CNN Lands Coveted Interview w/ Benghazi Terrorists

AllahP has this link up to a CNN segment where John King is teasing an interview that they were able to pull off with one of the suspects in the Benghazi terror attack. Mind you, it's not the actual interview itself, they're just trying to get some buzz going for when they actually do air the interview some time down the road.

I don't think the weird thing here is that CNN landed the interview while the FBI hasn't interviewed the "suspect". Didn't Vice do that like six months ago?

No, the weird thing here is that CNN expects the FBI to interview a "suspect" in Libya.

Does the American Left actually now embrace the notion of the US as a worldwide police force? Because, the last time I checked, the FBI was a police agency. Sure, it's a federal police agency, but a police agency nonetheless.

When a crime happens in Libya you don't send American police to arrest the criminal.

Which is the subtext of the notion that the FBI should be interviewing suspects in Libya. That a crime happened and now we should send in the police to do their thing.

Are people really that stupid to think that even if such a thing should be done that they believe that it could be done? That somehow the FBI can go to a lawless and governmentless country and just take care of business as if they were investigating a string of bank robberies in Iowa?

And it's no longer just the left, because many on the Right have jumped on the let's-treat-acts-of-war-and-terror-as-if-they-are-ordinary-crimes bandwagon. Before you say, no, it's not us! what about those of you who think that it's "illegal" for the President of the US to "extra-judicially murder" a US citizen with a drone strike?

The alternative to "extra-judicial" is judicially approved, meaning you believe courts need to be involved. Which means a lawsuit, a trial, and a verdict must be passed.

In other words, you want to treat acts of terror as crimes and those committing those terrorist acts as .... criminals.

I'm actually not opposed to this. I do think terrorists are criminals, and I would like to see them prosecuted (then swiftly executed).

So, okay, we're on the same page. Except .... how is that supposed to happen when the "criminal" is in a country which is either harboring him for political reasons (eg, Iran, Pakistan) or is a place on a map that no government really controls (eg, Afghanistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya)?

Sure, it would be nice if the FBI could track down those responsible for Benghazi, arrest them, and bring them back to the US for justice. But that can't happen because it's just not feasible.

Just as it isn't feasible to indict al Qaeda suspects in Yemen and then wait around for 10 years while they wage war against us and our interests around the globe hoping and praying that Yemeni courts will get us an extradition hearing because, goshdarnit, that's just what a nation of laws does.

Oh, the incredible amount of angst and hand wringing that must be part of the daily lives of the armchair Constitutional lawyers who worry about the civil rights of al Qaeda members being violated in countries like Yemen. It must suck to be you.

But what about Benghazi? Are those of you who are so worried about drone kills really in such a pre-9/11 mindset that you would actually object should President Obama actually take these guys out, hellfire missile style? Or does that only happen when it turns out the al Qaeda member in question just happens to be a citizen? A citizen who fled his own country to join al Qaeda to wage war on the country from some sh*thole in the Middle East, but a citizen nonetheless.

I'll tell you what: you lose sleep if and when we kill the Benghazi terrorists without "due process". Me? I'll pass out and then sleep a solid 8 after I've spend the previous 24 hours celebrating the demise of those who made war on my fellow Americans and the fact that Obama finally got off his ass and did something about this "phony scandal" worth celebrating.

And I'll dream of rainbows and ponies.

US Tax Dollars Funding al Qaeda & Taliban Supporters

This really sucks, but is it really any surprise? Doesn't the law of percentages kind of dictate that if you spread enough money around a sh*thole like Afghanistan, that you are bound to contract with al Qaeda and Taliban sympathizers?

Even if the number of al Qaeda/Taliban type supporters is on what I reckon to be the low end -- say, 20% -- then it follows that a whole lot of bad guys are going to end up on our payroll. It's expected.

The real problem here is that apparently we know about the bad guys receiving US contracts but we continue to pay them anyway. All in the name of "due process rights".

This is what happens when your government and military are run by lawyers:

Supporters of the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan have been getting U.S. military contracts, and American officials are citing “due process rights” as a reason not to cancel the agreements, according to an independent agency monitoring spending.

The U.S. Army Suspension and Debarment Office has declined to act in 43 such cases, John Sopko, the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, said today in a letter accompanying a quarterly report to Congress.

The real essence of the report is that most of the billions of dollars in aid to Afghanistan isn't getting at the "root problem" of that country's instability. Which is accountant speak for there's no amount of money that could be spent by us to to drag these people kicking and screaming into the 19th century.

No, I meant 19th century. Eh, who am I kidding: the 18th century would be an improvement for most of these people.

Smithsonian Interested In Trayvon Martin's Hoodie

After seeing Trayvon Martin's framed hoodie at trial, I jokingly told friends the item would likely end up in a museum somewhere. I actually mentioned the Smithsonian specifically, but only in jest. I honestly didn't think the world's most incredible museum of history would stoop to pandering race-baiters like Al Sharpton and Barack Obama.


I was wrong.

Sharpton would like to see the hoodie reside one day at the National Museum of African American History and Culture now under construction on the Mall and expected to open in 2015. The museum’s director, Lonnie Bunch, has assembled other pieces with legal themes. He acquired a guard tower from Louisiana’s notorious Angola State Penitentiary and the handcuffs used to restrain renowned African American scholar and Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. in an episode that sparked a national debate about race and led to a "beer summit" with Obama aimed at cooling passions.

Martin's hoodie, Bunch said, represents a unique opportunity to further the discussion about race in America.

Ultimately, the decision for the fate of the clothing will be up to Martin's family. It is my personal belief they will choose the most profitable destination for the hoodie. The likes of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson will have no problems raising whatever amount the Martins' demand.

Saudi Arabia Sentences Blogger to 600 Lashes for Insulting Giant Cube Idol

This is Sharia, where being lashed for insulting the giant cube idol is the law of the land.

A Saudi court has sentenced a activist to seven years in prison and 600 lashes for violating the nation's anti-cybercrime law, Human Rights Watch reported Wednesday.

A Jeddah Criminal Court found Raif Badawi, who has been in prison since June 2012, guilty this week of insulting Islam through his website and in television comments.

"This incredibly harsh sentence for a peaceful blogger makes a mockery of Saudi Arabia's claims that it supports reform and religious dialogue," said Nadim Houry, the deputy Middle East director at Human Rights Watch. "A man who wanted to discuss religion has already been locked up for a year and now faces 600 lashes and seven years in prison."

Mosque leaders are slamming a politician for "imposing" animal welfare on Muslim children:

LANCASHIRE Council of Mosques chairman Salim Mulla has criticised former county leader Geoff Driver for imposing his animal welfare views on the Muslim community.

He spoke out after the Tory urged the giant authority to pre-stun all animals killed for meat in school meals. [...]

Coun Mulla, Mayor of Blackburn, said pre-stunned meat was not considered Halal by some Muslims.

He said: "This is Coun Driver's view on animal welfare and I respect that.

Bad News: Iranian Backed Terrorists Take Key City from Rebels w/ Deep al Qaeda Links

If we keep loosing strategic cities such as Homs, how are we ever going to keep this war going indefinitely? You know, so that all the bad guys can kill each other:

Syrian government forces seized control of a key neighborhood of Homs on Monday, activists and state media said, delivering a blow to besieged opposition fighters in the city once dubbed “the capital of the revolution.”

Rebels had retreated from around 95 percent of the neighborhood of Khaldiyeh by midday Monday after a morning air raid that was followed by bombardment with surface-to-surface missiles and mortars, activists said. Syrian state television went further and said government forces had “restored security and stability” to the area.

Second look at sending weapons to the rebels? Forget Turkey. We could funnel the weapons through the Kurds, who have been doing a bang up job of killing as many al Qaeda types as they can get their hands on.

Awesome: Taliban Free 36 ~ 300 Prisoners in Raid

Why is the figure somewhere between 36 and 300? Local officials claim "dozens" while the Taliban claim "300". So, given that both sides are completely full of sh*t let's just split the difference and go with, I dunno, 150 or so?

Up to 40 armed men disguised as police officers have launched a major attack on a prison holding hundreds of militants in the Pakistani city of Dera Ismail Khan.

A series of explosions shook the complex before the attackers fired rocket propelled grenades and machine gun rounds at guards, according to district police chief Sohail Khalid....

Pakistani Taliban spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said 100 gunmen and seven suicide bombers had been sent to the prison to free the group's leaders.

He claimed they had freed around 300 prisoners, but that could not immediately be verified.

Mushtaq Jadoon, the town's civil commissioner, said dozens of prisoners had escaped

And as a reminder, that's the second prison break in a week in which a lot of bad guys have been freed. Al Qaeda pulled the same stunt seven days ago in Iraq. And why wouldn't the Taliban follow suit? It seems to be a winning strategy.

What Do You Mean America Not Helping in Syria?

A Pittsburgh man may be the latest American killed as part of the global Muslim jihad against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. The man, identified as Amir Farouk Ibrahim, 32, was reportedly killed July 22 in fighting between Syrian Kurdish forces and those linked to the Islamic State of Iraq, an al-Qaida affiliate.


The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a British-based Syrian opposition group, posted pictures of Ibrahim's American and Egyptian passports on its Facebook page. Ibrahim's passport appeared alongside about a dozen others belonging to men from around the Islamic world, underscoring the fact that the Syrian conflict has become a transnational one.

"The documents were found after the ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) retreated from the town after intense clashes last week with the YPG (Yekineyen Parastina Gela Kurdish faction)," the Syrian Observatory wrote on its Facebook page. "We do not know the fate of the owners of these documents, whether they are dead or alive and still active in Syria."

I'd like to personally thank the Islamic State of Iraq for helping him seek Jihad in the way of Allah and to Bashar al-Assad a Kurdish militia for making sure he didn't get any bright ideas about returning to Pittsburgh.

All's well that ends well I always say.

The surge of violence in Iraq continued Monday when 15 car bombs killed at least 46 people and injured more than 100, according to security sources.

Ten of the bombings were in Baghdad, mainly in Shiite neighborhoods. Targets included a hospital, a restaurant and markets. At least 30 people were killed and more than 100 wounded, authorities said.

Even More Good News From Libya

How's that Libya thing working out for you Mr. President?

At least one soldier was killed in overnight fighting in Libya's eastern city of Benghazi, a security official said on Monday, in violence that has surged since last week's killing of an anti-Islamist political activist.


The clashes erupted in the western Gwesha district between an armed group and military special forces, hours after explosions that targeted buildings used by the judiciary.

"Clashes broke out between special forces and an unknown armed group," Mohammed al-Hijazy, a spokesman for Benghazi security operations, said by telephone. "At least one soldier was killed. The special forces have now retaken control."

Heh, unknown armed group that likes to do prison breaks. OMG! who could it be?
On Saturday, 1,117 inmates escaped during a riot in Kuafiya prison on the outskirts of Benghazi. Officials said on Sunday that about 100 prisoners had been recaptured.

Judge Rules Enough Evidence to Hold Kassim Alhimidi For Trial in Murder of Shaima Alawadi


EL CAJON, Calif. (AP) - A judge on Friday ordered an Iraqi immigrant to stand trial in California in the killing of his wife, whose fatal beating prompted international condemnation because it had appeared to be a hate crime.

San Diego County Superior Court Judge Lantz Lewis announced his decision after Kassim Alhimidi's lawyer urged the court to let his client go, saying there is no forensic evidence linking him to the death of his wife, 32-year-old Shaima Alawadi.

