German Rapper Who Once Toured w/ DMX Now Fighting Jihad in Syria (Updated/Bumped He's Dead Jim!)

I hadn't heard about this guy, but it piqued my interest. The last rapping jihadist I was familiar with was the late great Omar Hammami, who was rapping away in Somalia right until the moment al Shabaab slit his throat.

And as I kept reading about how he was a big time gangsta rapper in Germany I couldn't help but think: they have gangsta rap in Germany!

David Hasselhoff is rolling over in his grave right now. Wait, Hasselhoff is dead, right? But I digress.

Here's CNN's profile of Denis Cuspert -- aka Deso Dogg -- and more lately aka Abu Maleeq and aka Abu Talha al-Almani:

In August, al Qaeda's propaganda arm released a video starring the German rapper Deso Dogg.

Wearing combat fatigues and standing next to a waterfall in Syria, Deso Dogg raps in German calling on others to join the jihad and "to make an effort for Paradise."

Deso Dogg, whose real name is Denis Cuspert, is one of several dozen German citizens who have fought in Syria....

Cuspert joined Berlin street gangs and became a popular artist in the German gangsta-rap scene, known by his nom de rap "Deso Dogg" and touring with other rappers such as DMX.

Anyway, here's the video of Deso Dogg in Syria. It's kinda funny. I've never seen a jihadi so excited to play in the water.

And here's a music video featuring the musical musings of Deso Dogg dedicated to bottom ho, Osama bin Laden.

Is it just me, or was that the worst nasheed since .... well at least since Emerson "Nasheed Expert" Begolly got locked up in federal poundmeintheass prison?

So, does this guy suck or does German just not lend itself to the genre? Come on, when's the last good song you can think of actually sung in German? Nena's 99 Luftballons was almost three decades ago!

Update by Howie: He's dead Jim!
