Yemen indiscriminately bombing Southern provinces, 6 dead, scores wounded

The regime is using the same tactics in the South that it employed during the Sa'ada war that drove the war to six rounds, six years and thousands of casualties without resolution. Later reports indicate three dead including a child and eleven seriously wounded.

Update: Death toll rises to six. Gruesome photos here. Reports indicate security forces turned back an ambulance. Another English report here.

SANAA — Two people were killed and dozens wounded on Monday in what witnesses described as the "indiscriminate" shelling by the Yemeni army of the southern town of Daleh, a medical official said.

Local officials said the artillery fire, from army positions around the town, followed clashes in the town centre between police and armed supporters of the Southern Movement, a coalition of groups wanting greater autonomy or independence for the region.

Eyewitnesses said the army had shelled the town centre "indiscriminately".
