Charlie Gibson's Sarah Palin Interview

The reviews are still coming in on Sarah Palin's interview with Charlie Gibson.

For my part, I think Sarah Palin did just fine in her interview. There were a few missteps, but given the really incredible job the lefties have done in reducing expectations, she certainly didn't need to be perfect to chalk up a "win."

Sarah was clearly caught a little off-guard by his question about the "Bush Doctrine," but I watch this stuff pretty closely and I would've had a hard time defining the "Bush Doctrine" with specificity. Broadly defined, the Bush Doctrine could be characterized as "kill people and break stuff." Without knowing for sure what Gibson was asking, it would've been risky to make an assumption.

Palin may have been caught off-guard on the Pakistan question also, but maybe not. Keep in mind how much fun we on the right have had skewering Obama for his call for bold new military adventures on Pakistani soil. Keeping her answer vague was probably a good move tactically, even though it comes off on video as evasive.

Keep in mind: the game here is to get through the interview while avoiding any deadly soundbites. On that score, Sarah Palin passed with flying colors.

A side note: the video editing on the interview was pretty bad. We all realize that these videos are edits of much larger video sequences, but the final product came off, to me, as very sloppy.

Your thoughts?
