The REAL American Taliban: Hey, Let's Kill Adam Lambert
What's a busy blogger to do on a slow news day? Turn to the old standby, Yousef al-Khattab (anonymized link).
Khattab juxtaposes an image of Adam Lambert in front of an American flag with an image of two homosexuals being hanged by the Iranian mullahs. The image is captioned, "Two very well hung Iranian gay men."
Funny. Really funny.
He then polls his readers with the question, "Adam Lambert performed deviant homosexual sexual behavior on American TV. How do you think society should reward him?"
AS of this writing 73% answered "I prefer the Sharia [ed: Islamic law] punishment of throwing them off the highest cliff."
Another 8% answered, "The Iranian example is lookin good poppy!"
The next time someone tries to compare fundamentalist Christians who disapprove of homesexuality and might not support, say, same-sex marriage with fundamentalists Muslims by calling them "The American Taliban" point out that while both positions may not be supportive of certain gay rights that there is a world of difference between trouble getting health insurance and throwing you off a cliff.
If you don't get that, then you are a moral idiot.
