Strippers Hardest Hit by New Pole Tax

Omar Bakri Mohammad's daughter.

No, really:

The [Houston] City Council passed an ordinance Wednesday that requires strip clubs to pay a $5-per-visitor fee to help pay for the analysis of biological evidence collected from rape victims in hopes of identifying their attackers....

The fee would also apply to clubs that stage occasional adult entertainment, such as "a wet T-shirt contest or naked sushi contest," according to the ordinance, which states all the revenue is to go toward processing rape kits.

This is asinine. While I agree that strip clubs do promote an unhealthy attitude towards women, there's no link between strip clubs and rape.

Under this logic they should tax the various Real Housewives shows. Or The View. Or anything on Bravo. Then use the money to investigate murder. Because when I see those shows, I swear I want to kill someone.

But I guess under the Supreme Court's logic the federal government could now tax strip clubs. Or force you to go to them on penalty of a "tax".
