Terrorism in Washington: Four Police Officers Murdered (UPDATED)
Scroll down for update...
Four police officers murdered for no apparent reason other than that they were cops? That makes these political assassinations, and that means terrorism.
What particular ideology motivated the murderer and his accomplice matters little at this point. But echos of John Allen Muhammed and Lee Malvo come immediately to mind.
Second guess? Christopher Monfort. If Monfort was a terrorist, this guy certainly qualifies as one.
The suspect is described as "black man, mid-20s to mid-30s, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10, medium build, scruffy and wearing a black jacket over a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans."
Earlier reports indicated that the man may have had an accomplice driving a car, but later reports say he fled on foot.
Add "bleeding" to the description. The latest reports are that one of the officers may have got a shot off before the suspect fled.
If there is an immediate cosmic justice, then he will bleed to death. I personally don't put too much faith in immediate cosmic justice. I have more faith in the police and a 10 mm Glock.
Go get 'em boys!
Our prayers go out to the families of the officers slain.

SEATTLE (AP) - A suspect in the slaying of four police officers gunned down in a suburban coffee shop was holed up at a Seattle house early Monday, wounded and possibly dead, police said.Negotiators were trying to communicate with Maurice Clemmons, 37, using loudspeakers and explosions to try to prod him from hiding. At one point, gunshots rang through the neighborhood, which is some 30 miles from the original crime scene.
"We don't know and that's why we need to go in and contact that individual," Kappel said.
Officers from around the region were hunting for Maurice Clemmons, 37, who was believed to near the Parkland coffee shop around the time of the shooting, said Ed Troyer, a spokesman for the Pierce County Sheriff. Troyer declined to say what evidence might Clemmons to the shooting.
Clemmons has an extensive violent criminal history from Arkansas, including aggravated robbery and theft, the sheriff's office said. He also recently was arrested and charged in Washington state for assaulting a police officer, and second-degree rape of a child. Using a bail bondsman, he posted $150,000 and was released from jail last week.
