Somali Pirates Operate Near Yemeni Coast
Hat tip Eagelspeak (who as usual has great analysis), this map shows the incidence and locations of pirate attacks in the Gulf of Aden as of Nov. 21, 2008. This is the normal route for these size ships, I've learned, which are staying closer to the maritime security zone (blue line) . But I didn't realize that the epicenter of Somali piracy was so close to Yemen, not Somalia:
