PETA Protests Peruvian Pussy-Eaters
(Canete, Peru) This week, the annual two-day Gastronomical Festival of the Cat was held near Lima and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) have expressed outrage at little pussycats being butchered and eaten (story/video).
Reportedly, local people consume hundreds of cats prepared several ways, including fried cat, grilled cat and catburgers, as a cure for bronchial disease and as an aphrodisiac.
