Sarah Palin Pick a Plus for McCain Ticket

palin.jpgI'm sure we'll all be suffering from "Palin overload" by next week, but she's still a bit of an unknown at this point. Initial reports look good, from a conservative perspective. The Club for Growth sure seems to like her. From a recent press release:

At a time when many Republicans are still clinging to pork-barrel politics, Governor Palin has quickly become a leader on this issue, said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. She is a principled reformer who understands how badly wasteful spending has marred the Republican brand.
Palin took on her state's porkmongers and generally won. That says a lot right there.

In other news, She's a lifetime member of the NRA and is considered fairly solid on Right-to-Life issues. As Michelle says:

Palin is solid on life issues, taxes, fiscal conservatism, energy, and the environment.
Michelle's verdict?
Yes, Im impressed. Very impressed.
Some of Palin's other positions are recorded here.

The big question mark on Palin is the immigration issue. Yeah, she is a governor of a "border state," but I don't think they face quite the same issues up there.

Strategically, Palin gives the conservative base another reason to support McCain. Overall it looks to me like McCain made a very good choice for Veep--and it certainly doesn't hurt that she's HOT--especially in THIS PIC.
