Good News: al Qaeda Coming to New York!
Okay, maybe not, but over at a forum known to play host to many members of al Qaeda this has been posted.
Let me caution that if anything this is an indication of al Qaeda's aspirations not their imminent intentions. In other words, al Qaeda wants to hit New York again and although they've been doing their best to carry through ... we've been doing better.
However, the image itself wasn't a threat at all.
The picture itself was posted in an Arabic jihadi forum, but in a section which focuses on how to make images. It was used as an example of how to merge two images in Photoshop. So, this is less of a direct threat than it is more of an example to other jihadis how to use photoshop successfully to scare the kafir.
And you know what? It worked. I saw Rep. Peter King on Fox News this morning discussing his letter to Hillary Clinton asking the State Department to list Boko Haram as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), something they've been dragging their feet on. And Fox showed this very image and asked Rep. King whether an attack was coming.
That's how psychological warfare works. Al Qaeda does a silly photoshop, and America holds its breath.
But two can play at that game. I happen to know that we do quite a bit of psychological warfare of our own. The thing is, we're better at it then they are.
The evidence? There is none. Which just happens to be the best marker of successful deception.
