Obama Death Plot?
(Denver, Colorado) Authorities have arrested four people on methamphetamine and weapons charges who are also suspected of plotting to kill Barack Obama during his acceptance speech on Thursday. Nathan Johnson, 32, Tharin Robert Gartrell, 28, Shawn Robert Adolph, 33, and Natasha Gromek (Johnson's girlfriend) are in custody.
The cascade of arrests started with a traffic stop of Gartrell for erratic driving. Methamphetamine, high-powered rifles, camo clothing, bullet-proof vests, wigs, walkie-talkies and licenses in the names of other people were found during a search. The group is suspected of possibly being linked to a biker gang called the Sons of Silence and white supremacists.
The Feds aren't taking chances but right now they see the group as more meth-head losers than a serious threat to Obama or the convention. A news conference is scheduled for this afternoon. (more later)
