Report:Four die in missiles strike in Pakistan's tribal region (Second strike since yesterday)
Islamabad, Jan 2 (PTI) At least four people, including three foreign militants, were killed when a suspected US drone aircraft fired two missiles on a school in Pakistan's troubled south Waziristan tribal region today, officials said.
The strike, second in two days, targeted a school building, part of which was being used as Taliban office, at Sultana village killing one civilian and three militants. Officials said the death toll could rise. They said that the school building had recently been taken over by Taliban militia men loyal to Baitullah Mehsud, who is the head of the Tehreek-e-Taliban.
Witnesses said tribesmen rushed to the site of the attack and pulled bodies out of the rubble. The school building was destroyed in the attack, they said.
Five militants were killed when a US drone yesterday fired three missiles at a vehicle near Wana, the main town of south Waziristan. Eight foreign militants were killed in a missile strike in the same area last month.