Attorney Richard Berkon Jr. noted no blood or glass was found on Alhimidi's body or clothing, or in his car. And he said his client does not speak English, raising doubts he was capable of staging the killing as a hate crime by planting the note found in the next room that read: "Go back to your country, you terrorist."

Alhimidi has pleaded not guilty to murder. He also has cooperated with police throughout the investigation, even voluntarily returning from Iraq after burying his wife in their homeland.

"It doesn't make sense, your honor," Berkon told Lewis. "The real killer is still out there."

The judge said the most persuasive evidence for him was street-camera footage that indicates Alhimidi might have driven a short distance from home that fateful March 21, 2012, morning and parked his car - contradicting his story to investigators that he had gone for a drive to relax at that time.

"It appears to be a lie," Lewis said in explaining his ruling.

Iconic Photo Nearly Excluded From 9/11 Memorial Museum - Too "Rah-Rah America"

The museum's director is so liberal and anti-American, he says the way America would look best is to not look American at all (emphasis mine):

This iconic picture of firefighters raising the stars and stripes in the rubble of Ground Zero was nearly excluded from the 9/11 Memorial Museum — because it was "rah-rah" American, a new book says.

Michael Shulan, the museum’s creative director, was among staffers who considered the Tom Franklin photograph too kitschy and "rah-rah America," according to "Battle for Ground Zero" (St. Martin’s Press) by Elizabeth Greenspan, out next month.

"I really believe that the way America will look best, the way we can really do best, is to not be Americans so vigilantly and so vehemently," Shulan said.

The photograph was eventually included, but only in a minimized capacity among other less iconic pictures.

What You Won't See In The Media: Israel Treating Syrian Wounded

From The Times Of Israel:

A three-year-old girl injured in the bloody Syrian war was transferred to Israel for treatment Saturday morning. Together with her mother, the toddler was evacuated to Ziv Medical Center in Safed, where she was treated for shrapnel wounds. She was admitted to the pediatric unit of the hospital and was in serious condition.

Earlier this week, four Syrians were brought to the same hospital in Safed for treatment for injuries sustained in the Syrian civil war.

One of the patients was a 15-year-old girl who lost her foot during the fighting, Israel Radio reported.

Approximately 100 Syrians have been brought to Israel for treatment over the last several months. [...]

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon in early June confirmed for the first time that Israel is operating a field hospital on the Syrian border. He said the IDF was transferring severely wounded Syrian nationals to Israeli hospitals for treatment. Initial reports of an IDF field hospital in the Golan Heights surfaced in February.

Video: Al Qaeda Threatens ex-Thai PM

Worst al Qaeda video ever? The first thing you'll notice right off the bat is that barely five seconds in someone can be clearly heard whispering right next to the camera. Then 42 seconds in some guy inserts his hand into view from off camera in what appears to be some kind of direction to those reading the prepared statement.

If that wasn't bad enough, then they get a guy up there to wag his fingers as someone else narrates in English. The effect, I think, is supposed to be of him reading the statement in Arabic while someone translates. But look closely at the guys lips. They don't move.

Is this amateur hour or what?

To be honest, I haven't seen a real al Qaeda video this bad since ...... never?

It wouldn't surprise me if these guys were a bunch of wannabes. Then again, since al Qaeda is a brand name with no trademark protection then any one can claim to be al Qaeda and, well, they kind of are. That's what the leaderless jihad called for by al Qaeda's leaders (oxymoron?) means.

The English language commentary included threats to kill Thaksin, "to avenge the killing of Muslims in the South in 2004". It referred to the killings at Tak Bai district town, while Thaksin was premier.

Report: Pakistan Wants to Trade Dr. Who Helped Get bin Laden for Women in Prison Connected to al Qaeda

So, Pakistan claims they oppose al Qaeda but then wants to trade the doctor who allegedly helped the CIA find bin Laden for a woman with known al Qaeda sympathies?

To be fair, people in Pakistan are stupid. They think Aafia Siddiqui is innocent. So, in their minds, they would be trading a "traitor" for an innocent woman.

But since you can't cure stupid, what're you going to do?

Pakistan is preparing a proposal to swap the doctor who helped the CIA pinpoint Usama bin Laden for a notorious female neuroscientist and suspected Al Qaeda operative being held at a federal prison in Texas, FoxNews.com has learned.

The exchange would involve Dr. Shakil Afridi, the pro-America doctor whose vaccination ruse helped establish the terror kingpin’s presence in an Abbottabad compound prior to the Navy SEAL raid that killed him, and Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. Siddiqui is a U.S.-trained neurosurgeon who left Massachusetts after 9/11 and resurfaced in Afghanistan where she was arrested for trying to kill U.S. soldiers.

Khalid Sheikh Muhammed told U.S. authorities Siddiqui was an Al Qaeda courier and operative.

Actually, the report goes on to suggest that any swap would be contingent upon Pakistan acknowledging that Siddiqui is a terrorist, and that Afridi is a "traitor".

In theory, this would be fine since Afridi would be freed upon his arrival in the US while Siddiqui would be sent to prison. I imagine Pakistani prisons are pretty bad.

However, I'd give it 50/50 odds that Siddiqui would be pardoned and never see the inside of a jail. Instead, she'd be a hero to millions of Pakistanis, write a book about US "torture", make the Western European leftist speech tour circuit, until one day being assassinated. Which, come to think of it, may not be the worst outcome in the world.

Robber Brings Baseball Bat to a Gun Fight

I know, the phrase world's dumbest criminal gets bandied about a lot. But, come on? This guy tries to rob a gun store with a .... baseball bat?

Surely, his level of stupid is off the Richtor scale:

Sheriff's deputies say Mosley walked into Discount Gun Sales on Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway around 4 p.m. Thursday with a bat in hand and smashed a display case.

But they say when Mosley tried to steal a gun, the store manager simply pulled out his own personal firearm and pointed it straight at the would-be-robber. The manager then yelled some orders at the guy and got him to drop the baseball bat, the gun he had tried to take and a nine-inch long knife he had on him.

Imagine that? A gun store owner has a gun.

Al Qaeda on Spree of Political Assassinations in Tunisia

Meanwhile in Tunisia, al Qaeda isn't so happy with the way things are going and have resorted to violence. Al Qaeda .... using violence? Who would've thunk it:

Mohammed Brahmi was shot 14 times in front of his home within sight of his family on Thursday, plunging the country into a political crisis and unleashing demonstrations around the country blaming the government for the assassination.

Interior Minister Loutfi Ben Jeddou told reporters that ballistics tests on the 9mm bullets used in the attack showed it came from the same weapon used to kill opposition leader Chokri Belaid in February. He alleged that the gunman is Boubakr Hakim, a 30-year-old weapons smuggler born in France, who, he said, was known for jihadi sympathies.

And remember, Tunisia is alleged to be a model of Arab Spring "success".

Authorities Perplexed as to Motivation of Sex Offender Breaking IN to Jail

This guy's motivation is completely mystifying. I mean, why would a guy who has been convicted of "sodomy" want to break in to jail?

I'm scratching my head here just as much as the authorities in this case:

The New York Post reports that 36-year-old Yonkers resident Matthew Matagrano pleaded guilty Thursday to posing as a correction officer and sneaking into the Manhattan Detention Center....

It's not clear why the former inmate, whose rap sheet includes a conviction for sodomy and sexual abuse, wanted to get back into jails.

The italics are mine, but I can't help but wonder if the guy at the AP wasn't giggling just a little as he wrote those lines.

A squawk of relief can be issued by a renegade kestrel after Turkish officials cleared it of spying for Israel.

The bird was discovered by residents of Altinavya, a village in Turkey’s Elazig province, wearing a metallic ring stamped with the words “24311 Tel Avivunia Israel.” Suspicious that the bird may have been on a spying mission for the Jewish state, villagers turned it over to local authorities, according to Hurriyet Daily News.

A US citizen told how he caught and ate an octopus on holiday - only to discover it was the second rare six-legged specimen ever found.

Mechanical engineer Labros Hydras, 49, pulled the creature - dubbed a ‘hexapus’ - from the sea as he went snorkelling in Greece.

He and his son followed local tradition by smashing it against a rock to kill it and then took it to a nearby taverna to cook.

When asked for comment he said, "It was pretty yummy. You should try it."

Conflicted: Taliban Attack Pakistani ISI

When they're all bad guys, who do you root for? The lesser of two evils.

Okay, but between Pakistan's ISI and the Taliban, does any one have a clear idea which is the lesser of the two evils?

Taliban militants claimed responsibility on Thursday for an attack on a regional office of Pakistan’s main spy agency that left at least nine people dead and again highlighted the militants’ ability to strike sensitive targets....

A suicide bomber blew up a vehicle outside the ISI compound, and was followed by three gunmen who attacked security forces and police officers inside. All three were killed in the course of a firefight that lasted roughly half an hour.

Five other people, including at least one civilian official with the intelligence agency, and three security force personnel also died in the attack.

The funny part here? Two factions of the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack. One of them in retaliation for a US drone strike.

Israel Retaliates Against EU Ban on Projects in "Settlements"

Payback, it's a bitch:

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon instructed the agency responsible for overseeing Israeli government activities in the West Bank to cease joint projects involving the Defense Ministry and the European Union, the online news agency Walla! reported.

The move comes one week after the European Union issued new directives banning the subsidizing of projects with Israeli entities that operate beyond the Green Line.

Israel’s response will affect future EU projects that are meant to improve the welfare of Palestinians in the territories. These ventures require the cooperation and approval of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, the Defense Ministry office that liaises with foreign diplomats.

When you start a war, and lose, you do not get to dictate to the victors the terms of peace.

You'd think the Euroweenies would have figured that out by now. If not, maybe they should look "Prussia" up on a map.

With all the movie theaters closed down for showing too much forearm and the bowling alley closed because .... Zionist-Crusaders! What's a jihadi dad to do?

Hold a family fun fair, natch:

An event organised by al-Qa’ida’s branch in Iraq and Syria produced the bizarre sight of an ice cream eating competition between two young boys, while the militant group’s black flags hung in the background.

The event was part of a family fun day of sorts put on by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) during Ramadan, videos of which were posted online over the weekend.

The day’s activities included a tug-of-war between ISIS and members of Jabhat al-Nusra, another Islamist rebel group based in Syria, and a Quran reciting competition for girls.

That's ..... surreal, no?

But, as I've argued many times in the past, this is what evil looks like. Evil people are only evil in one area of their lives, while the rest of what they do was described by Hannah Arendt as banal.

After a good day of killing infidels the normal jihadi really does come home and act like the rest of us. For instance, this video of British jihadi wives in Syria illustrates the point pretty well.

Anyway the good news here is that the video linked by the article above has been taken offline and the user's account suspended. Thank God for small miracles, I guess.

Prosecutors are expected to lay out their arguments Thursday at a preliminary hearing in El Cajon for Kassim Alhimidi, who is charged in his wife's death. The judge will decide whether Alhimidi will stand trial.

Obama Taints US Navy Sex Assault Cases

In response to a reporter's question, President Obama indicated that sex assault in the US military should result in a dishonorable discharge.

Two sexual assault courts-martial for Navy men at Pearl Harbor are now postponed because of a comment made by President Barack Obama.

The trial issues — related to a statement by Obama, the commander in chief, that sexual assault perpetrators should be dishonorably discharged — potentially amount to “unlawful command influence” and are part of a spate of military cases nationwide in which the defense is being raised.

