Iraq War Veteran & Wounded Warrior Jeremy Feldbusch Throws Strike On Opening Day 1st Pitch

Did I mention he is blind?

Sports can be like a bubble. Strangers who happen to be fans of a certain sport or team can get together and enjoy each others' company for hours. And sometimes, there are moments at a stadium or ballpark where something truly special happens. Something that really is worth celebrating.

At the Pittsburgh Pirates home opener on Thursday, Jeremy Feldbusch did what so many other people have done before him. He was given the opportunity to throw out the first pitch in front of a sellout crowd.

Feldbusch's toss was a little bit different. Feldbusch is blind in both eyes from serving a tour of duty in Iraq. According to his biography on the Champions of Change website, it happened when a piece of shrapnel took out his right eye and damaged the optic nerve in the left frontal lobe of his brain.

God Bless him!
