Zawahiri Orders Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant Disolved

Zawahiri is suffering from delusions of grandeur methinks.

The leader of Al-Qaeda Ayman Zawahiri has announced that the rebel group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) will be dissolved, leaving only the Nusra Front to carry out its operations.

A spokesman for Zawahiri told Al Jazeera that the leader of the ISIL, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, from now on will only be operational in Iraq. This will leave Syria completely to the Nusra Front commander Abu Mohammad Golani.

‘Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi made a big mistake in forming the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant without consultation,’ the statement said.

Personally I doubt that either Nusra Front leader Golani or the ISIL, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's gives a rats behind what Zawahiri says from Pakistan.

All the dying with any lack of clear progress in months is causing the Sunni insurgency to fragment and melt down. But its too much of an opportunity for AQI to gain influence in Syria to pass up. So look for upcoming skirmishes between AQ allied Syrian rebel groups as well as between other Syrian rebels and the Kurds.

Which means even more confusion and dead al-Qaeda fighters. But remember they love death more than you love life so its all good, no?
