Possible IED Explosion at NY Gallery

It is across the street from St. Vincent De Paul.

I see reports the Gallery targeted was Israeli owned.

More here at NY Post.

The explosion, described by one neighbor as “deafening,” happened outside the Associated Blind Housing facility at 135 W. 23rd Street. The facility provides housing, training and other services for the blind.

Witnesses described hearing a massive noise — “100x louder than thunder,” one tweeted.

The smell of gunfire filled the air. People flooded the street from nearby bars and restaurants.

Earlier today a pipe bomb went off in Seaside and police are on the scene of a possible third explosion in Charlottesville VA.

My only comments is the NYC explosion, if it was utilities you would not smell gunpowder. Looks like a device similar to the Boston Marathon bombings. Though at this time there are only 14 reportedly minor injuries. It's possible the dumpster contained or directed upward most of the explosion. There are reports the NYC device was in a dumpster.

Update: 25 hurt.

The Charlottesville incident appears to be a transformer issue.
