Note to Jeff (Inside Baseball) On the Irrelevance of Minor Blogs
I don't think it's you. The problem is the corporatizating of blogs.
Very few true blogs remain. In fact, can you name a true big blog that still remains a blog in it's truest sense -- independent and unmediated by editors?
I can think of two offhand. So, it's not a shunning. Not intentional. At least, not outside of the narrow blog wars we find ourselves in sometimes. It's just the new corporate reality of blogging.
We're Mel's Diner in a McDonalds world. We're not part of the supply chain. We just don't matter that much any more.
I'm not complaining, but I'd be lying if I didn't pine for the good old days when blogs were independent and pretty much every time I blegged for a link all the biggies would do it no questions asked.
It also makes for a much less interesting blogosphere. One which is increasingly looking like a minor reflection of Fox News.
But I for one welcome our new corporate overlords. So, Townhall, call me.