The fear is that court-martial boards, aware of such statements from superiors, would be swayed to give the defendant less than a fair trial and that the public would view any convictions and discharges as the boards merely following orders.

I'd suggest the President just didn't think through his response and erred. It's inconceivable that he would screw up military prosecutions on purpose. Right?

US Passport Found at al Qaeda Base in Syria


The good news? The base that al Qaeda was using was abandoned after Kurds (have I mentioned how much I love the Kurds lately?) pushed them out of the town they were occupying.

The bad news? Among the many passports of foreigners found one of them belonged to an American from Pennsylvania.

The Long War Journal summarizes:

The American passport belongs to Amiir Farouk Ibrahim, who was born in Pennsylvania on Oct. 30, 1980. Ibrahim's passport was issued on March 6, 2012.

Ibrahim also possesses an Egyptian passport, which was issued on Sept. 23, 2012 under the name Amir Farouk Zaki Ibrahim. His Egyptian passport also states that he was born on Oct. 30, 1980 in the United States.

It looks like this guy was born in the US but is of Egyptian ancestry and had been living in Egypt recently. Unfortunately when news like this breaks it kind of clutters up Google searches, but if any of you have any other info on this guy I'd love you to send it to me.

Racist "Pro-Zimmerman" Protester Outed As Leftist Plant

She proudly admits to being a white racist and posed for pictures. The leftist media is still depicting her as being representative of all Zimmerman supporters.


But it turns out this lone racist is actually a leftist plant:

A photo from the Houston pro-Zimmerman counter-rally of the NBPP anti-Zimmerman rally picked up by the AP shows a woman holding a sign that read, "Racist & Proud."

That looked incongruent with the other reports from the pro-Zimmerman side. The Houston Chronicle identified her as Renee Vaughan. [...]

It looks like Renee Vaughan was definitely a racist leftist plant at the Houston rally.

This is how the left operates, folks. This time they got busted.

Don't expect corrections from the leftist media.

UPDATE: Breitbart is reporting this protester was actually at a "Justice for Trayvon" and Black Panther march. Brandon Darby writes:

I was present in Houston and personally saw the woman holding the sign. She was attending the event with a fellow anti-Zimmerman demonstrator who was wearing a hoodie. I interviewed her and took this footage...

It should be noted, her location apparently changed between the time the picture (above) was taken and the video at Breitbart was recorded. It is possible she attended both a pro-Martin and a competing pro-Zimmerman rally, as the two demonstrations were across the street from each other. Most likely, she was repudiated by the pro-Zimmerman crowd and returned to the other side.

Hammer Wielding Gang Attacking Innocent People In Harlem

Where is Jesse Jackson? Al Sharpton? Eric Holder? Barack Obama? Are the victims the wrong color to warrant their involvement? Or maybe the perpetrators are the wrong color?

Two men were attacked blocks apart in Harlem early yesterday by a hammer-wielding gang of thugs, police sources said.

The first victim of the seemingly random violence, Timmie Sampson, 31, was hit in the head with a hammer outside 1370 Fifth Ave., at East 115th Street, at about 12:45 a.m.

Sources said he was set upon by a gang of five or six black males wearing white T-shirts, and that at least one of the goons struck him over the head with a hammer.

This is the America race-baiters have created. Not a fair and just America, but one torn and divided by racist demagogues. A white (Hispanic) man defends himself against a violent black teen and it's a hate crime. But black gangs randomly attacking white people are just random crimes.

The fact is, according to FBI statistics, black on white murders happen more than twice as often as white on black murders. But there is no outrage, no nationwide protests, no accusations of hate crimes, no demands for the DOJ to investigate, and no self-serving comments from our white black President.

If we really want to get past racism in America, don't look at "hate" crimes and racial crime statistics. Racial statistics can be misleading and misused. "Hate" crimes will always exist as long as there is free thought in a free society. But, fortunately, they will always be a rarity within a civilized society.

The way to get past racism in America is to shun those who deliberately conjure the element of racism where there is none, those who manufacture race crimes out of self-defense, and those who spin real hate crimes into random violence. Once we refuse to use racism as an excuse for failures of our society, we can then truly begin to repair our country. And in the end, we might be very surprised at how little racism actually exists in America.

Awesome News: Mass Jailbreak in Iraq Includes "Senior al Qaeda"

Yes, by all means, continue to discuss the new royal baby. There's nothing else happening in the world worthy of news merit:

Hundreds of convicts, including senior members of al Qaeda, broke out of Iraq's Abu Ghraib jail as comrades launched a military-style assault to free them, authorities said on Monday.
If the reports are true, then it was a fairly sophisticated and coordinated attack:
Suicide bombers drove cars packed with explosives to the gates of the prison on the outskirts of Baghdad on Sunday night and blasted their way into the compound, while gunmen attacked guards with mortars and rocket-propelled grenades.

Other militants took up positions near the main road, fighting off security reinforcements sent from Baghdad as several militants wearing suicide vests entered the prison on foot to help free the inmates.

How many escaped? Close to 500. Many of them "senior members of al Qaeda" carrying death sentences.

Naturally it remains to be seen just who escaped and what is meant by "senior" here. Best case scenario: they make their way to Syria, kill a few of Assad's thugs, and then bite the bullet themselves.


But I think one question remains: did they coordinate the jail break to start on the news of that the Duchess of Cambridge had started labor?

George Zimmerman Pulls Family Of Four To Safety

UPDATE II: Breitbart is reporting the SUV had caught on fire. After helping save the family of four, Zimmerman retrieved a fire extinguisher he kept in his own vehicle and put the fire out:

On Wednesday, July 17 at about 5:45 PM Sanford Police responded to a single car accident in the area of I- 4 and State Road 46 in Sanford. A blue Ford Explorer SUV traveled off the road and rolled over. There were four occupants inside the vehicle, two parents and two children. An eyewitness to the accident told Breitbart News the SUV lost control in front of the witness's car. The SUV later caught fire.

The deputy reported, when he arrived on the scene that one of the two men helping the family was George Zimmerman. According to Sanford Police Zimmerman had a fire extinguisher with him. The eyewitness told Breitbart News he helped assist the family out of the vehicle and put out the fire with the extinguisher.

The racist bastard.

French Riots: Muslim Tries To Strangle Police Officer; Interior Minister Calls On Police To Respect Muslims


The latest round of riots. What instigated this Islamic violence? This (all emphasis mine):

A crowd of some 250 people collected outside the police station of the gritty Paris suburb of Trappes in response to the arrest of a Muslim man who police say assaulted them after they checked the identity of a woman wearing an Islamic veil.

"Her husband reacted in a hostile fashion, insulting and hitting the policemen. The man was placed in custody for that reason," Jean-Marc Galland, a senior official for Yvelines region, told Reuters. [...]

Prosecutor Vincent Lesclous later told reporters that the man had in-fact tried to strangle a police officer.

The crowd soon turned violent, setting fire to bins and hurling stones at the police and the police station. [...]

A witness said that the crowd was calling on the police to release the husband.

"They [the police] didn't want to listen and it got out of control. Trappes is a big family. When you attack us we’re going to respond," the man, who gave his name as Sofiane, told the French television channel iTele.

You see, it is the kuffar's fault for not listening. Had they listened and given in to the demands of the Muslim mobs, none of that would have happened. Had the officer just allowed himself to be strangled, it would have never escalated. It's always someone else's fault.

French dhimmis officials are now calling for respect where none is deserved.

The interior minister urged calm and dialogue, insisting on both the need for public order and respect for France's Muslims. The incident in the town of Trappes on Friday night reflected sporadic tensions between police upholding France’s strict policies of secularism and those who accuse authorities of discriminating against France's No. 2 religion.

Why anyone would choose to be a police officer under such conditions is beyond me. This French government would prefer a temporary peace over long term security. Islam in Europe is no longer a religion of the sword, but a religion of political subjugation.

In other European dhimmi news, 5 prison officers were suspended after Woolwich killer claimed they abused him. They were really mean to him and treated him like a criminal and stuff!

Iran: Sharia Law Would Have Convicted Zimmerman

Pot, kettle, black. Any system without due process would have convicted him.

Iranian officials said that Zimmerman's trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin should have been conducted in a more "accurate and fair" manner. [...]

Fars reported that the Iranian "public views the court ruling as a follow-up to similar incidents such as the suspicious murder of the grandson of former African American Muslim leader Malcolm X, which the U.S. judicial system failed to probe," according to the report.

Iran's calls for justice came as a surprise to U.S. observers, who pointed out that the Iranian regime is notorious for beating opposition members, arresting journalists, stoning women to death, and publicly executing homosexual teenagers.

By all means, if you think America's justice system is unfair and unjust, please move to a place with Sharia Law. I TRIPLE DOG DARE YA!

Illinois State Rep: The Chicago Police Are The Ones Killing Black Youth

Her proof? The killers are not being arrested.

Illinois State Representative Monique Davis is blaming the Chicago Police Department for the high number of killings in the Windy City. She is not just blaming the CPD for bad policing, though. She wonders if the police are doing some of the killing. [...]

"There’s some suspicion -- and I don't want to spread this, but I'm just going to tell you what I've been hearing -- they suspect maybe the police are killing some of these kids."

One reason "there's some suspicion," Davis said, is because there have been few arrests for the dozens of murders perpetrated on the streets of the city. Lack of arrests leads Davis to believe police are the actual killers because there are no perpetrators being fingered.

By default, if investigators can't identify a perpetrator, then it must be the police doing the killings. Yeah, that makes sense. To the voters of Chicago's South Side district, WTF is wrong with you?

BTW, if you don't want to spread a ridiculous, unsubstantiated rumor, then maybe you shouldn't, um, SPREAD IT!

[Transportation Security Administrator John] Pistole also for the first time detailed the sophisticated "Underwear Bomb II," which a double-agent stole from AQAP in 2012 after the group dispatched him as a suicide bomber aboard an aircraft. ABC News obtained a Department of Homeland Security illustration of the newer bomb. Pistole called the U.S. ally-led operation an "intelligence coup," because it enabled western counterterrorism services to thwart a serious threat from a bomb almost impossible to detect by magnetometers and advanced imaging machines at airports.

"It was a new type of explosive we had never seen," which used two redundant initiators filled with liquid explosives to detonate a larger liquid explosive charge in men's briefs, Pistole said....

"He encased this explosive in caulk -- kitchen caulk," he explained, to conceal the scent of he explosives and "evade bomb sniffing dogs."

The real news here is 1) the bomb may not be detectable in foreign airports and 2) our intel people think that Ibrahim al-Asiri may have taught multiple people how to make the bomb.

Indictment: Florida Man Tried to Join al Qaeda
UPDATED: Desecrated Christian Religious Statues

He tried to find his way to Yemen where he wanted to make participate in jihad. I don't understand why that's a crime. Doesn't jihad just mean peaceful inner struggle?

JACKSONVILLE, FL—Acting U.S. Attorney A. Lee Bentley, III, along with Acting Assistant Attorney General John Carlin of the Justice Department’s National Security Division and Michelle Klimt, Special Agent in Charge, FBI Jacksonville Division, today announced the return by a grand jury of an indictment charging Shelton Thomas Bell, 19, of Jacksonville, Florida, with conspiring and attempting to provide material support to terrorists. If convicted, Bell faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison on each of the two charges. Bell is currently detained in the Duval County Jail on unrelated charges.

