Barack Obama To Bank Execs: Do As I Say, Not As I Do
Well, will the Messiah forgo his Presidential salary as the federal government spirals downward into the pit of deficits and debt? I doubt it.
CHICAGO – President-elect Barack Obama thinks bank executives should forgo their bonuses this year to show they are taking responsibility amid difficult economic times.In an interview with Barbara Walters to air Wednesday, Obama also said he's trying to keep his BlackBerry or find another way to "break through the isolation and the bubble that exists around the president."
I highly doubt Barack will be forgoing his yearly salary, which he really won't need during his term. A $20.00 a week allowance and his wife's salary should keep him in patchouli for his entire term. It's not like the President has to, yanno, actually pay for food, lodging, and transportation himself.
Yet he's trying to keep his Blackberry. When we're amid difficult national security times. Wonder why that is? The "bubble" exists for a reason.
It's going to be a long, long, 2-4 years.
