Another YouTube Ban for Questioniong the ROP
Looks like Dan Riehl was banned from YouTube for questioning the Religion of Peace's peaciness. On a related note, the recent video I reposted which had been labeled "Deccan Mujahideen" and which was posted by a YouTube user three weeks before the Mumbai attacks was also taken down for some unkown reason.
Yet, as this SOFIR study shows, YouTube is routinely used by jihadis to distribute propaganda. Offend Muslims: banned. Recruit terrorists: a-okay.
Despite YouTube's reassurances that it will deal with terrorist propaganda videos, we have yet to see any real effort by them to actually fulfill their empty promises. As far as we can tell, YouTube still uses the flawed system of "flagging" a video for offensive material. This leads to a system where thin skinned Muslims flag each and every video which has anything negative to say about Islam, while no such flagging is done on terrorist videos labeled in Arabic.
Updated by Howie: On a Related note. The Smackdown group has noticed a pattern in Youtube's flagging system.
Users with old videos prior to above, do not get suspended.Which means that all the flagging we do against older terrorist propaganda is useless. Yet Dan's vid was two years old.I'm thinking when YT went Lieberman's way on 9/11/08 they did it from that day - forward!!!
They still don't follow their own rules (perfect example training videos not allowed on YT! yeah, right, we haven't gotten a single one down yet!)
Users with 3+ (videos removed, policy says that's a suspension). I still have a list a mile long of 3+ users prior to 9/11/08.
UNLESS they post new fresh stuff - they will sit there forever.