According to the indictment, Bell devised a plan to travel to the Arabian Peninsula to join Ansar al Sharia (AAS), an alias for al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), and participate in violent armed conflict that he termed “jihad.” AAS has taken responsibility for multiple attacks on Yemeni forces, including a suicide bombing during a parade in May 2012 that killed more than 100 Yemeni soldiers and a series of armed assaults in March 2012 that killed more than 100 people, including Yemeni soldiers.

The indictment alleges that between May 2012 and September 2012, Bell and others engaged in physical, firearms, and other training in preparation for armed conflict in the Middle East, which Bell described as “the actions of jihad.” Bell allegedly solicited other individuals, including juveniles, to travel overseas with him in furtherance of this conspiracy. Bell made video and audio recordings intended to be distributed to others once he arrived in the Middle East, for the purpose of soliciting and recruiting others there to participate in violent jihad. In September 2012, Bell and a juvenile traveled to Amman, Jordan, and made contact with an individual who could facilitate their travel to Yemen to participate in violent jihad.

The investigative project has a copy of the indictment here. I'm just reading it now, but it looks like at some point he fled arrest and crashed a car in the process.

You'll also notice that he's being charged as part of a conspiracy, and that many of the people he recruited were juveniles. Which means we can expect more indictments to be unsealed the day they turn 18.

UPDATE: Add desecrating a cemetery to the list of his crimes. You gotta wonder if Eric Holder is going to charge him with a hate crime? From the indictment:

On or about July 4, 2012 [Bell] and and another individual .... caused significant damage to religious statues at the Chapel Hills Memorial Cemetery.
The indictment also indicates he used fraud to fund his would-be jihadi escapades. He apparently told some unnamed victim that he was starting a used computer business, when really the money was for airline tickets to .... Israel.

Why any would-be jihadi would think it was a good idea to travel to their final destination via Israel escapes me. Perhaps this guy is one of those low information voters I keep hearing about?

Because when he and his unnamed juvenile friend arrived at the Tel Aviv airport the Israelis promptly denied them entry and sent them packing to Poland -- which was their previous layover point.

It's only at this time that the duo decided Jordan would be more accepting of would-be jihadis, so they fly to Amman instead. And they were right:

Between October ... and September [2012], in Amman, Jordan Bell and [his juvenile accomplice] approached an individual ... known as Shiek Yussef about going to Yemen and making contact with [AQAP].
They then purchased tickets to Oman, from which they would proceed to Yemen. Other than noting a lot of videos by Anwar al-Awlaki to help inspire each other, the indictment kind of ends the story there. So, it's not clear whether they ever got to Oman or not.

I also don't see anything in the indictment about other charges including a vehicle which I had seen in an MSM report, but I'm guessing those are state charges so naturally they wouldn't be in a federal indictment.

The story is still kind of new, so if any one sees any more details do me a favor and drop me a line.

UK Finally Adds al-Nusra Front to List of Terror Groups

I've never quite understood the process by which European countries decide which terror groups are "terrorists" and which aren't. I mean, al-Nusra has been claiming affiliation with al Qaeda for, what, over a year now? And it took the Brits this long to decide they were terrorists?

Well, better late then never I guess:

he British government says that it has banned Syria's Al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, a move which makes membership in the extremist rebel group a criminal offense.

Britain's Home Office says the Nusra Front, also known as Jabhat al-Nusra, had been added to its list of outlawed organizations, a U.K.-wide roster of foreign and domestic terror groups.

Now if we could only get France to follow suit then we'd be making progress .... absolutely no better off than before. Come on, you really think it makes an ounce of difference who France thinks is a terrorist?

Why I Love the Kurds (part of an ongoing series)

Normally when I say, Let's give these guys a state, it's understood that I'm being sarcastic.

But not this time: Let's give these guys a state:

"At least 19 Al-Nusra Front (jihadist) fighters and 10 Kurds have been killed since the day before yesterday in clashes in the oil region of Hassakeh," the NGO said.

On Wednesday, the group said Syrian Kurdish fighters had pushed members of Al-Nusra and the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant out of the town of Ras Al-Ain and its nearby border crossing with Turkey....

Kurdish fighters, meanwhile, advanced elsewhere in the northeastern province, taking control of part of the Sweidiya area of Hassakeh, which is the only majority Kurdish province in Syria.

Of all the peoples in the world without a state, surely the Kurds deserve one. Unlike some "nations" (I'm looking at you Palestinians) Kurds are distinct from Arabs, Persians, and Turks and speak their own language with distinct customs.

And most important: they hate Islamists and love America.

Now that we're out of Iraq and have no vested interest in seeing that country remain whole, can someone tell me a single compelling reason why we don't support Kurdish statehood?

They pretty much run a defacto state as it is inside of Iraq, and it would be a thumb in the eye of Iran, Syria, and Turkey -- all of which could use a little bit of humiliation at this point in history.

Alice Walker Blames Travon Martin's Death on Sleestaks


On her personal blog, Walker explains that The Guardian edited out some of her wording which originally included the line [emphasis added], “Contemplating Zimmerman’s exoneration for the obvious murder of Trayvon Martin.” On her own website, she writes that “criminals…daily get away with murder.”

Walker writes on her blog that The Guardian editor “informed me they cannot publish the word ‘murder’ only ‘killing’ or ‘shooting death.’ Thus protecting murderers — those terrorizing us all over the world – from even being adequately described.”

Well that part is kind of disturbing. Lets say you have to report on say, the brutal beheading of Tom Fox or some other victim of terrorists, you cannot describe it as Murder? You can't describe the Boston or 7/7 bombings as murder. Only as killing of Kuffar then?

But I digress, in describing Zimmerman she also posits that he's probably a Sleestack.

Walker posits that “if we are dealing with descendants of the Chitauri (See Credo Mutwa’s informative teaching on the subject of cold blooded reptilian ancestry of some humans) then we can expect more of what we are experiencing.”

Sleestaks jumping up and down yelling "Kill! Kill! Kill!"

To arrive at the suggestion that Zimmerman could potentially be grouped with the “cold blooded reptilian ancestry of some humans,” Walker points to Credo Mutwa, a South African shaman who claimed to be abducted by “reptile-like” alien creatures when he was looking for herbs in Zimbabwe.

Just exactly what herbs was this shaman dude looking for?

Oral Arguments Tomorrow in Samir Khan Case

The family of a member of al Qaeda and self-described "traitor" is suing the the US saying his "constitutional rights were violated." The DOJ has filed a motion to dismiss the case, and oral arguemnts are tomorrow.

A good preview of the arguments and background info on the case can be found at the Lawfare Blog.

As much as the ACLU likes to describe the case in the vaguest of generalities and in the grandest and most outlandish slippery slope fashion, we need to remember that this case involves specific people in a specific context.

One can describe this as "the targeted killing of American civilians without judicial review" and be completely accurate, but also completely misleading.

The specific people involved were the head of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's (AQAP) external operations arm, Anwar al-Awlaki, one of Awlaki's sons, and Samir Khan, the head of AQAP's propaganda arm -- a self-described "traitor" (see above and recall that Khan himself edited the magazine the image is from) and a guy who personally called for my death and the death of my wife and children.

So, excuse me if I take this personally but .... it's as personal as it gets!

The context in which the al-Awlakis and Khan were killed matters, too. They weren't at home in suburban Charlotte (where Khan was from) sipping beers and minding their own business when they were killed. They were in Yemen as leaders al Qaeda.

Did I mention they were leaders in .... al Qaeda?

You can't just stop by the Awlaki residence in Yemen and then bring them to federal court. You can't ask the Yemeni authorities to first catch them and then extradite them to the US. There's no functioning government in Yemen and what passes for "government" in that country doesn't control most of it's own territory.

You can't "indict" leaders of al Qaeda living in lawless countries and expect any kind of results.

You have to kill them. There's just no other alternative.

If the ACLU has a better idea how to handle it, I'd like to hear it. Because so far all I've heard is a bunch of bellyaching about the way we treat terrorists without any real advice as to how we could do it better.

Zimmerman, a white Hispanic man, was found not guilty of murder and manslaughter on Saturday after a racially charged trial that has triggered demonstrations across the country.
This reminds me of a scene from King of the Hill that I always thought was funny. I tried to find a video clip, but couldn't.

Gang Rapist in Australia Pleads the "She Wasn't Wearing a Headscarf" Defense

Remember that movie where Jodie Foster was like totally asking for it when she wasn't wearing a headscarf? You know the one, she was all like slutty and stuff. Just flaunting it. What did she expect for not wearing a headscarf? You knew she wanted it.

You know the movie. It was called Contact.

I just want to clarify something here. He's making a "cultural defense" argument. He's not trying to get out of going to jail, just trying to have his "culture" used as mitigation in sentencing.

Le't forego the argument about the merits of such a defense.

What does his defense say about Pakistani culture? And what does it say about his understanding of rape being bad as not empirically bad, but only bad because it goes against Australian culture?

I think that he's making a clear argument for the former if the record of the trial is to be believed: In Pakistan we were never taught that rape was bad. Chicks who drank and who didn't cover their heads were either asking for it -- which makes it not rape at all -- or got what they deserved (rape as a form of punishment).

But what about that second question? Does he now believe that the Pakistani norm of rape is bad because he believes rape is bad? Or does he believe he must act as if rape is bad simply because he's now in Australia?

You know: when in Rome.

I'm not sure the transcript clarifies which it is. But either way, I think it's yet another indication of what we've always know about Paksitan: it is a stinking sh*thole that the world would be better off without.

Mujahideen Shura Council in the Environs of Jerusalem (MSC) Sends Condolences to AQAP on Death of Saeed al-Shihri

Their motto is something like, We fight the Jews for the return of Islam's rule, not only in Palestine, but throughout the world

The Mujahideen Shura Council in the Environs of Jerusalem (MSC), a Gaza-based Salafi jihadist group, released a statement of condolence on July 17 to al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) for the death of its deputy leader, Said al Shihri (a.k.a. Abu Sufyan al-Azd).

AQAP announced the death of al Shihri in a video that was released on July 16.

The new statement from the MSC, which was obtained and translated by the SITE Intelligence Group, praised al Shihri for "[speaking] out the truth" and denounced the US strike that killed him. The statement further called on Allah to "preserve" AQAP emir Nasir al Wuhayshi.

The statement concluded by saying, "Our solace is that the tree of Tawhid [monotheism] and jihad is only irrigated by the blood of the best of the sheikhs and the heroes."

Yesterday's statement is not the first time the MSC has issued a statement of condolence for the death of an al Qaeda leader. Following the death of Abu Yahya al Libi, the group released a eulogy to jihadist forums.

So much for that Islam is a religion of peace not bent on wold domination therory.

Anyway Speaking of Abu Yahya al Libi. You might have thought that the US Dept of State would have had a clue about what might have happen in Benghazi.

Not Another Trayvon

If the current pro-Trayvon protesters, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Barack Obama, et al, really wanted unity, peace, and justice, they would not have picked a case of clear self defense. Their poster child would not be a young thug whose pleasure in life was beating people.

It's not like they were limited. Countless other black youths have been shot down since that rainy night George Zimmerman was forced to defend himself. Most by other blacks. Despite what the media would have you believe, white on black killings are rare. More rare, for example, than black on white killings.

Most murderers actually kill within their own racial group. More than 92% of murdered blacks were killed by other blacks, while 83% of white victims were killed by whites. But those statistics don't stop some from exploiting that less than 8%, while ignoring the rest.

