Good News: Pakistanis Burn 100 NATO Supply Trucks
A picture worth 1k words.
A friend of mine -- who I don't know if he wants to be quoted so I won't attribute this -- says Peshewar is about to fall to the Taliban. While the Pakistanis claim they opened fire on the estimated 200 Taliban fighters, it's hard to say for sure what happened. As far as we know they fled at the first sign of trouble. Hell, as far as we know, they could have opened the gates and high-fived the Taliban as they marched in.
Anyway, here's the story as it appeared in the New York Times*:
More than 100 trucks loaded with supplies for American and allied forces in Afghanistan were destroyed Sunday by militants in Peshawar, a Pakistani city that serves as an important transit point for the Afghan war effort.Read the rest.*
*Might as well give the Times some business. Call it charity. Who would we pick on if the Times went under?
