Things That Worry Me
First of all you have to read Fausta's post on the removal of former Honduran president/aspiring neo-commie dictator Mel Zelaya here.
This is in direct violation of the country’s Constitution, which forbids the President from calling for changes to the Constitution. Articles 373 and 374 of the Honduran Constitution specifically state that ammendments to the Constitution be approved by 2/3 of the votes in Congress AND specifically forbid any President of the country from extending term limits. The Constitution also says these two articles can not be amended ...OK, so to the what worries me part.....By April the country’s institutions had warned Zelaya that what he was attempting to do was not only unlawful but also would be considered a coup d’etat.
Just what does Mr. Obama have against term limits? I mean its obvious that Chaves has appointed himself President for life and Mel Zelaya was about to execute the same thing.
Does the president think that's a good thing? How would the President view extending his own term?
What would people say if George W Bush had began trying to extend his term seven months from the end of his last term, mmmm?
I think this is another time that Obama finds himself on the a side other than what America is supposed to stand for. You represent me Mr. Obama and no matter how much you love Hugo and neo-communism, you're hired to go out there and represent freedom. Not shill from some commie dictator wannabe.
You get 4 to 8 years like everyone else. Better get busy now, times a wastin.
Spit.
Update: Jawa reader Sally points out
The US constitution could be changed to allow unlimited terms for a President. 4 times this type of legislation was introduced while Bush was President.Indeed that's what worries me, any more attempts to do that should go just where the rest went, nowhere.
Update: At least I'm not the only one worried.
Obama has strange friends. He equivocates and equalizes in disturbing ways. Is he “objectively pro-fascist” as George Orwell memorably wrote in his famous essay “Pacifism and the War“?