Solely for political purposes, race-baiters like Jackson and Sharpton use these statistically rare instances. But I have to wonder, even within that small statistical window, why "social justice" groups still tend to cling to questionable cases - or even a case of clear self dense as we saw in the George Zimmerman incident - when there are other, more concerning acts of violence that would not only support their agenda, but also be more inclusionary.

I would certainly support their cause if they were marching for someone like Darius Simmons:


While some are comparing the Simmons murder to the killing of Trayvon Martin, there is nothing similar other than the race of the victim and the perpetrator.

John Henry Spooner used a gun to confront Daruis Simmons about a recent home break-in. Without any justification, he shoots Simmons dead. Turns out, in addition to the shooting being completely unjustified, Simmons had nothing to do with the break-in. Spooner, for whatever reason - mis-identification, racial bias, mental illness, decided Simmons was involved and that led to the confrontation:

Spooner's surveillance video provides a clear view of what happened. Spooner emerges from his house and confronts the teen, who is retrieving his family's garbage cart from the street. Spooner points a gun at Darius, who quickly moves back a few steps.

Spooner then exchanges words with Darius' mother, who's standing on her porch out of view of the camera, and Spooner briefly points the gun in her direction. Moments later, Spooner points the gun back at the boy standing a couple of feet in front of him. He fires, hitting Darius in the chest.

The teen stumbles and runs away, and Spooner fires a second shot that misses. He appears to attempt a third shot but the gun jams.

Darius' mother, Patricia Larry, testified that she chased her son to where he collapsed in the street, cradling him in her arms as he died.

Just as I am at a loss as to how anyone could find George Zimmerman of guilty of anything more than self defense, I don't see how anyone could find John Spooner guilty of anything less than first degree murder. And to me, this would be a much more uniting case to spotlight unjust killings of young black males.

But the fact social engineers like Crump, Jackson and Sharpton focus on a rare, justified killing only suggests their real agenda is not unity but rather one of divisiveness. If they truly cared about the lives of the young men in their communities, the 92% would mean as much as that 8%. The color of the perpetrator's skin would not matter.

Zimmerman was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team at Fort Campbell in Kentucky.

DC Intern Asks Relevant Question; Gets Mocked By Carney And Media

A 16 year old Daily Caller intern, Gabe Finger, attended a White House press meeting and asked a very relevant question: "Because of the death threats being received by George Zimmerman and his parents, is the president going to take action for their security or are they on their own?"

Jay Carney answered with the usual evasive, ambiguous response, saying he was unaware of any death threats against Zimmerman, but President Obama opposes violence and echos the statements of Trayvon Martin's family for calm reflection in the wake of the verdict.

Gabe tried to clarify the White House's stance by asking, "So they are on their own?" To which Carney replied the question was ridiculous. Maybe not so ridiculous, considering it was, in part, President Obama's involvement that further incited the lynch mob against George Zimmerman.

But even more ridiculous was the Washington D. C. media ridiculing the 16 year old intern. Not the relevance of the question he asked, but only his age:

The impropriety displayed on Wednesday by a high school-age intern who dared to ask White House Press Secretary Jay Carney a question relating to the security provided to the family of George Zimmerman knows no bounds. That is apparently the opinion of a number of members of the political press. After an intern had the temerity to ask Carney a question, the political media flew into a tizzy over the presumptuousness of the intern and turned to mocking him and the venue which credentialed him to be in the Briefing Room in the first place.

The temerity of this teen asking a tough question instead of lobbing softballs at Carney...

City Terrace resident Cuauhtemoc Negrete said he was told: "You better blend in or you’re going to get hurt." The group eventually approached him, someone punched him in the head and another person stole his bicycle. …

Negrete pulled out a wrench, which comes in handy for the bicycle he uses to get around town, he said.

"I was there for the 6 p.m. March. We were going up and down the streets and all of a sudden all these kids just started trashing things, going up to people," he said.

Now they were going after him. Negrete said he dropped the wrench when it didn’t scare off the aggressors. He also dropped his bicycle and canteen at his feet and lifted his shirt.

Negrete said he didn’t see who hit him. He was punched once in the back of the head. Another person grabbed his bike and rode off, but that was it.

"It just made me feel so small," he said.

Shortly after the attack, Negrete broke down in tears and expressed his frustration over the violence.

"Why does it always have to go down this road?" he told The Times on Monday night.

He said he felt he was targeted because he was Latino. Others in the crowd said they saw similar incidents.

But don't dare suggest any of them are racists!

AQAP #2 Droned


SANAA, Yemen (AP) — The Yemen-based branch of al-Qaida confirmed on Wednesday that the group's No. 2 figure, a former Guantanamo Bay prisoner, was killed in a U.S. drone strike.


The announcement, posted on militant websites, gave no date for the death of Saudi-born Saeed al-Shihri.

The confirmation was significant, however, because al-Shihri had twice before been reported dead but the terror group later denied those reports.

His killing is considered a major blow to the Yemen-based al-Qaida branch, known as Al-Qaida in The Arabian Peninsula

He was also allegedly carrying $1,900.[20]
He claimed he wanted to give the money to the Red Crescent charity organization, but according to the US, he used the money to finance the travel for other fighters traveling from Bahrain to Afghanistan.

A western Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty to using the Internet to promote terrorist attacks against American military and civilian targets has been sentenced to 8 ½ years in federal prison.

Twenty-four-year-old Emerson Begolly of Redbank Township was sentenced Tuesday on one count of solicitation to commit a crime of violence. Authorities say he posted on an Islamic extremist Web forum he moderated.

His public defender asked for leniency in exchange for information Begolly has allegedly provided in other terror-related investigations.

An Algerian man jailed in Ireland and wanted by the United States on terrorism charges filed a damages suit against the Irish state on Tuesday, saying his prison conditions were "not even suitable for animals".

Ali Charaf Damache is wanted by the FBI for conspiracy in a foiled international plot to murder a Swedish cartoonist whose depiction of the Prophet Mohammad with the body of a dog caused outrage in Muslim countries.

"Cork Prison is not even suitable for animals," Damache, 47, told the High Court. "There was a television and radio (in my cell). When I practiced my prayer they (cellmates) deliberately put the volume up (and) they put pictures of naked women on the wall. I can't pray in a place where there are naked pictures..."

Oh the horror, if anyone has, you know, contact with some of Damache neighbors, ask them to put this one up for us.

Damache said he had been unable to wash before prayer and handling the Koran, as his faith requires, and was usually allowed to shower and change his underwear just once a week

Also I hear there is a rumor he's keeping hashish in his rectum. Better check that.

Panama stops N.Korean ship over missile material

PANAMA CITY (AFP) – Panama stopped a North Korean vessel that President Ricardo Martinelli said had sailed from Cuba and tried to illegally sneak suspected sophisticated missile material through the Panama Canal.

"The world needs to sit up and take note: you cannot go around shipping undeclared weapons of war through the Panama Canal," Martinelli said, noting that the ship had been inspected to rule out drugs and was found to have other cargo of greater concern.

"We had suspected this ship, which was coming from Cuba and headed to North Korea, might have drugs aboard so it was brought into port for search and inspection," on the Atlantic coast of the country, the president said on Radio Panama on Monday.

"When we started to unload the shipment of sugar we located containers that we believe to be sophisticated missile equipment, and that is not allowed," Martinelli stressed, describing a dramatic scene in which he said the ship's captain tried to kill himself.

"The captain has tried to commit suicide, and the crew also rioted," when police moved in, Martinelli said. "So we are holding this vessel for further investigation."

France Confirms al Qaeda Murder of Hostage in Mali

Good News: Jihadis Going to Burma


Or is that Myanmar? I never can remember what we're calling the place these days.

In any event, I've known this was coming for about six months now as jihadi propaganda has become less and less filled with diatribes against Israel and more and more with discussions of "genocide" being committed by "infidels" against Muslims in Burma. And now it looks like it's finally on:

A group of jihadists from Burma, Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Pakistan are reported to have formed a "brigade" to fight the Burmese government. A Burmese branch of the Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami that is based in Karachi, Pakistan and has been in operation since the late 1980s is likely involved in recruiting Pakistanis to fight in Burma....

The group claims it killed 17 Burmese soldiers in its first ambush of a military convoy, and "a few days ago they slaughtered three men including a Buddhist monk." The claims could not be confirmed.

Not that there's any loved loss for the Burmese military, but the last thing that country needs right now is a hot war against Islamist extremists just as it begins to emerge from decades of fascism.

Another of Anjem Choudary's Followers Sentenced For Support of al-Qaeda

A man with links to radical Muslim preacher Anjem Choudary has been jailed for two years for terrorism offences.

Royal Mail worker Mohammed Benares, 45, had terror guides showing how to make a bomb and detonator and how to handle an AK47 assault rifle.

Benares, of Saltley, Birmingham, downloaded the terror material from the internet and stored it on three external hard drives. He also had links with another radical preacher, Abu Izzadeen.

The documents included online al Qaida magazine Inspire and step-by-step instructions on how to make a bomb ‘In the kitchen of your mom’ using readily-available ingredients.

The court heard that Benares had attended a demonstration organised by the Muslims Against Crusades group( Benares at 0:17) in central London on September 11, 2011 to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

The Daily Mail states in the bullet points state he had over 50 copies of "AQAP's Inspire". There are only eleven issues of Inspire though. So he must have had copies of various other al-Qaeda publications such as Vanguards of Khorasan, Shahamat or Al-Samoud.

Abu Izzadeen a revert formerly known as Trevor Brooks was recently released after serving time for terrorist fund-raising and inciting terrorism.

Hezbollah in ... Mexico

An interesting report on the growing presence of Hezbollah in Mexico. Unfortunately, the report makes a lot of assertions without citing any sources. For instance, it asserts that Hezbollah already has dug tunnels into the US. Really? I'd love a citation on that. And Act of Valor doesn't count as a "source".

But still, if even half of it is true it's something to think about. For instance, the figure that there are hundreds of thousands of possible Hezbollah sympathizers in Mexico, most of them there as illegal aliens:

They are learning Mexican culture, as well as Spanish, and are starting to blend in with native-born Mexicans.
I think we might need to spend some serious reflection on this before we give blanket amnesty to 11 million people, most of whom come from Mexico.

Good News: 22 Terrorists on Loose After Mass Jail Break in Indonesia

Over 200 have escaped, but with only 60 or so have been captured. Of the 200, about 22 or so were convicted terrorists:

The most significant of the escapees was Fadli Sadama, a three-time terror convict who a decade ago had links to highly placed operatives in Jemaah Islamiyah, al Qaeda's main franchise in Southeast Asia, at the height of the organization's power and influence. Jemaah Islamiyah was behind the 2002 Bali bombings, the most deadly terrorist attack in Indonesia's history.

Mr. Fadli, who was serving an 11-year sentence in Medan for smuggling arms for terrorists in Indonesia, was known as a recruiter while in jail, experts said. He is also believed to have been a leader of a foiled plan to attack the Tanjung Gusta prison in 2010 to free other militants, said Muh Taufiqurrohman, an expert on terrorism issues at the Jakarta-based Abdurrahman Wahid Center.

Many of the escapees also have links to Jemaah Ansharut Tauhid, a Islamic militant group in Indonesia that was started by former members of Jemaah Islamiyah and provided much of the funding for the Aceh camp, experts said.

Let's hope these guys are recaptured soon.

British Prime Minister David Cameron joined thousands of mourners Friday at the funeral of a British soldier killed in broad daylight by Islamic extremists.


