Schwarzenegger Corrals Restaurant Menus

(Sacramento, California) Gov. Arnold "some-of-my-best-friends-are-conservatives" Schwarzenegger signed legislation (SB1420) into law today to require chain restaurants to post calorie, fat, carbohydrate and sodium content on their menus. A decision on the uniform insignia and color for the Restaurant Menu Police has not been announced.

Oddly, according to President Jot Condie of the California Restaurant Association, nobody knows whether the menu labeling requirement will have any effect on eating habits. It's assumed the government has made a good guess with the new law.

Now there's a motto: California State Government - We Guess Good!
