Pick 3
Clint Eastwood was a nice surprise at the RNC. I've always like him. But his appearance got me thinking about other Republican Hollywood celebrities and who might have been a great guest speaker for the convention.
What Republican celebrity would you have like to have seen at the RNC convention and why?
Here are my picks (in no particular order):
Adam Sandler - I don't care for his toilet humor and I don't think I've ever heard him make a political speech. But I think his appearance would have really appealed to the younger generation, so long as he left the fart jokes out.
Jon Voight - Never a huge fan as an actor, but he won some major points with me with his open letter to Barack Obama. I would have loved to have seen him update his letter at the RNC.
Chuck Norris - 'Nough said.
It is difficult to limit it to three. A few others I like include Kelsey Grammer, James Earl Jones,* and The Rock.
HERE is a list to get you started. But don't limit yourself to this one list. There are plenty of others. Just Google around.
*Updated to strike out James Earl Jones. I had forgotten about his comments on the Tea Party. Also, some in comments mentioned Gary Sinise. He definitely deserves to be at the top of the list. I had even considered him for one of my top three. But in the course of writing the post, his name just slipped my mind. Sorry, Gary.
Speaking of Gary Sinise, I watched his Lt. Dan Band documentary "For The Common Good" just last weekend. If you haven't seen it, you are missing something really great. Trailer below the fold.
