Senior Saudi Cleric Okays Pedophilia
Muhammad molested a nine year old, so why shouldn't Saudi men be able to have their way with 10 year olds?
A pan-Arab newspaper quotes Saudi Arabia's most senior Muslim cleric as saying it is OK for 10-year-old girls to marry.Just to be clear, what Sheik Abdul-Aziz bin Baz is saying is that its okay to have sex with your ten year old wife. Often Westerners and others are under the misimpression that Muslim child marriage is akin to arranged marriages in other countries -- like India -- where child marriage is often nothing more than a formal arranged betrothal.
Muhammad, the great exemplar, married Aisha when she was six. But he didn't begin molesting her until she was nine.
The good news in the story is that some Saudi Arabians are trying to ban the practice. The bad news is that it remains illegal to criticize Muhammad.
