Bad News: Syrian Government Continues to Win Key Battles

Why is this bad? Because it seems to me that our only real interest in Syria is a stalemate. As long as the Mullah loving terrorists are killing the bin Laden loving terrorists, I'm happy.

To paraphrase Han Solo: Better them than me!

So, maybe it's time to start arming the FSA? Keep the war going and what not before it's too late and Assad's goons get such an upper hand that it's effectively over:

Syria's regime captured from rebel fighters a key town near Lebanon on Monday, as doubts were cast on any breakthrough at a Geneva peace conference slated for next month....

But Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP that the army had secured most of Nabak, including all of the western part of the town adjacent to the highway.

Pro-government newspaper Al-Watan said the highway, essential to move troops and weapons and cement regime control from Damascus to the central province of Homs, would reopen soon.

Also, I think we should be selling arms to the Kurds no matter what happens with the other two factions. That way, no matter who wins, we have a reliable ally in the region. I just don't see either side taking back Kurdish territory, even after this thing is over.
