"Winning": Terror Arrests up 60% in UK in 2012

"Al Qaeda on the run":

Terror arrests in Britain have jumped by 60 percent, according to Home Office figures.

Police held 228 people on suspicion of terrorist-related offences in the 12 months up to June 2012 - up from the 140 people held in the previous 12 months.

To be fair, it may just be that the police in the UK are just getting better at nabbing the bad guys before they act. Would-be jihadis are now being arrested before they get on a plane for Pakistan to hit the training camps.

Which is a good thing inasmuch as they don't ever get the chance to become a martyr for the cause. But a bad thing because they never get a chance to get killed for the cause.
