Coalition forces strike al-Qaeda in Iraq senior networks, detain two
BAGHDAD – Coalition forces dealt another blow to al-Qaeda in Iraq’s senior leader network by capturing one suspected terrorist and one additional suspect.
During an operation Tuesday near Tikrit, 160 km north of Baghdad, Coalition forces captured a suspected terrorist who is believed to be an AQI cell leader in the area. The individual identified himself as the wanted man and surrendered to Coalition forces. One additional suspect was detained during the operation.
