Rambo: Traumatized Soldiers as Killers

One of the reasons I was so pissed at the soldier who murdered 16 Afghans earlier this week was that he conveniently gave leftists all the fuel they needed to their pre-established narrative about what "traumatized" vets are like.

Over at Blackfive, McQ brings it all home:

This is precisely what so many in the military and veteran’s community feared the reaction might be among some of the media.

It is a reminder of the “crazy Vietnam Vet” syndrome that infected the media during that era and afterward.

It's the vet as victim meme pushed by Hollywood since Vietnam.

They try to spin their coverage as concern for veterans, but it's not.

It's a simple cause --> effect relationship.

If war causes men into antisocial behavior, then the cure is to end war.

See, I told you it was all Bush's fault.
