The question was, "Candidate Palin, do you support distribution of contraceptives in school?"

In a wide ranging 2006 survey of Alaska gubernatorial candidates, one question was:

3. Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?

The lovely Sarah answered: "Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support."

Read it all. Most candidates failed to answer. School based clinics giving out condoms is not a popular notion among the mainstream.

And a friendly tip to "newscasters", (e.g. CNN's Cambell Brown, "Why would her mother subject her to this kind of scrutiny?"), before you speak, ask yourself if you would ask the same questions about a male VP candidate....

And "commentators", (e.g. David Gergen who sniffed, "Palin appeals to blue collar workers..."), stop talking down to the audience. "Blue collar" is not a negative thing.