The soldier’s widow, Rebecca, walked into the church with the couple’s 2-year-old son Jack, who wore a T-shirt bearing the words “My Daddy My Hero.” Rigby’s parents and sisters were in tears.

Bombing Outside Mosque in the UK After Rigby Funeral

What the hell?

They have said the explosion came from car park at Kanz-ul-Iman Central Jamia Mosque in Binfield Street.

Unconfirmed reports have said it was caused by 'a nail bomb'. West Midlands Police said it was now being treated as a 'terrorist incident.' ...

The incident came on the day murdered soldier Lee Rigby was remembered at a private funeral service in Bury, Greater Manchester.

And it's not the first:
The incident comes just weeks after an explosive device was found outside another mosque in nearby Walsall, just eight miles away.
I know the first reaction of some will be that this is a fake hate crime done by some nutty Muslim trying to play the victim card.

Maybe, but it seems less likely than the other alternative: there are plenty nutjobs out there who aren't Muslim.

As rare as non-Muslim on Muslim terrorism is, it does exist. Case in point.

If you are on the right and you believe in collective guilt, then I have news for you: you are not on the right.

If you believe that Muslims in general ought to be punished for the deeds of a specific Muslim then you and I are not on the same page.

This same mentality is why George Zimmerman is being prosecuted.

It's the same mentality which leads to terrorism. You hurt random people who represent a group in order to send a message of fear to that entire group.

And it's what made the KKK not just a group of thugs, but terrorists.

So, yeah, there are people who really do hate Muslims and it is conceivable that some subset of this group really are either crazy enough or ideologically motivated enough or some mixture of the two that they would resort to acts of terror.

The only individual who actually fits that characterization in the West, though (that I can think of offhand), is Anders Breivik. And for him it was an ideology mixed with a good dose of the crazy.

And, oddly enough, Breivik's anti-Muslim paranoia led not to killing Muslims, but to killing a bunch of Norwegian kids.

Which isn't odd at all, when you come to think of it. The vast majority of terrorism in the world is committed by Muslims. This is true. But it is also true that the vast majority of the victims of Muslim terrorism are ... other Muslims. The "traitors" and "apostates" as the Salaafis like to call their Muslim victims.

Breivik viewed the powers that be in Norway and the Labour Party similarly as traitors.

The point being that while it is possible that this mosque attack is a hoax -- we've seen plenty of phony hate crimes against Muslims since 9/11 -- we need to remember the moral of the story in The Boy Who Cried Wolf: sometimes, there really is a wolf.

Arab Spring! Unnamed Sunni Terrorists Attack Egyptian Police Checkpoint

Egyptian security officials say suspected Islamic militants have attacked a police checkpoint in the Sinai Peninsula and killed an officer.

The officials say the attack happened early on Friday south the city of el-Arish when militants fired an RPG at an armored car at the checkpoint, killing 40-year-old Lt. Col. Ahmed Mahmoud.

Al Qaeda Kills FSA Commander in Syria

The FSA was meeting with al Qaeda to plan coordinated attacks with them? And yet we're told that we can give weapons to the "good" rebels and keep them out of the hands of the "bad" rebels?

Kamal Hamami, a member of the Free Syrian Army's Supreme Military Council, known by his nom de guerre Abu Bassel al-Ladkani, was meeting with members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant in the port city of Latakia when they killed him, Qassem Saadeddine, a Free Syrian Army spokesman, told Reuters.

"The Islamic State phoned me saying that they killed Abu Bassel and that they will kill all of the Supreme Military Council," Saadeddine said from Syria.

"He met them to discuss battle plans," Saadeddine added.

Three groups now vying for power, each of them fighting each other.

Maybe the best we can hope for in Syria is a Mexican standoff.

Post US Iraq: Not a Whole Lotta Change

The bad news? People in Iraq continue killing each other:

Militants killed 25 Iraqi security forces in a wave of attacks on Thursday, and 15 other people died in other attacks including 10 mourners in twin bombings, officials said.

The latest attacks come as Iraq witnesses a surge in violence that has killed more than 2,500 people already this year, including over 240 so far this month.

Analysts point to widespread discontent among Iraq's minority Sunni community, and the failure of the Shia authorities to address their grievances, as the main factors driving the increase in violence.

The good news? Not a single US soldier was killed in the violence.

When I say Iraq was a success, I don't mean to convey the notion that by "success" I mean we turned it into post-war Germany or Japan. No, by success I mean that we successfully defeated one of the world's largest standing armies in a matter of weeks, successfully set up a central government, successfully defeated an insurgency which threatened that government, and then successfully left that government able and willing to fight future threats themselves.

I think anything more than that was just wishful thinking. So, yes, Iraq was a success. And it's not nearly in Iran's pocket as a lot of people are being led to believe.

It's ironic how this has all turned out, isn't it? That the "bad" "unwinnable" war in Iraq turned out so well, while the "good" and "winnable (?)" war in Afghanistan is probably going to end up .... well ... not so great.

So, what is the best case scenario for a post-ISAF Afghanistan? That's a real question.

Florida's Kangaroo Court Further Tightens Noose Around George Zimmerman's Neck


In a last minute move, the Prosecution added manslaughter to the charges against George Zimmerman. They have also requested an additional third degree murder charge, which is basically an unintended murder while committing a felony. The felony? Aggravated child abuse.

It seems that if a 17 year old, 6 foot, 175lb child is beating your head on concrete, its child abuse to save your own life.

In a surprise move this morning, the prosecution asked the Judge to drop the Aggravated Assault charge and to instruct the jury on Third Degree Murder, which is murder in the course of committing a felony.

The felony the State wanted as the predicate was Aggravated Child Abuse (Jury Instruction) because Trayvon Martin was 17 at the time of the shooting.

According to Don West, the defense was not notified until 7:30 a.m. this morning.

This surprise is important because the defense did not have time to research the law, while the State presented numerous cases. Generally it is not a defense to child abuse that the perpetrator did not know the age of the victim. This is an unusual circumstance, however, where Zimmerman was punched in the nose and the "child" was on top punching him -- to say that excessive use of force in defense of an attack by a "child" is child abuse certainly requires some time to research and argue.

The most frightening aspect of this case, imho, is that, there but for the grace of God, go I. Any one of us can be next. The Judge, the Prosecution, the State, even as high as the office of the Presidency, is complicit in this horrible miscarriage of justice, this modern lynching.

UPDATE: The judge has denied the third degree murder charge, which included the felony child abuse. Finally some reason and fairness from this judge!

Revenge of Pat Quinn

This is what you get when you override Democrat Pat Quinn's veto of concealed carry.

Accelerating an increasingly bitter feud with the General Assembly, Gov. Pat Quinn suspended the pay of state lawmakers Wednesday, saying he believed the best way for legislators to reach a long-sought fix to Illinois' massive public worker pension debt was to "hit them in the wallet."

Quinn used his veto powers to zero-out the $13.8 million budget for legislative salaries and leadership stipends, effectively eliminating the state's ability to send lawmakers their Aug. 1 paychecks.

That's odd for year and years Pat Quinn has never insisted that Illionois, you know, pay its bills or pension obligations on time. He's kicked the can as far as anyone. But a day after the state legislature overrode his veto of concealed carry and dropped his "suggested changes" he cuts off their salary.

Well then that's fine I guess if he wants pension and budget reform that badly then he needs to put the executive branches money where its mouth is and suspend his and pay as well.

I won't hold my breath on that.

Insider Attack in Afghanistan Kills 1, Wounds 6

That would be in addition to the 17 women and children killed by the Taliban today. This is why I'm not that phased by word that we might bail out of Afghanistan early.

Early? We've been there for 12 years now. Twelve long years. If twelve years is early, then I'd like to see what a long time means to some of these people.

When we could have and should have applied the lessons of Iraq and quadrupled the number of troops, Obama punted and "settled" for a "surge" which wasn't anything like what was needed. Not. Even. Close.

So, here we are. Twelve years in, and without a stable government in Kabul able to stand on its own two feet.

It's long past time to bail. Let the Afghans work out their own troubles.

We kicked their asses the first time in a matter of weeks. Should they decide to roll over and let the Taliban take control once again, we could do it again in a matter of weeks yet again. And again. And again.

At some point it sinks in: we do not let the Taliban come to power.

Or, it doesn't. And then there's no one left alive in Afghanistan to complain.

Yes, that's where I'm at now.

It's not that I don't value Afghan lives. I do. The innocents affected by the evil doers around them. It breaks my heart.

It's just that I value American lives more.

Stupid Conspiracy Theorists Who Think Boston Bombing Was Elaborate Conspiracy Chant "Free Jahar"

Creepy, she kind of reminds me of another dimwitted revert I once knew.

A group of about a dozen supporters cheered as the motorcade carrying Tsarnaev arrived at the courthouse. The demonstrators yelled “Justice for Jahar,” as Tsarnaev is known. One woman held a sign that said, “Free Jahar.”

Others held signs claiming Tsarnaev’s innocence, while suggesting elaborate conspiracies surrounding the bombing and Tsarnaev’s arrest.

The MSM is trying to equate these people with the nutjobs who love convicted murderes like Charles Manson.

The fact is these nutjobs are a completely different animal than those who love mass murderers. No, these people think that Tsarnaev isn't a mass murderer.

How could he be? He's Muslim!

Everyone knows the CIA is out to make Muslims look bad.

Taliban Spokesman in Pakistan Replaced by Sockpuppet More Willing to Jerk Hakeemullah Mehsud Off

This is .... interesting:

he outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan has sacked its central spokesman, better known by the name of "Ehsanullah Ehsan", and appointed "Sheikh Maqbool" as his replacement....

According to the document, a copy of which is available with Dawn.com, the Taliban central council believes that the central spokesman had issued a statement which "may have caused rifts and misunderstandings between the TTP and the Afghan Taliban."

I'm not 100% sure what to make of this. Given that Ehsanullah Ehsan doesn't exist, maybe they just told the guy making the unpleasant remarks about the Aghan Taliban to cool it and assume a different name?

Then again, this is the Taliban we are speaking of. People notorious for labeling any all all disagreement as treason. So, maybe they offed the guy behind the Ehsunullah Ehsan sock-puppet and replaced him with a more acceptable propagandist? I hope this is the case, as we know what the Taliban does with "traitors".

Going to work for the Taliban is a bit like going to work for the mafia. Never go against The family.

Residents say the attack began just minutes after the Brotherhood’s supreme guide, Mohammed Badie, gave a fiery speech to Mursi supporters camped out in Cairo's Nasr City, which was broadcast live on television.

"The attack came minutes after Badie’s speech. They treated us like infidels. They were chanting 'Allahu akbar' (God is greatest) as they were shooting us," said Ahmed Fattouh.

More than 20 armored SWAT team members surrounded the house, as well as a number of detectives, and plainclothes officers. Assault rifles were aimed on all members of the team as they were handcuffed without being told why they were detained. Masked and armored police in full “Storm Trooper” gear flooded in and ransacked the residence. The team was cordoned in a front room, while Adam was pulled aside for questioning

First lets get this strait, Adam Kokesh is an Grade A#1 asshole deluxe(see here). BUT..... this is America, you have the unalienable right to be an asshole trwoofer dickface. Don't you?

Update: Kokesh has been charged with possession of mushrooms with an aggravating factor "while being in possession of a firearm".

The warrant was for the shotgun used in the video above, but he's not been charged as yet with any crime related to the making of the video.

