Chinese Paid for Neighborhood Stink

(Beijing, China) The city government in Beijing is paying residents for their stinking neighborhood. It's called a stench subsidy.

Urban sprawl has surrounded a garbage dump and instead of closing it and creating a new one, the city just pays people to live in the stinking, vermin-infested neighborhood.

The citizens are not happy but they can't complain -- at least not loudly. The commies don't like protesters.
