harzi's case, with the help of a Moroccan translator.

According to the AP, the FBI asked Harzi not only about the Benghazi attack, but also the assault on the US Embassy in Tunis three days later (Sept. 14). Ansar al Sharia Tunisia, which is headed by a notorious al Qaeda-linked jihadist named Seifullah ben Hassine (a.k.a. Abu Iyad al Tunisi), orchestrated that assault.

If the pictures are of the interviewing FBI agents, then it shows that Ansar al Sharia Tunisia was stalking the Americans. Indeed, in its message announcing the photos online, the group claimed that "despite being forcefully prevented from taking pictures, we were able to take some exclusive pictures."