An Armstrong County man who pleaded guilty to soliciting terrorist acts on a pro-jihad website and carrying a firearm during a scuffle with federal agents should be sentenced to the 15 years agreed to in his plea bargain, federal prosecutors said in partially redacted court documents filed Tuesday.

Emerson Begolly, 24, of Redbank faces a maximum sentence of 10 years on the terrorism charge and five years on the gun charge, which has to be consecutive to any other sentence, Assistant U.S. Attorney James Kitchen said in a sentencing memorandum.

Report: 26 People in bin Laden Compound
Bin Laden Wore "Cowboy Hat"

Al Jazeera has published a leaked report from the Pakistani "Abbottabad Commission" tasked with looking into how Osama bin Laden had been able to escape detection in Pakistan for so long and how the US was able to commit an "act of war" that "lasted three hours" without any Pakistani response.

The document is well over 300 pages, and I'm looking through it now. My initial observation about it is that most of the report deals with the US raid on the bin Laden compound and the Pakistani military's lack of response. This suggests Pakistan is more worried about an alleged violation of its sovereignty than how the world's most wanted man lived for six years just a few hundred yards from a major military academy.

I have read the scant parts recounted by the wives of the various players on the movements and day to day activities of the bin Ladens and al-Kuwaitis (the brothers guarding bin Laden). And, to be honest, there's just not much there.

According to the wives, the bin Ladens led a pretty austere and lonely existence. Osama's extended family, consisting of 16 people, lived in the main house and one side of the compound. The al-Kuwaiti's and their families -- 10 in all -- lived in another part of the compound.

According to one of the al Kuwait wives, the bin Ladens lived in total segregation and isolation. How isolated? She claims that that in all the time she lived there they had virtually no contact. The men would get together and talk often, but the women and children were completely separate and never spoke to one another.

That's the level of paranoia bin Laden and his family lived with. His children and wives never left the compound -- bad enough. But they were also not allowed to play with or even see the other children living in the compound.

Sucks to be them.

But apparently Osama's reclusiveness paid off, didn't it? To live six years in barbed wire topped compound with 26 people in it and not to set off a blips of curiosity on the radar screens of the authorities is a bit hard to swallow. Even for the commission, which suggests that local authorities were either complicit in hiding Osama or seriously negligent.

Which goes a long way in explaining why the commission's report was hidden from public view until it was leaked.

When a Pakistani commission suspects that at least some in Pakistan must have known where Osama bin Laden was hiding, then that does not bode well for your country. Not good PR, you see.

Like I said, I haven't read the entire report yet as much of it is devoted to the failure of Pakistan to respond to the US raid.

But, again, that doesn't bode well either, does it? When a country is more worried about its sovereignty being violated than the fact that it hid the world's most wanted terrorist for years and years, then we have a problem.

There's more in the report for those of you interested where Osama went after Tora Bora (first to South Waziristan, then to Bajaur, then to Swat, then finally to Obbattabad in 2005) and the people he hung out with. For instance, he met with Khalid Sheikh Mohammad only a month before KSH was captured, prompting him to move again.

The only other thing of interest I've read so far is that bin Laden wore a "cowboy hat" when outside so he couldn't be detected from above.

Bin Laden in a cowboy hat? John Wayne is rolling over in his grave right now.

51 (Maybe More) Killed in Egyptian Clashes

My gut tells me this gets much worse before it gets better:

At least 51 people were killed on Monday when the Egyptian army opened fire on supporters of ousted president Mohamed Mursi, in the deadliest incident since the elected Islamist leader was toppled by the military five days ago.

Protesters said shooting started as they performed morning prayers outside the Cairo barracks where Mursi is believed to be held.

But military spokesman Ahmed Ali said that at 4 a.m. (0200 GMT) armed men attacked troops in the area around the Republican Guard compound in the northeast of the city.

Let me also reiterate that my pointing out a problem in another country should not be read to mean that I believe that it's our problem.

Abu Qatada FINALLY Deported from UK

It's a small victory, but we takes what we can gets:

Radical cleric Abu Qatada is being held in a high security jail near the Jordanian capital Amman, after being deported from the UK....

Abu Qatada was first arrested in the UK over alleged terror connections in 2001 and has fought deportation since 2005....

Military prosecutors charged him with conspiracy to carry out terrorist acts - relating to a plot to bomb American and Israeli tourists during Jordan's millennium celebrations.

It took 8 years for Osama bin Laden's go-to man in the UK to finally be deported.

Eight. Freaking. Years.

Let's hope Jordanian prisons are as bad as my imagination envisions them.

Brazil Soccer Referee Stoned & Beheaded

And you thought American sports were tough!

Police say enraged spectators invaded a football field, stoned the referee to death and quartered his body after he stabbed a player to death.

The Public Safety Department of the state of Maranhao says in a statement that it all started when referee Otavio da Silva expelled player Josenir Abreu from a game last weekend. The two got into a fist fight, then Silva took out a knife and stabbed Abreu, who died on his way to the hospital.

The statement issued this week says Abreu's friends and relatives immediately "rushed into the field, stoned the referee to death and quartered his body."

Local news media say the spectators also decapitated Silva and stuck his head on a stake in the middle of the field.

Police have arrested one suspect.(Source)

Boeing 777 jet crashes in San Francisco during landing

Plane Crash

An Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 flying from Seoul crashed while landing at San Francisco International Airport Saturday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

FAA spokesman Lynn Lynsford said it was flight No. 214, and it was unclear how many people were on board.

Images from television station KTVU in San Francisco showed extensive fire damage to the airplane and black smoke coming from the wreckage, which had lost its tail and one of its wings in the crash.

Fire engines were on scene and the fire, which had burned through the cabin's roof, appeared to be out.

The tail of the plane came off while it was touching down on the runway, according to media reports.

UPDATE: Latest news is that more than 23 seriously injured, at least 2 dead, and as many as 60 unaccounted. There were over 300 passengers on board, so it could have been much, much worse.

Egypt Has Seen the Enemy, and The Enemy is Egypt

Let me just put this out there: Egypt's problem isn't the Muslim Brotherhood, it's Egypt.

As much as liberals in Egypt hope that their people want to be free, they are engaged in a form of self delusion about just who the Egyptian people are. The Egyptian people are not typically young, college educated, and from urban Cairo. The typical Egyptian is rural, poor, and semi-literate. Moreover, they go to mosques which teach them the supremacy of Islamic Law.

In other words, the Muslim Brotherhood is more likely to represent the typical Egyptian than are any of the secular liberal political parties.

The failings of the Mohammad Morsi and of the Muslim Brotherhood are the failings of Egypt generally. The corruption of the Brotherhood is a reflection of the corruption of the country generally. The intolerance of the Brotherhood for opposition points of view and of Christian minority rights are the same intolerances found generally in Egypt.

What's the point? The point being that no matter what government comes to power in Egypt there is nothing that can be done to fix Egypt. Not if by "fix" you mean what the liberal secularists in Egypt want.

Egypt was a mess under the old dictator, Egypt has been a mess under the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt will remain a mess under whoever comes next and whoever comes after that.

As for those who blame Obama for the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, I laugh at you. You really think it mattered one iota whether or not the US "supported" the Brotherhood any more than our "support" for the last dictator? The fact is we didn't "support" either of them, we tolerated them. If you don't know the difference, then consult a dictionary.

Sure, we send billions of dollars in aid to Egypt, but not because we support whatever regime is in power. We do so because the last worst President we had, Jimmy Carter, made a deal in which Egypt would regain millions of square miles of land it lost to Israel in exchange for a few thousand square feet in Cairo for an embassy, a billion dollars a year, and "peace" with the country that already kicked its ass half a dozen times.

We paid the bribe when Reagan was in power, under Bush, under Clinton, and under W.

The lesson here is not that Obama has "led from behind", it's that nothing we do matters. As Homer Simpson once wisely said, "You tried your best, and you failed miserably. The lesson is: never try."

When it comes to the Muslim Middle East, the best thing America can do is disengage. Stop sending them money, and start remembering the old adage: it's a problem, but it's not my problem.

The Egyptians blamed the US for their problems under their last dictator. They then blamed the US for their problems under the Muslim Brotherhood. I give it two weeks before they begin to blame the US, once again, for those same old problems which will face them under whoever it is rises out of the dust to assume power.

There is nothing that we can do which will make them like us, so why should we care?

Moreover, those who think that getting rid of the Muslim Brotherhood makes Israel safer just don't know their history. Every Egyptian attack on Israel since statehood has come under the leadership of the Egyptian military.

IMHO, it matters little to the security of Israel who is in power in Cairo. What keeps Israel safe is Israel's military might. If this generation of Egyptians has forgotten this, then perhaps it is time for Israel to teach Egypt another hard lesson?

While I do believe that Israel's security is generally in the best interests of the US, I also believe that our constant hand wringing about Israel is misguided. Israel has proven herself over and over again that she is capable of defending herself. What Israel needs more than anything else is moral support.

Arab and Muslim countries have many myths about the world, but one of the dumbest is the myth that if it wasn't for the US then Israel would be wiped off the map.

In fact, if it wasn't for the US's constant meddling then Israel's neighbors would have been wiped off the map. Recall that in the last major war between Egypt and Israel -- instigated by the former military regime in Cairo -- that it was the US that asked Israel to draw its troops back over to its side of the Suez. If not for the US meddling, Israel might well have wiped Egypt off the map.

That is a historical lesson that should not be forgotten.

So, what should we do about Egypt? Nothing. Not our country, not our problem, and Israel is perfectly capable (indeed, more capable) of dealing with the problem more effectively then we are.

In fact, given that the corollary to our military aid to Israel is aid to Egypt and to the other Arab countries that surround it, I can't help but think that whatever good we think we are doing is cancelled by the harm of arming Israel's enemies.

Anyway, I've been meaning to post something along these lines for the last few days. It pissed me off when I saw all those signs claiming the Brotherhood was "Obama's bitch" to no end. I hate Obama, but he's still my President which makes him my problem. No, the Brotherhood is Egypt's bitch and it's time for Egyptians to take ownership of their own failures and stop blaming every one but themselves.

Pro-Choicers Chant "Hail Satan"


This reminds me of something C.S. Lewis wrote in his final book from the Narnia series which I recently listened to on CD with my kids on the way back from California earlier this week.

In the book, the antagonists try to convince the beings of Narnia and their enemies from Kalormen that Narnnia's protector, Aslan, and Kalormen's god, Tash, is really one and the same thing -- Tashlan, they begin calling this new hybrid god. This despite the fact that Aslan gave his own life to save his people, while Tash requires the lives of his in the form of periodic human sacrifices.

But what this reminds me of from the book is that those making the argument that Aslan and Tash were really just different names for the same thing didn't believe in either of them. They were atheists, who were simply using a sophisticated argument about the unity of religious ideas in order to gain political power.

Are these people chanting "hail satan" really believers in Beelzebub? Of course not. They are trying to be ironical here.


In the book, the god Tash actually does appear and he begins to devour those who had invoked his name even though they did not believe in the being in who's name they were acting.

I very much doubt that this group of pro-choicers believes that unseen dark forces personified as the Prince of Darkness really exists any more than Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

But what if they're wrong?

Acting as if you worship Satan is not so far removed from actually worshiping him as you might think. Because in the end it is our actions that define us. If you act in an evil manner, they you have become the very thing which you deny exists: the personification of evil.

Egyptian Army Vows To Protect Islamists

Shortly after toppling the Muslim Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsi, the Egyptian Army vowed to protect Islamists (emphasis mine):

The Egyptian armed forces have issued a warning that they will not allow any assaults on Islamists following the fall of former President Mohamed Morsi.

