Two American Hostages Held in Nigeria Released Unharmed

We reported the incident in the 25th

Two Americans were kidnapped by pirates after their ship was attacked off Nigeria's coast, U.S. officials said Thursday.

The U.S.-flagged oil supply vessel C-Retriever was targeted in the Gulf of Guinea early Wednesday, Reuters reported.

Maritime news website gCaptain reported that the ship's captain and its chief engineer had been abducted.

They are reported to be safe and ion good condition.

Thanks to Laura.

There is no word on if ransom was paid but we can assume its likely. Still we are glad they are safe.

Not only do these pirates fund themselves by kidnapping, its thought that al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula raises at least half its funds by kidnapping.

The other half comes from Saudi Arabia.
