LAHORE/ ISLAMABAD: Two NATO gunship helicopters wounded three people, after violating Pakistan’s airspace in North Waziristan, a private TV channel reported on Friday. According to sources, the NATO gunship helicopters opened fire in North Waziristan’s Dattakhel area, injuring three people. The helicopters, intruding several kilometres into Pakistani territory, struck the Lowara Mandi village in Dattakhel.

However, the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said that no NATO aircraft crossed the border into Pakistan, and there were no reported injuries.

“We are aware of a claim reporting a cross border incident that involved a NATO aircraft in North Waziristan on Friday,” said a press release issued by the US Embassy. “We refer questions concerning the integrity of Pakistani airspace to the Pakistan Air Force,” the press release added.

Keeping an eye on this one...
