George Lucas Supports Higher Taxes for Rich. But not for him because George Lucas isn't rich!
If ruining my childhood by inventing Jar Jar Binks, raping Indiana Jones, and then threatening to sue me wasn't enough evidence to prove that George Lucas was evil, this certainly should:
George Lucas fully supports President Obama’s approach to the current economic problem. He feels that there should be caps on the salaries of bank executives who are accepting government bailout monies, and he feels that the rich should be taxed at higher rates than those with lesser incomes.”Okay, maybe this doesn't make Lucas evil, just naive.
But wait, it gets richer:
CNSNews.com: “How much money, you were saying you didn’t make?”Wow, there are lies and then there are absolute whoppers.George Lucas: “$500,000 a year – man, that’s a lot of money. You know? I have to make a nickel at a time. You know, I have to have people come to the movies, and then when they go to the movies, I get my nickel. I don’t get a giant salary.”
George Lucas doesn't get a "giant salary"? He's only made billions -- literally -- from ownership stakes in some of the most successful movies and special effects enterprises of all time.
He's right about not allowing those who received government bailouts to get large salaries. The problem though isn't with the salaries, it's with the bailout.
The hypocrisy in Hollywood goes deep. In Lucas it goes all the way to the core.
Thanks to Richard.
