I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself to all the Jawas. I'm Kyros from Report on Arrakis which most of you probably never heard of and I'll be blogging here from time to time.
Now I'll explain my blog. I chose the blog theme to be based on Arrakis, the desert planet from Frank Herbert's Dune novel. I read the Dune series when I was I little kid and the books first introduced me to the concept of jihad (holy war). For a long time I thought jihad was just a product of Herbert's imagination. I only realized that jihad is a real world concept when 4 jumbo jets were hijacked and flown into the WTC towers, the Pentagon and into a field in Pennsylvania.
The Jawa Report inspired me to start blogging so it's totally awesome that now I'll be posting here! On a side note, George Lucas took inspiration fron Herbert's Dune series to create the Star Wars universe. So now the circle is complete.
