What I'm Thankful For
I'm huntng again this AM with my son. This Thanksgiving I'm thankful for so much.
I'm thankful for kids still too young and innocent to see the world through cynical eyes.
I'm thankful for the farmer who lives just outside of town letting us hunt his property.
I'm thankful for a wife who has gotten hotter over the years. Seriously. She doesn't read this so no brownie points.
For a country that still allows me to have more guns in the house than people (for now).
For my Ford F-150.
For parents who instilled love of God, family, and country.
For loyal readers who stuck with us through the Greyrooster years.
For 4G in deer stands.
For my ancestors who bugged out of Europe while the getting out was good.
Little known fact: My farthest ancestor in the New World came to Jamestown, putting the Shackleford clan here before the Pilgrims - nearly 400 years ago.
Take that you dirty Wetbacks who trace your lineage to the Mayfllower. Welcome to America, now go home.