"To Egypt's youth from all religious currents and orientations, no one in Egypt questions your patriotism and sincere dedication to this country," army spokesperson Ahmed Ali said on Thursday.

The statement went on to stress that no group would be excluded in Egypt.

No group except, of course, the Christian Copts, whom the Muslim Brotherhood is blaming for its downfall:

Among the episodes of violence in Egypt after the overthrow of President Morsi there is also the attack against the Coptic Catholic parish of St. George, in the village of Delgia, 60 kilometers from Minya. Since Wednesday evening, July 3 groups of fanatical Islamists first looted and then burned down the pastor’s house and church group buildings. "Thank God there were no victims and injuries" says to Fides Agency the Coptic Catholic Bishop of Minya Botros Fahim Awad Hanna "but the alarm continues. The fundamentalists have closed the roads at the entrance to the village. They shout slogans against Christians, they say they want to destroy everything and now they are trying again to storm the church. The local police are helpless, I called Cairo to ask for the intervention of the army."

There are only 800,000 Christian Copts in Egypt. Over 20 million Egyptians protested to out Morsi. So, it only makes sense for Islamists to blame the Copts. Right?

Egyptian President Vows To Fight Til Death

Let's hope so, but I doubt it. Islamists are big on rhetoric until it gets too hot, then they run away.

Egypt's army commander and Islamist President Mohamed Mursi each pledged to die for his cause as a deadline loomed on Wednesday that will trigger a military takeover backed by protesters.

Military chiefs, vowing to restore order in a country racked by demonstrations over Mursi's Islamist policies, issued a call to battle in a statement headlined "The Final Hours". They said they were willing to shed blood against "terrorists and fools" after Mursi refused to give up his elected office. (Source)

Director Of National Intelligence Forgot His Agency Was Collecting Data On Millions Of Americans

Apparently, being directly asked if the NSA was collecting data on millions of Americans wasn't enough to jog his memory.

The most senior US intelligence official told a Senate oversight panel that he "simply didn't think" of the National Security Agency's efforts to collect the phone records of millions of Americans when he testified in March that it did "not wittingly" snoop on their communications.

James Clapper, the director of national intelligence, made the comments in a letter to the Senate intelligence committee, released in full for the first time on Tuesday. [...]

Clapper is under intense pressure from legislators displeased by his March testimony to the Senate intelligence committee's Ron Wyden (Democrat, Oregon) that the NSA did "not wittingly" collect, as Wyden put it, "any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans."

James Clapper is the same intelligence director who "forgot" about massive arrests in a major terrorist plot just days before this interview with Diane Sawyer.

Isn't it funny how Obama's Intelligence community can't remember anything until it becomes widely and publicly disclosed? Makes you wonder what they do in their offices all day long.

Egypt: Its On Like Donkey Kong

20 Million people protesting? Why in America you couldn't get 20 million to protest the devil himself.

...the political wing of Egypt's ruling Muslim Brotherhood refused an invitation to meet the armed forces commander, military and party sources said.

"We do not go to invitations (meetings) with anyone. We have a president and that is it," said Waleed al-Haddad, a senior leader of the Freedom and Justice Party told Reuters.

In a statement that was headlined “The Final hours,” Egypt’s high command said on Wednesday that the army was ready to sacrifice blood to defend the Egyptian people against “terrorists or fools” as the death toll mounted in protester clashes.
The post on the official Facebook page of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), headed by armed forces chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, said: "We swear to God that we will sacrifice even our blood for Egypt and its people, to defend them against any terrorist, radical or fool."

So how do you know that the Arab spring has been a success? When, like America, most people just have too much to do to waste time protesting.

[29 year old Faical Errai] ran pro-jihad Internet forums for the Ansar Al Mujahideen cyber network linked to al-Qaida. The sites recruited fighters to go to Afghanistan, Chechnya and Somalia.

Video: Russian Proton Rocket Fail

We don't need a space shuttle, we can pay out the ass to ride a Russian rocket.



An unmanned Russian rocket veered off course and exploded in a fireball Tuesday, seconds after liftoff from a launch pad in Kazakhstan.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

The Proton-M rocket was carrying three satellites for Russia's Global Navigation Satellite System, or Glonass, reported the RIA Novosti news agency.

I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi.

Tor Executive Director Andrew Lewman : al-Qaeda's Use of Tor For Funding Terrorism and Spreading Bomb and Chemical Weapons Instructions Pretty Funny

When asked about al-Qaeda linked terrorists using Tor, Andrew Lewman responded with a few snarky jokes:

The network not only protects the identities of users who visit a website but also allows sites to be anonymously hosted on the Tor network itself. Jihadist groups have used that capability to raise money for their cause and offer instructions on building conventional weapons and weapons of mass destruction.

“Fund the Islamic struggle without leaving a trace,” one site hosted on the Tor network pleads. The site—which is accessible through a standard PC web browser—allows visitors to anonymously donate to a jihadist group that says it has members based in the United States and South America.

“We are currently working with recent reverts to Islam and generally training brothers to struggle to establish a new Islamic front both in the U.S. and around the world,” the site says.

It provides a unique Bitcoin key that visitors can use to anonymously donate to the group. Publicly accessible information shows that that Bitcoin account has been a party to four transactions, all in September of 2012.

“We have found that asking for money indicated for these activities attracts far too much surveillance and have decided that we would begin to gather resources through the Internet,” the site adds. Through Tor and Bitcoin, the site can do so anonymously.

Directed to that page, Andrew Lewman, executive director of the Tor Project, denied that it was evidence that terrorist groups use the network.

Some teenager creates a site, which is just one page of brochureware, and now they’re a terrorist. Ok then,” he said in an email to the Free Beacon.

“Maybe it’s run by terrorists who are hunting down IP addresses of press people,” Lewman suggested, noting that accessing the site through a standard web browser does not protect visitors’ identities. “Maybe it’s run by the mob. Maybe law enforcement,” he added.

Lewman insisted that there is “no hard evidence that terrorists use Tor.”

Yes teenagers using the internet for terrorism.... its all a big f*cking joke.

American Murdered By Egyptian Protesters Identified as Andrew Pochter

He was a young Jewish progressive, who believed in Arab democracy.

Counter Jihad Report:

Just two years later, the well-intentioned, if naïve Pochter’s tragic delusions about the ugly reality of the Orwellian-named Arab spring were shattered, instantaneously, by lethal violence. While photographing demonstrations in the Egyptian port city of Alexandria this past Friday (6/28/13), near an office of the jihadist Muslim Brotherhood, Pochter was stabbed, and suffered a fatal chest wound.

Veteran international journalist Jon Williams tweeted that, as per unnamed “intelligence sources,” Pochter’s assailant questioned the young man whether he were an American, before plunging a knife into the victim’s chest. If Williams’ account is confirmed, this would mark the second time in two months that an American was targeted for stabbing in Egypt.

His support was repaid by a knife to the chest, but just think what they would have done had they asked him if he were a Jew and he answered, "Yes."

George Zimmerman Reenactment (Updated & Bumped - Video & New Map Added)

This is a reenactment George Zimmerman voluntarily gave police the day after he shot Trayvon Martin in self-defense. Zimmerman's account has remained consistent since the incident happened and all evidence, so far presented, corroborates it. For those following the trial, this will help you understand how everything went down. It will also help fill in the minutes between calls to 911.

Alaa Youssef Who Fled to Egypt With Children Wanted in Murder of Muslima

Columbia Magazine:

A mowing crew came upon the body on the morning of May 29th. There was no identification located on or around the woman. It was determined that she suffered blunt force trauma to her head.

Roshdy was reported as a missing person on the evening of June 20th by a friend who learned that family members in Egypt were concerned for her welfare. The police department's Homicide/Cold Case Unit, which coordinates adult missing person investigations, spoke by telephone with family members in Egypt through an interpreter last week and entered Roshdy's information into a national law enforcement database. The Kentucky connection was then established.

Through the investigation thus far, which included the execution of a search warrant at the Millwood Drive apartment Roshdy shared with her husband and two young daughters (both under the age of 10), detectives believe it likely that Roshdy was killed in the apartment and, shortly thereafter, dumped on the side of the interstate in Kentucky. Roshdy last reported for work at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel on Old Hickory Boulevard at I-65 in South Nashville on May 25th. She was last seen by neighbors at Millwood Manor Apartments, 305 Millwood Drive, on May 26th. Her husband, Alaa Youssef, 39, who worked for Tyson Foods in Shelbyville, flew out of Nashville with the couple's two daughters on June 7th. They arrived in Cairo, Egypt, on June 8th.


Youssef, is considered to be a suspect in Roshdy's death and is wanted for questioning. The investigation, which is being led by Metro Nashville Detective Jill Weaver, is continuing. - From Nashville Metro Police

Its probably that Egypt will never return Alaa Youssef to the US to face charges, Yaser Abdel Said who murdered his two daughters is Egyptian and he has never been found, its highly likely he too fled to Egypt.

Canadian Terrorist Chiheb Esseghaier's Facebook Jihad

Even after Esseghaier's arrest on charges he wanted to blow up trains for Jihad, Facebook never took down his al-Qaeda supporting profile.

That is until Facebook got bad press from Walid Shoebat, now suddenly they decide maybe they'll take it down.

World Net Daily reported late last night the publication of al Qaeda terrorism plans on the Facebook page of Chiheb Esseghaier, the Tunisian man suspected of involvement in the thwarted attempt to derail a Canadian train. The picture above is a screen shot of that Facebook page taken by Walid Shoebat, a Palestinian former Muslim who is now a Christian. Esseghairer's Facebook page was removed shortly after Shoebat took the screen shot.


The World Net Daily story says, “At the top is a detailed flowchart on al-Qaida’s plans, command and control, and methodology – from leadership to cell creation,” Shoebat explained on his website. “His favorites include several links to some of the most notorious terror groups including a Facebook dedicated for the famed Abu Mus’ab Zarkawi. On that Facebook page, it gives a glimpse of the al-Qaida recruitment in the Levant (Syria).”

Hats off to Walid for taking down yet another Facebook terrorist.

A JFK Airport security supervisor has been fired for mistakenly sending out a mass e-mail blast — of his genitals — to nearly two dozen shocked underlings, supervisors and Port Authority executives.

But he somehow attached another snapshot stored on the cellphone — showing him inside a car, “waist down, naked penis out, belly and all,” according to one source.

Sounds like it was a success.

Syrian Rebels Behead Priest And Two Others

(A crowd eagerly awaits the beheading of three people.)

The same Syrian rebels Obama is supporting beheaded 3 people including a Catholic priest:

Syrian Catholic priest Francois Murad killed last weekend by jihadi fighters was beheaded, according to a report by Catholic Online which is linking to video purportedly showing the brutal murder. [...]

In video posted by Live Leak purporting to show the execution, dozens of men and boys are seen cheering on as three men are seated on the ground awaiting their grisly fate.

The men are methodically beheaded one at a time by men holding what appears to be a simple kitchen knife after which the heads are placed on top of the bodies.

According to Catholic Online, the first victim was Murad.

A frenzy ensues, with dozens drawing out their smartphones to capture the bloody scene, as a chorus of Allahu Akbar (“Allah is the greatest”) are sung with jihadi rapture. Several observers are seen moving within inches of the bodies in an effort to capture close-up photos.

These are the savages the Obama Administration is arming.
