Obligatory Syrian Heart Eating Terrorist Video Post

Robert Spencer has a sanitized copy of the video here. Here is an more slightly uncensored version from Live Leak.

We swear to god that we will eat your hearts and livers you soldiers or Bashar the dog.. We are the heroes of Baba Amr

The video was released by Syrian Truth, which is a group who is supportive of the regime. To be honest the man speaking in the video's accent sounds close to other videos I've seen featuring regime forces.

Remember the rape video that was blamed on Libyan rebels, but utimately had only one source, the Gadaffi regime?

Another hint might be that Iran's Press TV is running with it.

Are there rebels who might do this? Yes. Are there regime elements that might do this? Yes. Are there regime or rebel elements that would fake this and blame it on the other side? Yes.

Its why they accuse us of false flag stuff all the time, they'd do it in a heartbeat. So when we run these, we kind of like to note which savages are running the videos of the other savages. Just for um, clarity I guess?

If you think to yourself, "Well that's pretty f*cked up right there", I'm with you on that.

Update: Time was actually able to interview the man doing the cutting and eating, turns out he was eating a lung, not a heart. So that's kind of a fail there? I mean I've never heard of any special powers you can get from lungs?

It also turns out that the man is from the West in Syria near the Lebanese border which might explain his accent.

News sites around the world have shown Khalid al Hamad sink his teeth into what appears to be the lung of a dead Syrian government soldier. His fellow rebels have called for him to be arrested or killed for the act. Human rights groups have condemned him. But Al Hamad has no regrets.

In an interview conducted via Skype in the early hours of May 14 al Hamad explained to TIME what caused him to cut out the soldier’s organs: “We opened his cell phone and I found a clip of a woman and her two daughters fully naked and he was humiliating them, and sticking a stick here and there.”

The video, a 27-second clip in which al Hamad brandishes organs that appear to be the lungs and hearts of the Syrian soldier who lies dead at al Hamad’s feet, was first seen by two TIME reporters in April. A few weeks later TIME obtained a copy. Though we had been told by witnesses to the filming that the video was legitimate, we set about authenticating its content, aware of the potential that it could have been faked for propaganda purposes. Al Hamad has now confirmed that the video is real, and that he did indeed take a bite of the soldier’s lung. (At the time of the filming, al Hamad believed that he was biting into the liver. A surgeon who has seen the video confirms that the organ in question was a lung, which somewhat resembles the liver). On May 12, a copy of the video appeared on a pro-regime website, sparking a flood of Facebook “shares” and YouTube views.

Al Hamad, who is Sunni and harbors a sectarian hatred for Alawite Muslims, said he has another gruesome video of his killing a government soldier from the Alawite faith. (Syrian President Bashar al Assad is Alawite; the conflict in Syria is increasingly sectarian.) “Hopefully we will slaughter all of them [Alawites]. I have another video clip that I will send to them. In the clip I am sawing another Shabiha [pro-government militiaman] with a saw. The saw we use to cut trees. I sawed him in small pieces and large ones.”

Well that explains that and also raises the issue of propaganda videos that are spread via cell phone networks rather than internet. The FSA was quick to call for the punishment of al Hamad while the rest of the world was watching. And al Hamad tried to excuse his savagery by pointing out the videos of regime savagery he was watching on his cell phone.

So after all that, we're right back where we started with two groups of savages killing each other and arguing about who has the best snuff video porn collection on their smart phone.
