I receive death threats on a daily basis. I'm a well-known writer in the Arab world. My writings expose me to millions of devout Muslims who have nothing positive to prove but the sheer cruelty of their teachings. Islam has deprived them of their intellectual ability to face criticism with an effective and acceptable way.I have a friend who thinks of herself as an ex-Mormon, and who constantly is complaining that the Mormons won't leave her alone. You know, terrible stuff like they knock on her door and sometimes call her home phone number. They even have the audacity to show concern for her salvation.
I have this other friend who converted to Judaism. He's constantly pissed off that fundamentalist Christians tell him that they're worried that he'll go to hell. The audacity of people worrying about his soul! He even says some relatives have shunned him.
The cold shoulder and concern for salvation? If only ex-Muslims were as lucky as ex-Mormons and ex-Christians!
