Iran Offered to Halt Terror Attacks in Iraq ....

.... in return for the Brits looking the other way on the whole acquiring nukes thing. No shit?:

Britain has revealed that, when British troops were under heavy attack in southern Iraq in 2006-7, Iran offered to stop these attacks if Britain would stop trying to halt Iran's nuclear weapons program.
The report goes on to say that the Brits passed on the deal and then proceeded to kill enough of the Iranian terrorists in the region that it became one giant orgy of a skull-f*ck fest.

Thanks to Ace.

PS: At the height of the insurgency we would see, maybe, two or three new jihadi videos out of Iraq daily. Now it's down to more like two or three a week, and a lot of those are either recycled footage of old attacks or pretty much only show some guy firing a round at some far off point -- in other words, pretty low propaganda value.

But even so, the groups that we see still producing videos seem to be coming from those with Syrian connections, such as the Naqshbandi Sufi Army. What kind of game is Syria playing in Iraq and what kind of concessions could they possibly be after?

UPDATE: Egyptians point finger at Iranian ROPer in deadly blast targeting French school children. Color me, uh, skeptical.
