Bin Laden: The Comic Book (bin Laden desecrates Quran?)

Osama bin Laden as a comic book hero? Leave it to the French....

osamabinladencomic.jpg

To be honest, the book seems less like bin Laden as hero and more like bin Laden as comic heroic foil. In which case I'm all for it. I'd say more on it, but the article I was pointed to is in German, so I've no idea what it's really about.

But look closely at the cover. No, not at the burka babe's nipples -- moronic pervs.

Under bin Laden's foot. Is that a Quran he's desecrating?

Thanks to Larry.

UPDATE: Thanks to Guest in the comments, here's a Radio Netherlands story:

Bin Laden Naked is a comic book that illustrates the humorous contradictions of religious extremism. The graphic work provides insight into the religious extremism that is spreading in some Islamic countries, particularly after the rise of al-Qaeda and Bin Laden.
Three words I never want to hear used together again: Bin. Laden. Naked.

So, it is definitely anti-bin Laden and anti-radical Islam. But notice the Radio Netherlands wording in the intro paragraph that I reproduced above: religious extremism.

I wonder if Radio Netherlands would use the same terminology to describe the Dali Lama or other Buddhists with an extremist view on non-violence? I doubt it. Which is why the all-religions-are-the-same meme is so glaringly false.
