Ministry of Irony: Big Brother Catches Big Brothers

Politicians tales fail to match black box data on their cars.

With event data recorders - aka black boxes - likely about to become mandatory equipment on all new cars and light-duty trucks sold in America, the recent experiences of two highly visible politicians shed light on the pros and cons.

First, there is former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine's official vehicle was involved in a 2007 crash in which he sustained serious injuries.

It turned out that Corzine was not buckled up even though his driver was moving down the freeway in excess of 90 mph.
